101 Heritage Dr, Johnson CityI took my sweet Zu here about five years ago to have surgery and to board her shortly after for a few days. The staff was so incredibly kind to me and I’ll never forget when they let me talk to Zu on the phone after she woke up from surgery.
Sadly, Zu has since passed but I recommend this vet to every person who mentions to me their pet may need surgery in her honor. Thank you for taking such good care of Zu when you had her - I will never, ever forget ❤️

So I feel a little bad, because they have an Italian bistro with a great little menu, but we ALWAYS get the pizzas. The crust is perfect (thin and crispy). The toppings are high quality and fresh. There are enough varieties for all tastes (we've had most - all the pizzas are really good). It's such a great pizza and we have such trouble finding great pizza that we never have anything else. I feel like we're probably missing out on a bunch of other great menu items! One day, we'll give them a try. :)
We like to come during breezy, sunny days, sit out in their great yard, and enjoy their rose (sparkling and regular) with our pizza. It's so relaxing! Just a great space to have a bite and sip some wine. And they go ALL OUT around Halloween (see my photo) so even more fun then.
The people who will help you are kind as can be. After your second or third visit, you're going to be treated as a regular, but since they treat everyone great from the get go, all that really means is that they're going to recognize you, maybe raise an eyebrow, maybe carry on a bit more. Otherwise, you'll just be treated great by really warm people.
They're also very dog (and hummingbird) friendly, and that's important to us. :)

402 E Main St, Johnson CityThe best little winery in town! I’ve been a member for over a year and although I’m pregnant right now it’s one of the only wine clubs I kept. The staff have introduced me to so many great people here when I first moved to JC. And, they have the cutest little shop with home goods and fun items if you aren’t looking to drink wine!
But if you are looking for a solid wine the cultivated and proving ground are fast favorites. And, the rosè is always amazing any day!

108 W Main St, Johnson CityChristophe has clearly been a chef for some time in some really hip places as the photos on his trailer show. Texas got lucky that Covid brought him out for opportunities. I’m a 1st timer, ordered the Burgonese and the Chicken Pesto Panini. Both were delicious but the Burger was probably in my top 5 ever. Stop by if you’re passing through to a winery in the Johnson City / Fredericksburg/ Hye / Blanco area. Worth going a bit out of your way!

8264 US-290, Johnson CityStumbled upon Silver Dollar Bistro/ Silver Dollar Winery while looking for gluten free food options near Fredricksberg and it was 11/10 the best choice we could have made! The food hit the spot, they had gluten free pizzas for those of us who needed gluten free food and they were quick and delicious. We ended up doing tastings as well and had a great time chatting with the owner Richard. The wine was great, the vibe was great and we will definitely be back!
