I rented a car from economybookings.com and it ended up being with Thrifty. I got to outbound airport on Sunday, October 27th, to find out my flight was delayed 2 hours. I tried calling Thrifty and could never talk to a person, only got recordings. Went to rental confirmation and it said to give my flight information and they’d hold my car for up to 8 hours if my flight was late, so I did. I arrived to Hobby airport at 6:30, 2 hours later because of delayed flight. All rental car counters were closed but said to catch shuttle bus to rental company. So I did. I accidentally got on Hertz shuttle and arrived to their rental spot at about 7 pm. When they discovered mine was for Thrifty, they told me it was across the street from them, but they had closed at 5pm! So I was ended up renting from them as I had no choice at 7pm, VS ubering to NW Houston and still be left without a car! When I got to my daughter at 9pm I tried looking up my reservation again. Message said “I had no reservation”. What happened to holding my car for 8 hours. Going to website, it said it was open until 7pm! It was a blessing I took the wrong shuttle as I would have been waiting for hours without their shuttle ever showing up! With an extra $425 I made it to my daughters safely, but still can’t get a hold of Thrifty! Worst experience ever and I want my money back! How can I do that if I can’t reach anyone on phone or email them if they show I never had a reservation? These pictures clearly show your hours until 7pm and you had my flight number. Also shows my reservation can’t be found just a few hours after I landed but within time frame if holding my car until I arrived. I’m filing with Better Business Bureau. Too many customers are being scammed by you!

Got here at 12pm Sharp. Stood in the line for 13 minutes. Got checked in 10 minutes. Waited 37 minutes for the car because the lady in the front wearing hat was keep saying that they are cleaning the cars. OMG never again will rent from Thrifty.

Never make a reservation here at Thrifty in Hobby Airport. They don’t have a regular running shuttle and they close at 5 pm and don’t open until til 8 am. I had a reservation to pick up a car at 5 pm and the shuttle never showed up. I rebooked with another rental company and then I heard horror stories about how the thrifty shuttle will dump people in the middle of the road at 5 pm. Other rental companies are constantly having to fix the mess Thrifty makes at Hobby, including having to give people rides and looking for rental cars at the last minute. I heard this from several travelers.

First don’t bother to check in online, you still have to go through the counter process despite the huge sign that they have in the lobby. Second, don’t expect your reserved car to be ready for pick up; it won’t be. You have to wait from them to find it and bring it around. Finally, don’t expect your desired/requested vehicle type to be available; again it won’t be. Far and away the worst process and location that I have experienced in a long, long time.

Scammers, do not rent from here or this location. They will indeed give you a damaged car and try and charge you for it. Absolute scammers at this location. Spend the extra $10 a day elsewhere. They are not worth the headache or time. This is the 2nd time I have rented from them and they have attempted to over charge me on return. I am upset at myself for even using this location again.

Waited for over an hour to get a shuttle due to the hours of operation not being clearly on the site. Then when I finally got to the office, the staff was rude and told me they had no cars ready and I would have to wait although it was just at or later than my pickup time. Thank God I asked them how I would get a shuttle back to the airport after my rental drop off and they said I would have to walk over to another rental place to catch one of their shuttles. Also not mentioned anywhere on the site or when booked. You get what you pay for I suppose. It made traveling with a small child a bit miserable. Definitely won’t be using them again.

The worst rental car experience ever. Upon landing in Houston from Los Angeles, I was taken by shuttle to this location to pick up my rental car that I had rented well before my arrival. Business was usual I thought when I entered The business, so I thought. The gentleman asked for my drivers license, asked about my insurance, told me which vehicle I had rented well before my travel date asked me to swipe my credit card and then informed me that they had no vehicle vehicles. I informed him that that was something he should have told me before I swiped my card. He apologized, but I really think that it was a game because I saw other workers doing the same thing. As I was at the counter and then I looked around I could hear the murmuring of about 20 other customers, one guy mentioned that he had already waited a hour and a half and the gentleman who was helping me informed me that it could be up to five hour wait. How ridiculous is that? so another young lady who perhaps was the supervisor kept making announcements telling people that she wouldn’t recommend that they canceled their reservation because all rental companies were experiencing the same thing no one had cars. So after going outside and making a few calls and not wanting to wait the up to five or six hours, they have mentioned that I may have to wait for cars to be returned. I was picked up by my stepdaughter who took me to Baytown and had me in a car in 10 minutes and to the event that I came in town for in the first place. I don’t know if the Better Business Bureau needs to get involved with thrifty car rental at Hobby Airport, but it was absolutely Ridiculous

We paid for a Toll Tag($14.95x 5 days) and never got it. When we returned the car, the line at the counter was over an hour long. We didn't wait. We got on the shuttle to the terminal. The shuttle driver was such a hot rod that luggage rolled out of the storage area and my husband flew off the seat. Don't rent here. Choose somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Waited forever for the car after checking in online and again and the counter. What is the point on online checkin exactly? Outside of the car was clean but inside was filthy.

Wish I could give negative stars. 1 to 2 people for staff combined for thrifty or dollar. 30 people in line. been over 45 minutes, and I still have 10 people ahead of me.
Will never use them again and would not recommend.
Poor service!
Just an update. Took over 2 hours to get a car that was just returned. My flight was 1.5 hours. When you reserve a car it should be there. This is Miss Management and a failure. I feel like they think we have your money, so what. They clearly dont care about my time! After we finally made it to the counter, it took 30 more minutes! For the car to show up and be cleaned!
The weather was 97 degrees, and most people had to wait outside. No water was supplied even though they had a cooler.
And thrifty is sorry about my experience that they cause and didn't make it right.
Also there were more cost at the return. Too Sketchy!
