First room had a rat in it. The size of a small dog.They switched our room to the room next door the air conditioner sounded like a locomotive. It was so loud, so we decided to try and get a refund and stay somewhere else. It took over 2 hours to get a refund and get off property do not. Dont waste your time coming to this hotel, Both rooms appear to have water damage. I have stayed in drive up motels that were nicer. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

Run as fast as you can from both the wingate by Wyndham and the Wyndham hotel on the corner next to NRG stadium. The hotel air conditioning didn't work. Needs alot of repairs. Ice machines and elevators don't work. Lastly 16 vehicle had windows busted out and they said the security company who parole was called off by mistake. Found out that the person who called them off no longer works there. Inside job we were told. We will never stay here again. There was a young family there who was dealing with family illnesses and then their car is vandalized.

First off the rooms are pretty nasty. The whole building needs a deep clean. Lobby area was renovated but not the rooms. Right after entering the room we saw some insects crawling on the floor. Smell was nasty. You can tell the bathrooms are pretty old with the stains. Overall the room looked like it was a minimum of 15 years old. And then we slept and had itching all night and woke up to realize bed bugs crawling on the bed. It was a horrible experience all night. Morning comes in and we checked out and went to our car to see a break in on the passenger side window. Went to receptionist and found out several other cars were also in the same situation. No help from the hotel. Overall it was a horrible experience. I would not recommend one percent.

WARNING. DO NOT STAY HERE.The hallways smell of mildew and human sweat. The hotel fraudulently charged me for smoking in the room (weed) when I don’t even smoke. I took a drug test to operate a crane for work and I offered to show them my drug test but still hung up on me. I felt hopeless and beat to the pulse. Lucky my credit card let me dispute the charges against them. A bunch of scamming liars. Drugs dealers in the hallway. Don’t talk to the man in accounting or guest services because they will just hang up on you after robbing you. Nastiest hotel I have ever been in. The pool looks like a swamp. At least they even put nice stale bread and oily tater tots out for breakfast. Biggest waste of money and on top of that. They robbed me. Save yourself. Do not stay here.

Meh it's OK for a night if need be. Entire building smells bad from water leak. Several guys said they didn't have AC. Parkings tight. Breakfast doesn't start till 7, no help for a working man. Very small, slow elevators just take the stairs. Wouldn't stay here on my own dime.

The hotel is well located in front of the stadium. You need remodeling because it looks old (elevators and paint). The phone in my room didn't work and a maintenance person arrived and couldn't repair it. The cafeteria area and reception are good. Acceptable breakfast.

5/5/2024, Durning my stay at the Wingate, it was not a pleasant one, the hotel has a old smell to it, after going to bed, I was just looking at my phone, when I noticed something crawling on the bed cover, after looking closely at it, it was a bed bug!! I tried calling the front desk but the room phone wouldn’t work, so I went to the front office, I ask for a manager and was told there wasn’t one, they moved. To another room, couldn’t sleep because thinking about the bugs, so I checked out and went to another hotel.Rooms: No nice at all, my window view was of a pool with green water in it.

Priceline gave this hotel a "3-Star Rating"... Absolutely not. No way.Rooms: Rooms are dark, old and smelly. The bed we got was sunken in the middle. The balconies are not accessible.Safety: Both the rear exterior door and the side exterior door don't lock properly. The main gates to go in and out are locked with a chain and lock. You have to go into the Wyndham entrance and maneuver your way around.Noteworthy details: The pool is green. One of the elevators doesn't work, so you have to walk to the whole length of the hotel. And even the one that works is sketchy.

This is an older Wingate that does need updating. With that said, our stay was great. The staff made the stay very enjoyable. Plus, it was a very quiet weekend as well. The maid service was beyond our expectations -- room cleaned daily, beds made meticulously. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Always willing to help. A good simple breakfast was provided each morning. We had a good experience.

Don't judge a book by its cover. The entrance and lobby are nice but once past there it was sticky carpet territory. They need a deep clean. The room was OK, bed and bathroom good, TV was useless, ice makers didn't work. The limited programming the TV recieves is barely viewable, the TV itself is good but they don't have any cable. Not wanting to go back unless it's the apocalypse.

BEWARE!!! This property was not as pictured or clean. The maid there was very rude and unprofessional. There was a lack of communication after I requested late check out the day prior. The next day I had a maid banging on my room door and I felt like I was being rushed to end my stay after being assured that it was no issue or extra cost. I overheard the maid on the phone complaining about me still being in one of the rooms and telling someone to charge me extra. At checking out, I was not informed that I was being charged an extra 100+ dollars. My receipt total was for the stay only! I didn’t realize until weeks later that I was charged this extra fee for late check out. What’s unsettling is that I was unaware of this charge and how the maid/staff made me and my family feel leaving. This property was not worth this extra expense at ALL. I value my home away from home and I am disappointed in how they conduct business at this property. I will not be staying with them again nor will I be recommending this property to anyone.

Place was pretty good. There elevator was making strange noises. Then when we checked out. We had to take the stairs because it broke down.
