I had two stray cats, which I stopped by the shelter to talk about. They arranged to take them in and told me to bring them in the next day and there would be $100 surrender fee. I brought them in the next day, and the woman was very short and rude with me and basically told me that the previous employi lied to me.

Without these people I would have lost my dog and my cat. Due to unforeseen circumstances me and my fiance were both admitted to a psychiatric hospital.. These people were kind enough to look after my pitbull, and a young cat who had recently been recovering from a spay surgery. May God Bless everyone here.

I have had a TNR colony for several years and at my own expense have provided food, shelter and spaying 3 females. These cats are very feral and I don’t try to domesticate them. Was told at the time by an animal rescuer that this was perfectly legal. Juan and the young control officer showed up at my door and began to ringing the doorbell. When I didn’t answer Juan began banging on my storm door and saying he knew I was here and for me to answer the door. Told me all ferals had to be trapped and brought to the shelter. I asked for help seeing his attitude and he said no, they were mine because I had fed them, therefore my responsibility. Because they are unadoptable they will be kept for 72 hours and then euthanized. In the meantime they had called the cops and I was issued a citation for roaming animals. I called Wendi and she was very abrupt and said I could come get the traps. Called her back and she wouldn’t take my call so I left my name and number. Still have not heard from her. Juan is a bully and seems to delight in trying to intimidate others. I have ordered no trespassing signs to place on my property and told him never to set foot in my yard again. It seems several people aren’t pleased with the shelter as of late. Officer Royce McCullough brought me 5 newborn kittens and asked if I would be willing to bottle feed because their mother had abandoned them. I paid for formulas out of pocket and no he never returned to inquire as to how they were doing. Google Queso’s law and it reads that should I stop feeding them I could very well be charged with animal cruelty. So, thank you city of Jacksonville for allowing the shelter to come to this sad state of affairs. Is this really the best you find?

These people are unethical and rude they pound on peoples door yelling about their animals. They do not introduce themself they must assume that people are aware who they are! These people need classes on communication skills because they sure do not have it ! I hate to assume they are rude to us because of our skin color but they need to get checked and and sent back to training because these people that work there are not it!
