As a huge lover of turquiose and unique jewelry, I flipped my sh!t the first time I visited Ginger Jo and her heavenly displays. She has, by far, the best selection of rings, necklaces, pendants, earrings, bracelets, you name it. Though I personally am not a hat person, her hats are out of this world too. She puts so much care and creativity into all her pieces and it shows! They're so gorgeous. Even if something isn't your style/taste, you can appreciate the artwork of it. I don't think a time has gone by that I've been amid her items and NOT purchased at least one thing. Worth every damn penny. Bonuses? There is usually a great story behind them and Ginger Jo is a delight to talk to and hang out with! If you're looking to treat yoself to some jewels, there is no better place to do it than here.

There is no place like Ginger’s - Family Jewels of Texas in Houston! It’s a sensory overload of amazing, timeless works of beautiful art in many different forms. Indian turquoise and may semiprecious stones jewelry. Everything is there from famous artist’s pieces to antique collectibles to fun beautiful, bling jewelry. Not to mention the one of a kind custom made hats she does!

Several of my most beautiful and best loved pieces of jewelry have come from The Family Jewels. And it’s always a blessing to be in the rarified air that surrounds Ginger Jo.

Please understand that I am reviewing the owner, Ginger Jo. The products in her store are gorgeous! If you're looking for a bargain, this is not the place. You get what you pay for, right! I purchased a beautiful hat from her at her Houston Livestock kiosk. When I arrived home and tried it on, I, sadly, realized this hat wasn't me. A little too much bling. I was there the last day of Rodeo. I was given her card, so I called and received voicemail. Ginger did return my a call a few days later. I asked if I could exchange my hat. She stated this wasn't a problem. She said they were taking a couple of weeks off. Asked me to call in 2 weeks. That's the last time I spoke with her. No answer to call, texts. Nada. I decided to go to her place of business. I called ahead as her card suggest. The fence is locked. I rang the big bell out in front. Nothing. She states she will not refund but will exchange. She does not. Ginger is rough around the edges, which I can take. Not keeping her word is another story.

I stopped by her shop at HLSR; found, and purchased an amazing turquoise bolo . Ginger Jo is fun to visit with, and she is very knowledgeable. I'm anxious to visit her store in the Heights.

Ok I loved the earrings I got at the rodeo. There was no price tag the nice lady who helped me had to ask Ginger for the price. 45 dollars I was OK with that. I noted Ginger who was helping the other customer right next to me very put out with questions from the nice lady helping me and really impatient with the customer she was helping. I was able to use my credit card and my sister who bought some earrings was able to also. I saw Ginger on TV and she seemed totally different maybe she was really overwhelmed at the rodeo and her spot was warm but had a fan because I would really love to go to her shop and see more of her stuff.
