Going to reply since Vitaughny can’t reply to owners response to latest review. When did we say we were clients? I’ve trained with this person in the surrounding area and live here because I have a psychiatric service dog in training named Meelo and we’ve run into over the passed year and a half a ton of issues and problems with not only your trainer but also clients to call her comment and say there’s discrepancies sounds like you’re retaliating against honest feedback we’re doing what we can to let you know for do these issues you have clients running around the metroplex causing a ruckus and making issues for us and the 16 other service dog handlers issues please fix this problem before someone gets hurt

I’ll be honest about this simply due to the fact that I’ve seen both sides of the coin flipped.
A balanced trainer is derived of many qualities and some might find those approaches to handling a dog that they lack the simple understanding of and deem them as cruel and unusual when in reality it’s no different then a human child displaying very rash and dangerous behaviors and needing a harsher implementation of boundaries, structure and reinforcement while also maintaining praise approval and acceptance to the grand things they’ve accomplished. A prime example would be to bake a cake. You can’t cook a delicious cake with just flour and eggs. Important ingredients are needed for the whole thing to come together and that’s the same concept that should be implied with balance training a dog. Not every problem will be fixed with simply just praise and treats. There is NOTHING wrong with implying tools to help BETTER communicate between the dog and handler but trainer and team however as a trainer that’s supposedly “reputable” I’m appalled about the lack of communication about tools and obviously there’s reason for some objection by the owners because there was zero implication of a new device and the misuse of it without conditioning the dog dog first to have clear understanding I can see why some people have a passion of hate towards these kinds of devices and methods. I do not however agree with having a first consult and session at a dog park with a dog you know nothing about or their struggles let alone a dog that weighs over 130 pounds and the owners are clearly seeking guidance. Sheena’s approach sounds very bland and not amusing what so ever. I’ve had a more straight forward time with a drive through lady at jack in the box at 2 am on a caffeine crash. It’s a recipe for disaster and it doesn’t lock in a place of solid trust. I am not comfortable in an enclosed area with at least a dozen dogs of ALL sizes ages and temperament rushing a large breed dog when a training session is suppose to be in a very minor stimulation area that way the trainer can actually assess the issue at hand and start to build a good relationship with the client so they can move forward in the approach to help the dog. The other issue I have is with the harsh push for service dog training. Houston already has an absolute horrible issue with people misrepresenting their unruly and aggressive and highly stimulate dog as a tasked trained service dog that have ultimately charged, corner or disturbed my own medical alert and response service dogs training and when asked about the trainer it always, Puptown. You guys should BE ashamed of the way you’re allowing the very fragile representation of important medical devices to be ruined by your name. It sounds like a cash grab to me. I would find it hard to say this facility has a solid level of understanding on the ENTIRETY of the service dog subject and should not be endorsing it as a service they provide. The amount of doodles and poodles I’ve run into who came after my dog or caused a massive disturbance that ultimately made the place of business cause severe access issues to not only me but the other handlers in the area is awful. It’s gotten out of hand. Lastly I will say in their defense if you have a major objection to working dog training, personal protection, bite work and sports or any other highly stimulating training you probably should not own a dog. Just because you think a dog should be a couch potato and receive food scraps and be allowed to disrespect other dogs boundaries and humans too doesn’t mean that any facility training under these circumstance are horrible people and claim fraudulent accusations of them abusing animals. You’re working with a living thing that does not communicate the same way we humans do. Every single dog and cat should have basic obedience training regardless of your beliefs that’s why there are so many issues with dogs attacking other dogs and dogs attacking humans. The mindset we have now in this industry is major disturbance. Y’all please do better

MobyLu loves this facility. We trust no one else! They’ve trained her and love her…which is all we could ask for! During the storm, they made sure that all of the animals were safe and cared for.

We took the Nanook to the Shiloh church rd. Location. When we took her there, my stress and anxiety was SO high. She was barking jumping, pulling on her walks. And after taking her there, she is 100% a different puppy, but the same puppy. She is so well-behaved. She listens to all of our commands. She's no longer jumping or play bitting. After some time here at home, she now knows that when somebody comes in the door she is to go to her climb. We are so impressed with everything that puptown has taught us. We highly recommend puptown to everyone. I can't say enough about how much they have helped us.

Went to a meet and greet on Saturday with my 2 year old rescue that barks from the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to sleep. The lady I met with was so nice and quickly assessed her as a dog that barks to demand something, she was not wrong. She gave us a few tips to try at home and if that didn’t work to bring her in for a real lessons. It is still a work in progress but with one 30 min meet and greet we have seen a tremendous difference. She can now lay with us while we work rather than having to be in the living room. I love this place and couldn’t recommend it enough.

My pup, Jack Jack, has been a puppy student of Puptown Houston for over a year now. Sheena and her team have treated him as though he is part of their family. From the moment he was a little 3lb puppy to a year and a half later. The trainers love to see Jack Jack and he equally loves to see them when he gets to stay with them while I am out of town. I am so grateful for their training services, refreshers and boarding when needed. If you have struggles with training your puppy and life is just too busy, leave it up to puptown. They definitely have you covered. From basics and even special service trainings. Not sure what I would do without them!

We have been taking our Doberman to Sheena since he was 14 weeks old and he is 8 months old now. Sheena likes to get to know what type of training is best for each home situation. She even made a couple trips to our house to observe how our dog acted around our grandchildren. Their facilities are always clean, the handlers are well experienced and our dog always smelled great when we picked him up. I would definitely recommend Puptown!!

I dropped off my dog for a puppy training program that cost me almost $2700. I was promised that my dog would be perfect and trained in all aspects of the program. I informed them that my dog already had basic training, such as sitting down and staying. The reason I enrolled my dog in this program is because he barks all night, lacks socialization, bites the leash, doesn't heel properly, behaves poorly during grooming, and doesn't listen off-leash. I explained all these issues to them, which are covered in their puppy program.Every day, they sent me a picture of my dog sitting. I assumed that was all he was being trained on, which disappointed me. When I went to pick him up on Monday, I was told it was actually Saturday. No one had informed me of the change. Since I had driven all the way there, I requested to see my dog. However, one of the trainers said I needed an appointment to see him. Despite the confusion, they retrieved my dog for me.When I got my dog on Saturday, the trainer mentioned that when I say "sit," he should stay without needing the command "stay." Additionally, he advised saying "heel" while walking. Initially, my dog didn't listen to "sit" due to excitement, but he started improving. However, the "heel" command was a disaster; my dog wasn't heeling at all.Upon returning home, I noticed no changes. The barking, trash-eating, and lack of heeling persisted. I brought him in for grooming and nail clipping on Monday, but the groomer asked me to pick him up early because he was out of control. I called the lady to express my disappointment with the program, but she promised to consult the training lady and get back to me. Despite waiting a week, I haven't heard back.I was initially drawn in by positive reviews, but now it seems those reviews might be fake.I got scammed, taking my money without providing me the promised services.updateI want to express my gratitude to Elliot and Sheena for their exceptional assistance with my dog training issue. They have consistently followed up with me, providing outstanding customer service. I would also like to extend my thanks to the individual who consistently calls me to schedule the training sessions and checks in on the progress of my dog's training. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. I'd like to apologize and offer my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the tremendous help, hard work, and training you've provided for my dog.
