I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my recent experience with Clifford's Auto in Humble, Texas, which has prompted me to express my concerns regarding the service I received.
On August 3, 2024, I dropped off my vehicle, optimistic to receive what I believed would be high-quality service, as I was led to believe that Clifford's Auto was the number one mechanic shop in the area. Unfortunately, my experience did not align with these expectations.
Throughout the following days, I did not receive any updates about the status of my vehicle, despite my multiple attempts to reach out. Each time I called, I was met with difficulties in reaching the technician assigned to my vehicle. Frustrated by the lack of communication, I decided to visit the shop in person today, where I was informed that my car wouldn’t start. I was told that I would have to wait until Monday to learn the specific issue, which was disappointing.
During this visit, I requested my keys to retrieve some personal belongings from my car. Upon inspection, I discovered that there was another Mercedes-Benz key in the ignition and that my vehicle’s push start engine cover had been removed. This raised significant concerns about the handling of my vehicle, as it explained why my car was not starting.
Despite my concerns, I was persuaded to cancel a tow to Advanced Auto, with the guarantee that Clifford's Auto would cover the tow fee and begin work on my vehicle immediately. Reluctantly, I complied and remained in the parking lot, only to receive a call later informing me that they had identified an issue and sent an email quote for the repairs. However, it struck me as peculiar that my vehicle had not been attended to during the entirety of the time I was waiting.
In light of these events, I am left with the impression that there may have been dishonesty involved in the handling of my vehicle, especially considering that I was charged $150 for a diagnostic service that, based on my experience, was never conducted. The presence of someone else’s key in my ignition further complicates the circumstances surrounding this experience.
Given this frustrating ordeal, I feel compelled to advise others to reconsider any recommendations for Clifford's Auto, despite their endorsement by AAA as a leading mechanic shop. Instead, I would recommend exploring options such as Advanced Auto down the street, where I have heard positive feedback regarding their customer service and reliability.

Great customer service! They did an excellent job replacing my compressor and fixing my AC. They even saved me a ton of money compared to their already reasonable quote! It's rare to find good mechanics that won't gouge you, but Cliffords has always been reliable and trustworthy in our experience!

Took out Jetta diesel here after another local shop quoted an absurd amount for a repair—half the value of car. Clifford’s was able to do the same repair for about 1/3 the cost and had it ready much quicker than I expected. Also felt more confident with them working on euro cars based on the conversations we had. Will be back if needed.

Anthony and Mark did an amazing job explaining the issues with my daughter’s car. After six visits to two separate dealerships over a three year span, Clifford’s was actually able to recognize the issue was gunked up valves. We have had zero issues with her vehicle since the repair.

Had front & back brake work completed @ $1300

That evening. As I always do - I. Use a flashlight. &. Inspect under the truck
There is a. LEAK. On the passenger side bk brake NO. I DID. ( NOT ) HAVE A LEAK. BEFORE.

these R CERTIFIED MECHANICS- there. Is. No excuse. For this. I Called to try to (MAKE AN APPOINTMENT)-m^*+ told me, there probably needs more parts ordered. that I’d hav to drop it off. DRIVE BY THEIR SHOP AT NIGHT. There’s. No security. For your vehicle - it’s a. Plaza. Parking lot !!!!
