Very poor experience at this clinic. Dogs are preferred here. If you have a cat, I highly suggest taking it anywhere else but here.
I brought in our neighborhood cat that went missing & came back, not at her best shape. Poor thing weighted 2lbs when I put her on the scale because they wouldn't touch her at first.. Which she fell off the damn table TWICE!! Under their care, as I stepped back for them to observe her. Mind you, she was already weak, and for them to let her fall twice and not caring to even pick her up is beyond unprofessional.. Good thing nothing broke, etc, or they would have been sued for sure.. The "doctor" observed from a distance trying to guess what could be wrong with her because she wouldn't touch the weak cat. She ended up guessing it could be an infection and called someone in the back with more experience and were able to give her two shots as she just layed and didn't flench. The staff are good just this doctor is unprofessional. 2 weeks goes by and she's still not doing so well. I'll be taking her elsewhere.

I highly recommend Dr. Klett. She is the only one I want treating my dog. My experience with Dr. Dempsey was ok but he didn’t show up at all on one of my extremely urgent appointments, we waited over an hour, and as a result my dog ended up having a really bad night until I could get Bleu in the next day to see Dr. Klett.

Dr Dempsey and Dr Klett have been my vets for a number of years and will continue to be. They are both good vets and they care about my pets and my wallet. I was treated very well by the staff. And I plan on going back with another one of my animals very soon.

PLEASE consider a second opinion before allowing this clinic to do any sort of treatment to your fur baby. It seems like the vet there loves to use sedation for ANY minor treatment. I was told my fur baby had to be sedated in order for them to start treatment for an ear infection. I’m so glad I went somewhere else and got a second opinion! I took my fur baby elsewhere and they DID NOT have to sedate him in order to cure and provide medicine for my fur baby.
I do not recommend bringing your fur baby here for any emergency, ever.

UPDATED. Found out today Eastex misdiagnosed my fur baby's issue as a swollen lymph node. Turns out it was Mast Cell CANCER! Thank God I went to loop 494 vet the same week I was at Eastex.
Run, don't walk away! 1st visit was good. The 2nd was the worst experience ever. They keep pushing for tests and vaccinations that aren't required or recommended during my babies annual and then they blamed me for not asking for a prescription for heartworm meds after I told them I buy them from PerMeds like I'm supposed to know they won't verify Rx like virtually every other vet. I'm scheduling my furbabies annual with a reputable very clinic. Loop 494 Vet.

We came here 2 months ago after searching for a vet staff that truly cares for animals and their families. Dr. Dempsey and Dr. K are some of the best vets I've interacted with and their vet techs are the best people I've met. Unfortunately our journey ended with having to put our cat down recently. The techs did everything they could to make sure we had the time we needed to say goodbye. We'll definitely be using them for our future vet needs. If they're open they do their best to accommodate any issue you might have.

I brought a flea prevention med from this clinic which was around 160$ for 2 tablet. But when i checked it online it was lot cheaper so like after 5mins i went inside and asked for refund they said since you left the building it cant be refunded. They just lost a customer today, i really used to liked it here but after its reopened its just different and rude..

I lost my fur baby of 6 years last Monday and my SO told me about this clinic that offers cremation. My heart is tore and the staff were not just friendly but very supportive and sympathized which showed they cared even though my baby was not a regular patient. The services ranged in cost (they offer options) and I chose the basic. Once her ashes come back, it was heartfelt to see the care they put into this difficult time. They even gave a keepsake. I definitely recommend this clinic for your loved fur babies.

I took my dog here because he had an upset stomach issue and a cut on his foot.Long story short, The Vet is very unorganized and a liar. They text the day of appointment requesting stool sample, get there on time and we sat for over an hour to be seen. They stated they had an emergency and they tell you that every time single time they are behind on anything. My visit cost me over $300 and the vet was so determined to put my dog under he seemed afraid of my jack russell. I read the prior reviews about his procedures and just requested and antibiotic for his foot, never got that, ask what do he believe to be wrong with his stomach, the Vet was lost. He keep pushing to put my dog under to check and clean his teeth. We never got any solid answers from this vet when we left. Only a quote for over $1,300. I went there because the previous Vet was great and knowledgeable. Don’t make the same mistake.

I was recommended by Dr. K for my cat’s injury and right away Eastex Veterinary Clinic took care of his needs. Dr. Payne, Dr. Dempsey and staff were so awesome and I truly appreciate all they did for my cat Toby. We were extremely sad and very worried that he might have to lose his arm but thankfully these wonderful Dr.’s did there absolute best and saved his broken arm. He is now at home recovering and doing very well. Thank you so much for all that ya’ll did for my sweet baby Toby. I Highly recommend them for your pets needs.

Brought my cat in because he was not eating as normal and had a small fever. After some blood test and some medication I brought him home. I noticed he was hurt and wont put pressure on his paw. I dont know what they did when they took him but I will never come here again.

Took my senior cat in 2022 before they shut down and had the best experience. Took my cat in a few days ago and he had to be sedated for a procedure. I was hoping to talk to the doctor while he examined my cat. But he never came in to speak to him, I was told to leave, and that they would get to my cat at some point in the day. Before I dropped him off, I was told that I would be paying a certain amount. During the day, I received phone calls saying that he had fleas (he didn’t), and that he would be receiving an antibiotic instead of a small bandage that we had discussed. The total ended up being 120 dollars more than originally told. When I picked up my cat, he had fur coming out in tufts. I was told that they attempted to partially sedate him earlier in the day but that he became agitated. How long did you fight with him? I brought him home, gave him pain meds as directed, and now he has spent the last two days having diarrhea. If you had a good experience here before they shut down the first time, chances are, you will not now.

I cannot say enough about how AMAZING Dr. Dempsey and his staff are…1st off I went to an Emergency clinic because my regular vet was “understaffed” and the EC was asking for my left kidney (way too much money)…I called all around Houston literally and I heard every excuse imaginable…I called Eastex Vet spoke with “Kim” I believe her name was. Such a great 1st person contact. She was very understanding of my female pups needs and recognized how dire the situation was. She took down my info and called Dr Dempsey. Dr Dempsey gave her the Ok to call me in. After coming up with a plan that was very suitable for me financially, Dr Dempsey saved my female pup. Of course every case/animal is different but I can gladly say Eastex Vet is now the new home for all my dogs moving forward. Dr Dempsey was more than thrilled about saving and treating her. His passion for treating animals shows! Thank you again Dr. Dempsey!
