Long post but I swear it's worth it. I feel super compelled to tell you about something that is INCREDIBLE that I discovered by accident. I promise you this is truly the best pet parent tip you'll probably ever get. When we were considering adopting this former stray, I was concerned because we had always adopted older dogs and never had a puppy. I wanted to make a plan for his every need. I called our vet just to get a ballpark on what the expense would be to get him all 3 rounds of shots and get him neutered. I was shocked when they told me that his first round of shots would be $400. JUST the first set. Then, to have him neutered would be an additional $500-$600 and even more if I wanted him to get pain meds! (Like who would put a dog through surgery and not make sure they were comfortable afterwards?!) I didn't know any better and almost bit the bullet and went with our usual vet. SO HAPPY I DIDN'T! I just happened to check to see if the cost would be the same at other vets in town and was BLOWN AWAY when I came across Texas Coalition For Animal Protection. (They have locations all over.) For ALL 3 rounds of shots, microchipping, and neutering with pain management after, THEY ONLY CHARGED $150. $150 TOTAL FOR EVERYTHING!! And they have great reviews. We have had 4 vet visits with them and I'm over the moon happy with every single person that we've met and the care they provided my Banner baby every single visit. They also offer ridiculously low rates for your dogs & cats to get their annual vaccinations, dental cleanings, and heartworm testing/preventative. (I mean, less than $75!) Look them up. I sincerely cannot say enough good things about them! Most affordable and the most wonderful service for the State of Texas. Donate if you can! They're remarkable!!

I went to this organization to get my cat, her shots and to get spayed. They went quickly and everything turned out perfectly. They are very affordable and I would definitely recommend them to others that need low-cost pet services.

We got there a few minutes before they opened and many people already there, so we had to wait a little over an hour, but it was the day before Thanksgiving when people are off work, so I expected that. The employees managed the line well, so it felt very fair (we were assigned numbers and didn’t have to stand in the line for that time). Once it was our turn, it was super fast and the staff were very nice. Totally worth it for heartworm testing/meds, and I’m happy somewhere like this exists for such an affordable price.

Usually come here for my preventions and vaccinations never have a problem! I did get my dog spayed here went well as well. The one time I come in just for there flea prevention I filled out all the information and waited in line patiently she then put me aside still waiting watching everyone pass me even being helped with prevention options while my dogs are in the car (I brought them just in case) and knew what I needed. I don’t know what the reason for that was, felt ignored and dumb just standing. I am so very upset with this experience. I understand so much that they are very busy here but why was I not being helped ? I then went up to her again after it slowed down and she was easily able to get me what I needed. Again why did I wait so long? I had gotten here at 10 and almost waited till they closed.

I highly support and recommend TCAP. Very affordable rates and despite being overwhelmed, they manage to get people and animals out quickly. Review their website to know what to expect. I often get there at least 30 mins before they open to be one of the first in line. You will be waiting outside or in your car and pets must be on a leash for their and others' safety. The wait can be long at times, but that's why it pays to be there early. Sometimes it takes me an hour and a half, most recently only a half hour. Be prepared to wait and dress weather appropriate.

Today I took two dogs to be fixed here and I should have never done this to my animals. What in the hell did they do to my dogs? Both are so uncomfortable. I paid extra for pain injection for the night one the male and combo pain meds for the female. If they even got the injection who knows. My male is black and purple along the shaft not even near the incision. The female has razor burns all over her belly. This is unacceptable and cruel.

They did a wonderful job with our little cat Gigi. We just picked her up earlier from her surgery and she's doing very well. I highly recommend these people they're very caring.

My dog was neutered two months ago, and he was traumatized by the experience. He was bruised and mistreated, and when I contacted TCAP office, they were rude and tried to put the blame on me. The vets kept contradicting each other on meds, and ended up telling me to bring him back, but I would have to pay $200. After what this place did to my dog he ended up developing an infection. I decided I was not going back there, so I took him to a different vet who confirmed all my fears. It’s been two month, and he is so traumatized that I can’t take the cone off his head without triggering. He has been struggling to fully recover 100% because of the negligence. For my dog to be suffering it’s has been hard for me to see him like that.I just don’t know what else to do to overcome the trauma he experienced at TCAP. I share this hoping and praying it doesn’t happen to another dog!

Low cost vaccine for your pets. But that one lady handing out the clipboard today (10-30-2023 9:45 am) was extremely rude. Give her a little bit of authority and she thinks she can just shoo away people. "You can't stand here!" Chill out lady. You have one job and that's to pass out clipboard. She just made the whole thing even more stressful for the owner and the dog.

The neutering service seems to have gone well, but their after care instructions are super inconsistent and unhelpful. I've called three different times, twice with the same question after an updated situation, and got completely different answers. The first guy said the cone had to be on 7-10 days, and that if he licked the incision after that it would be fine. We took it off at 10 and our dog tried to lick the incision so we put it back on until it had been 14 days. I called today and she said "14 days minimum for the cone, but after 14 days if he tries to lick the incision you need to put the cone back on." Then I asked when we can bathe him, and she said "a minimum of 14 days." So which is it? Will the moisture from his licking hurt the incision but a straight up bath won't? Just confusing, and her tone was rude, like I should already know. I did know from the packets sent on the day of the neutering, but now I'm getting contradicting information, so what am I supposed to do?

Took a TNR kitty there on Thursday. They are professional, quick and efficient. I’m so happy we have this resource.

My pets incision site opened and when I called the “24 hour” number it went to a messaging service. I left a message Sunday at 6 and no one called me back. I called again Monday morning and someone called me back and immediately after I said “hello” this lady yelled “I talked to you three times yesterday and you were supposed to bring your pet in the morning!” I told her no one called and then she said she left a voicemail. I told her I didn’t have a voicemail from her. She then said “just bring your pet in at 10” and hung up after I said ok. She asked no questions about my dog. Please don’t take your pets here.

Friendly staff. Great place for your dog's or cat's vaccines that are at a more affordable price. We've been bringing our dog for years.

They told me had to come to location to have heart worm test then they could order the heart guard and hace it mailed to us. Well not so you get test done and then they tell you to go home and use a code to order the heart guard which then will be mailed to you. They need to tell people the actual way they did things and not change story after you do what they said you needed to do. ?

Staff is so nice. They all work fast to get everyone taken care of. Lines are long and there is always a wait - that is only because they do great work!!
