Our experiences with TLC over many years and multiple dogs, has always been 5 star care and service. We love Dr. Funk, for her no nonsense expert advice, great stories, and her lifelong love and devotion to animals (dogs). The vet technicians are rock stars in vet care and the front office staff is great in person and with follow up (not sure why they got bad reviews here). Vet service and care isn't cheap, anywhere you go. If it is cheap, I would question the quality of care above all. I don't know about anyone else but my fur babies are family and they get the best in class vet care in the bay area.

The only place to bring your pets in Clear Lake area. They have cared for my cats for over 10 years. Through healthy times and more difficult times, they have maintained absolutely fabulous care me and my cats. My friends with dogs also rave about their care after I've referred them to TLC. They really do care about their patients and their owners and it shows with every visit or phone call.

I would give this animal hospital NO STARS if I could. The vets especially Dr Funk are great. The front office staff is unprofessional and very, very disorganized. Made an appoint for my dog. My previous vet emailed my dogs records to me and to TLC. When I got to the appointment on June 2nd, they couldn't find the emailed records. Luckily I had printed out a copy and said I would handed it to the vet. Later in the exam room, I could see my dog's records in the folder and Dr Funk referred to it several times. I did leave the extra copy I had of my dog's record with TLC. Called TLC in July to make an appointment. Front office clerk told that my dog wasn't in computer. She checked file for paper records and could find none. I did make an appointment and hand carried another copy of the records to the appointment. Called TLC in August to order prescription food and both medicines for my dog. Once again told that they had no record of my pet being there. Told them about previous vet emailing record, me twice bringing the records to the office, and gave the dates of the vet appoints we had been to at TLC. After a long wait on hold, the records were finally found. Told to pick medicine up the next day. When I called to see if they were ready, I was told they were ready but when I got there, they were not ready. TLC also does not carry any of the three medicines that my other dog takes. Found this out after calling to fill two of the medicines. Told they would be ready the next day. I got there and am told they don't even care them. I cancelled my dog's appt for next week and asked for my dogs' records. The front office clerk told me they can't give them to me because it was against the law. They could only email them to another vet. I told her that wasn't true as I was the owner. She then went to the back area. She came back and said she would print them. She printed and handed me a Rabies shot record for one dog and billing records for both my dogs that showed what I paid each time I was in the vet's office. I told her this wasn't my dog's medical records and she said she couldn't give them to me because only the vet could give permission and she wasn't in the office. I informed her that Dr. Funk was there as I could see her from the chair I was sitting in walking from one exam room to another. Clerk made a face at me but walked to the back again. While that clerk was in the back, another clerk who had been listening to all this printed off both my dogs' medical records and handed them to me. The original clerk walked back and I told her to not lie to people as it didn't reflect kindly on her employer. I then sat in the parking lot and booked 9:30 appointment tomorrow at a different vet closer to my home for my dog to get her medicines.

We scheduled our dog to be looked at for an apparant injury for 9am. After dropping the kids off at school (their first day) she realized she would be a few minutes late to the appointment. She tried calling and there was no answer. She was able to get there around 9:10 and was told they could no longer see our dog due to being late. When my wife said she tried calling they said their phones were down. My wife asked how that was our fault and that the dog needed to be seen. YThey said to come back at 4:30, which was not an option for us. They called and left a message at 4:32 to say we needed to be courteous and let them know if we were coming or not. We used to really like this place but if they cannot manage to see an ailing, aging dog because we were 10 minutes late, and that their communications were down, then they do not need our business.

Total rip off . Do not go here , thrive is sooooo much cheaper and better. I have to pay 1000 cuz they checked for worms and got flea medicine ?! Outrageous! Not to mention how rude they are, how long the appointment took in the first place and how little they explained anything to us . Save yourself a headache and do not go here

This group goes above and beyond! I was frantically needing an overdue vaccination on my pup and they went the extra mile to accommodate. Kitty, the receptionist, is an all-star! I look forward to seeing y'all again soon:)

First visit--So incredibly fantastic. "Fear free" is a thing. My maltese shakes and hates going to the vet normally which of course makes me anxious as well. We needed someone new. Not only was the customer service all that and a bucket of chips but the engagement by Dr. Funk and attentiveness to make us feel comfortable during the Covid "handoff" process went beyond anything I could have expected!!! These people love what they do and it shows. My maltese did not fuss when he was handed back to me and he did not seem anxious at all---unbelievable!!! Here's hoping every visit is this exceptional--I am all in!!!!Bless you all!--one less thing to worry about!A++++++++

Wonderful folks!! I just relocated to the Houston area last week, and desperately needed a caring, kind, and talented vet for my Frenchie's sudden allergic reaction. I checked Yelp and called this nearby (I thought!) animal clinic. I was able to get a same-day appointment, and was so pleased. After several panic attacks in Houston traffic and completely mistaking the distance from my new home to this clinic, I was mortified to show up quite late for my pup's first visit. I phoned on the way and was told not to worry, please just be safe, and that they would work my girl in when I arrived. Given the COVID restrictions, they were not accepting anyone inside the clinic, and came to the car to meet me and take my pup inside. I really struggled with this, since we have not previously been in the clinic, nor met the Dr or anyone else there. I was very apprehensive, but the staff did a fabulous job helping me overcome my worries. They kept in touch with me and communicated all of my pup's needs immediately. The staff is extremely well-informed, professional, and courteous. I have never felt so thankful for great service. The Dr called me to discuss treatment options and was wonderfully helpful and not at all rushed, even though it was near closing time. I had to leave to go pick up a family member, and the staff was so kind and waited for me. Above. And. Beyond. My pup seems to be getting a lot of relief from her itchiness already, and we are both very thankful for Dr. Funk, Chloe, Tiffany, Shelly, and everyone else who was so fantastic in our time of need and anxiety today. I highly recommend TLC, and am so grateful to have found such a fantastic veterinary team in our new city

This is the only place I will take my dog. The facility is clean, the customer service is wonderful, the vets and vet techs really know their stuff and I am always very pleased when I leave!
