I was beyond amazed by Dr. Perez. You can tell she's really passionate about her job. She worked with my grandmother for about two hours to ensure they could create the best prescription for my grandma's situation.

Hi, I was a stay at home mother of four trying to get my family and I out of poverty. This place opened up many new doors for us and I am truly grateful for the person who was kind enough to hire me to work for them. I feel that this man is partly responsible for my success and I i’m truly grateful that he believed in me. never forget that with plenty of faith, hope, and love: anything is possible even if it takes a while.Apt

Our daughter lost most of her vision in her early 20's and The Lighthouse helped her move forward with her life. She is a graduate of Univ of Tx Austin and works and lives on her own. She learned that not having sight was an inconvenience but didn't have to define who and what she would be come. The Lighthouse of Houston serves 5,000 individuals annually through our health and community programs, independent living centers and assisted living facilities. Of those we employ, nearly 40% are blind or visually impaired. Employees are trained to work in our service or products division. Our programs and services provide individuals with the ability to live independently and to reach their full emotional, social and educational potential.

My brother is visually impaired. His cane broke, and, asked me to take him to get a new one. We dropped by and the doors were all locked. Michael ended up coming to the doors. He told us we need a appointment to drop by because of the pandemic. I told him I tried calling, but, the message I received was that the line was busy. Michael asked what we needed, and, we told him. He ended up going back inside to get another cane for my brother, and, allowed him to pay for it with his credit card. Thanks to Michael's assistance, my brother has his eyes again!
