Texas Art Asylum is a super cool place with various kinds of creative finds for great prices. It is a fantastic hub for upcycling supplies, offering a diverse range of materials including lots of used art supplies, fabric, yarn, cardboard, and vintage scrapbook pages. Most items are sold by the pound, though some have set rates. It is a place to find unique odds and ends or inspiration for a next creative endeavor. The staff are friendly and understanding, and there are two cats and a dog roaming around. The pricing can be frustrating at times, however, and it is recommended to be mindful when filling a cart as it adds up quick. Some feel the pricing system contradicts the store's mission, making perfectly usable items go unused. Still, many love coming every month to find all sorts of things, calling it super affordable and highly recommend checking it out for bits and bobbles. The business is open for shopping by appointment.
