I joined Sam's Club as a member during the summer when they ran a promotion for an $8 annual membership. Since I know they sell some items in bulk at a discounted price that I buy regularly at the grocery store, I figured it was worth the try. Years ago I had been a Sam's Club member, but I let my membership lapse due to lower quality of items they carried combined with the cost involved.So far, I've learned multiple things from my nearly six-month experience as a recent member.1. In order not to get completely overtaken in the parking lot by oblivious, self-centered drivers, you need to come here on a weekday morning prior to noon.2. Purchase only items that are pre-packaged: breakfast cereal, bottled water, bottled tea, laundry detergent, household cleaners.3. NEVER buy produce here. Ever. You may think it's a deal, but it will end up in the trash. On a recent visit, I purchased two produce items, each dated for "best use" 10 days after I purchased them. One was a package of 6 red, yellow and orange peppers. One was a package of broccoli florets. The day after purchase, two of the peppers already had mold on them, and every time we opened up the refrigerator, we'd comment: "What stinks??" Finally narrowed it down to the broccoli, because once I cut open the bag, the entire house stunk like bad farts. Out in the trash that went immediately, along with half of the peppers.4. Bypass the meats. They may look good, but the prices are not anything to write home about, and after my recent produce experience, I'm not touching their meats.5. Make sure you have a smartphone with you and you're willing to go to the self-checkout. Manned checkout stations are limited to one lane; the remainder are self-checkout and without your card or digital image of your membership, things can get pretty complicated.All in all, I'm not sure I'll renew my membership at full price once it comes due. Granted, I do purchase three items here that Costco does not sell and are much more expensive in the grocery store. But, is it worth it for me to endure the nightmare parking lot, the sometimes unsavory characters that wander into the store freely and the near-mandatory self-checkout? I'm not too sure about that.Caveat emptor.

Sam's Club has the best Granola! It's made with 100% Whole Grains and has Super Seeds & Fruit in it! They also have 100% fresh squeezed Orange Juice that is squeezed daily on the spot!! The good thing is I was able to walk straight up to a self checkout register to check out. Ohhh I was able to sign up to switch energy providers too! I switched from TXU's free nights to Just Energy's free night plan . TXU had a 9.95 monthly fee that I hated but free electricity from 8pm-5am which was great! Just Energy's monthly fee was 4.95 and free electricity from 9pm-7am which is longer. Darian assisted me with getting switched over.

I was a sams club member for years because Costco wasn't anywhere near me. They had a promotion of "come get a membership and we will give you 45 back as a credit". Naturally I did. This should be a three star review, however Sam's is just so dirty it needs to be dropped a rung. Start from the inside in; The parking lot. Is small, carts left everywhere because of few cart corrals, dirty with trash riddled everywhere. Carts are a few decades past being replaced. Inside, just can't hold a candle to Costco. It just looks dark. It's not clean. Folks aren't as friendly as Costco. Now as far as selection of items, both have their high points. I like most of the items at Costco but Sam's has a nice variety of different things too. That being said I'm happy with the products they have here. Checkout process is a bit weird. They have a scan your own section, this scan and go from your app, and then only 4 traditional checkout spots . Upon leaving they only have one receipt checker, which can make the line get big pretty quick. Next negative, no gas station! Anyway, I will probably keep the membership because of the selection of items they have, just wish they took as much pride in a clean organized store like their main competitor does.

The employees of this store need to be trained. Had an item that would not scan and the lady helping us just said oh well it will not scan and put it back in this shelf. What a wasted trip but not completely since there is Costco.

Sooo I went to sans club finally thinking that I was about to get access to so much savings and items and this store doesn't even have an off brand bleach. I wasted my time going and getting a membership because I will NOT be back. First of all, they only have select brands for tissue, paper towels, detergent etc. it's like they force you to get the brands they want. There is no one checking to see if a forklift is needed to restock... i walked around for 45 minutes looking for help just to get tissue, by the one I found some one I was told I have to get someone to go get a forklift, which required me to search again. This shopping experience was so inconvenient. Also you guys need more polite staff because the girl who signed me up definitely had an attitude at first smh. The fact that the store has 2 stars with 50 reviews should let the MANAGER know that most people are unhappy shopping here! I drove from cypress for nothing!! WHAT KIND OF SERIOUS MANAGER DOESN'T READ THE REVIEWS ??? They only care about taking money

Love this location, I know exactly where everything is at, so we'll organized. I love there Scan and Go App. When I'm done with my shopping I just scan my merchandise and pay over phone. I still can't believe people wait in them long lines. I Scan and Go
