If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
If you're shopping for a mortgage company, my advice to you (especially as first-time home buyers, as we are) would be to stay FAR AWAY from MTH Mortgage.
We've been trying to close on our home and have dealt with countless issues, mostly stemming from a lack of communication.
There have truly been too many issues to list. But suffice it to say, there's been absolutely NO communication.
Never in my life have I experienced worse customer service.
Our initial contact person, Michelle White (NMLS #1030910), has repeatedly requested that we submit forms we've already provided multiple times.
Whenever we reached out with questions, it would be DAYS before we'd hear anything back, if we heard back at all!
She emailed us forms regarding her other clients and admittedly had us confused with other clients on multiple occasions.
Our real estate agent even presented these issues to Michelle, but the experience never improved.
We were then passed to the branch manager, Keith Merrefield (NMLS #194137), but the same issues continued, including requests for documents we'd already submitted.
We've been very understanding throughout this entire process, being inconvenienced time after time, but the final straw was our most recent closing date being pushed back, YET AGAIN, because a disclosure form that is required to be completed 3 days before closing was not communicated in any way until this morning—the day before our scheduled close.
We are first-time home buyers and have three young kids. During this process, we've been living with family, two hours away. So to say these issues are more than just inconvenient is a massive understatement.
My wife and I have both been incredibly understanding throughout this process and understand that things happen. But I cannot, in good conscience, let this go without being addressed.
If this review helps prevent at least one person from having the same experience we've had, I'd be glad.
