Saturday, March 30 my boyfriend and I adopted a three month old puppy from this location. Ever since we got him he’s been doing OK but we noticed that he was a bit lethargic and that he Was having diarrhea and vomiting. It didn’t happen too often for concerned, and we just assumed that it was due to having a new puppy and introducing him to a new diet. We noticed that he was consistently thirsty, and his diarrhea never cleared up.We were positive that nothing was wrong with him, because we did have paperwork of him having his necessary vaccines and medical checks. On Sunday, we decided to read the paperwork of all of his health records and noticed that he was diagnosed with upper respiratory Disease that he was supposed to still be receiving treatment for! After recognizing that this Humane Society were not properly taken care of their dogs and going over records to make sure that they are up-to-date and finished with necessary medication. I lost all respect and hope that our dog was OK.We took him to a veterinary clinic outside of the free ones that they Advertised to us. Veterinarian was able to tell us that he tested positive for Parvovirus. I can’t believe that I just received a positive Parvo puppy from a Humane Society. This is the type of thing I would expect from a puppy mill. We hope that we caught the illness early! We still love our dog and we’re thankful that we have him but this is absolutely careless and I advise caution to anyone who’s looking to adopt a new family member from the Humane Society. Unfortunately, they are closed on Mondays and I’m not able to reach out to them yet but I will be tomorrow. Before you were done with the adoption process, make sure that the Medical history, they give you is up-to-date, and that they have completed all the necessary procedures that they should have listed on the paper! We Pray that our new puppy is OK and I will be updating this review in the future.Update #1We were not able to receive reimbursement and were told that we have to accept what comes with happens with a puppy. Basically, “you’re alone and it’s your fault that you were lead to believe the dog was healthy.“We’ve created a gofundme to assist in our puppy’s medical bills. Please consider supporting us.https://gofund.me/7e5e3ad3

Horrible customer service. Staff will stare at you and talk badly about you in front of you. They ignore requests and will lie about having someone come out to help. They are also a kill shelter, they put down animals when they are too full and have an animal for too long. Shameful practices

excellent place, I went there for pet food donations as I have fallen on hard times as of late. For my two cats they gave me two cases of wet treats, and a quite large bag of Nulo duck based dry cat food, very good quality. No questions asked.

They take really good care of the animals here. Sure, they're bored and lonely in their cages, but they're clean and well-fed and loved by the staff.

I went in there to adopt today (which I did, two beautiful girl kittens) and I’m still very mad because I think her name was Katie I’m not sure but she was one of the ladies on the right side when you first walk in,she was very nice at first when I went out and found her but then all the sudden she got rude. She was getting rude about the whole situation with my apartments and she was even snapping at her other coworker on the side and even a customer asked me if I was okay because she was being rude to me and everyone. She was laughing historically which was odd, and was being rude at the same time.. and then my husband had to call up while he was at work because I don’t deal with conflict, the manager dealt with it but she came out and started more stuff and the whole time she was walking by she kept giving dirty looks. then had the balls to tell me “well you will have 5 animals” it doesn’t matter how many I have, all of like are well taken care of, all of my animals are update on shot records.

The campus is clean, the pets are adorable. I've met some of the volunteers who work with the cats. Their care and concern for the cats is wonderful.

Animals are all out on display and the Dallas animal shelter is just on the other side. Right now all animals over a year are for free.

Thank you DFW Humane Society for the newest addition to my family. I arrived at your facility where every staff member was so kind and helpful. He's very much spoiled already and it's just been day one. We've decided to name him Alfie. Thank you again!

Great pets are ready to take home. They need love, stability, and nurturing. You can make a difference in a pet's life. I adopted a precious dog that I wholeheartedly love!

We have used their services three times over the course of around 12 years. First time was with a stray that had two litters of kittens. She was caught using their cage fixed and then she was released.Second time was to catch another stray that had a litter of kittens and her mate. She was also fixed and let go. The mate though seemed like he was someone's house cat and I'm assuming they adopted him out or found his owner. And finally most recently the original stray that 12 years ago we brought there, got extremely sick and had to be put down. They took care of it. I cannot speak for how they work behind the desk, but everything I've dealt with them went smoothly. The biggest problem they have is staffing and opening hours. They had to recently change their hours due to staffing shortages.
