They have 50% off a certain color tag everyday but they remove all those clothes from the racks before the store opens. They sell empty candle jars (trash) for $3. Ross tags are often still on the items for cheaper than what Salvation is selling them for.

Sleep deprivation because of the loud snoring.
Also, I was freezing INDOORS and they made me remove the only thing keeping my ears/head warm.
This place is EVIL!!!!

Well, I used to think this place was ok - someone very dear to me received assistance from there. I used to visit from time to time and never had an opinion one way or the other. Nothing remarkable. However, today, I was appalled by the way I was treated. Three weeks ago, I went to leave some words of encouragement for my aforementioned loved one (two greeting cards) - I've done so many times before and didn't have an issue. Standard policy at the Salvation Army requires all visitors check-in and any items being delivered must be inspected and logged in - and details including the name of the recipient. I checked-in two greeting cards, and included cash. I also logged in a separate register that they require when leaving cash. Here we are three weeks later and I find out my loved one was not even there. I went to pickup the greeting cards (with the cash) and was told they "didn't know what happened to them because it was three weeks ago". I politely begin to remind them that they could check their log books. Before I could finish my sentence, the Salvation Army representative, Mr. Bell, proceeded to point his finger at my face while I was seated in the lobby and wave his hand (as to quiet me) and tell me I "left left them so long ago and that these these were not kept in one place". Seriously? I have not been talked to in such a way since I was a teenager. Needless to say, I was offended and disappointed. If he had simply informed me of their mistake minus his wrongly directes implication, I would have donated the cash. Shame on you Mr. Bell. Hopefully your dismissive and rude attitude ha nothing to do with my gender.
The rest of the staff was professional and courteous as usual.

I graduated a 6 month program at the salvation army arc in california. My deal was prescription pain killers and cigarettes. Both of which I managed to completely quit through the help of my fellow addicts and the salvation army. Dont feed into people calling it slave labor. You get what you put into the program. Surrender who you were and rebuild yourself with only the things worth keeping. You have to pass a drug screen on arrival, so be prepared by going through the brunt of your withdrawls at home. I came from a very dark place. If youre struggling with addiction right now as youre reading this whether youre high or withdrawling, remember this. The withdrawls do stop and it wont kill you. You might feel like dieing, but youll make it. Keep your heads up to all the addicts and family members of. The addict is never completely gone. The only way to go when you hit the bottom is up ??
