I’ve been a loyal customer for almost five years. Although I take my cat in annually, she recently appeared sick and in pain over the weekend. Called first thing Monday morning to get her in for an emergency appointment.No availability until the next day. Okay, do they recommend any other vets if her condition worsens? Front desk gave me a couple acronyms - no full name let alone a number to call. Annoying, but figured it was just a personnel thing.Brought my cat in the next day. They took some blood to rule out anything more serious and said the latest I should hear back is the next morning. Two days went by - no call. I called to check in. Front desk person was audibly annoyed that I called at 4pm on a Friday. No results, said they’d call me Monday.It’s been three weeks. This is the second time it’s been like pulling teeth to get any kind of feedback on blood work. Which is a shame because the vets and the vet techs are fantastic and so kind.I was willing to overlook the lack of follow-through and reception’s poor customer service when my pet was otherwise healthy. But it in an emergency? It was enough to make me look elsewhere.

I needed a same day appointment for a more emergent visit and they were able to fit me in that day! The visit wasn’t long and the secretary, vet tech, and vet were nothing short of exceptional. I was very impressed and am very grateful.

Giving honest feedback about my experience with our first visit.It was my first time taking in my pup for her wellness check and my pup was pretty late with socialization (she was 16 wks old already and I have only had her for 1 week so we haven’t had much time to do training/exposure).I called to make an appointment and they had next day availability- so that was great! It was a simple and an easy process, so props to them for good availability.When I called before the appointment, they requested a $30 deposit. This is the first time I’ve encountered the first visit deposit but I know not all vets require that, but just FYI this place will require a deposit.My puppy was extremely shy and the tech acknowledged that. We struggled at first to weigh her on the scale because it was her first time and as a shy puppy, I can assume this was a very scary place so she was not cooperative.We finally go inside the rooms and she was anxious and nervous (later on I learned the importance of bringing food/treats to make it less scary for pets). The same tech came in the room to do the pre-checks. Again, the tech had already acknowledged my puppy was uncomfortable and anxious about this whole experience. The tech was also struggling to check her vitals but proceeded with the checks.My puppy had already cowered down to the ground and I could tell she was extremely stressed. The tech was getting impatient and then decided to grab her to keep her from moving around, thinking that this will help ease the process for the checks.My puppy freaked out because in her point of view, there was a big scary stranger reaching within her space to poke her with all these new gadgets. Because of the tech’s decision to reach down and grab her, my puppy got spooked; she peed and expressed her anal glands and became visibly stressed about the situation.Because of this negative interaction, I was very put off about the experience they had put my puppy through- later on, my puppy became very cautious and afraid of strangers- she definitely struggled meeting new people, so we had a loooong way ahead to socialize her and desensitize her to that. Any time someone would try to pet her, she avoids them and would hide behind me :-(The only redeeming part was when we had met with the vet. I think we worked with Dr. Perry, and she seemed like she had more experience handling shy and scared pups. Dr. Perry was patient and provided a lot of positive reinforcements (talking to the puppy, giving puppy lots of cheese treats) and made my puppy’s time more pleasurable, so because of that I could tell my puppy felt a bit more comfortable with her.As a first time puppy owner, I had no clue what I was doing and I had no idea how to handle the situation. I gave my full trust to the Montrose Veterinary Clinic’s team and gave them good faith that they will be able to give my puppy the care and attention she needed. But due to the lack of patience and care that we received from our visit is the reason for this low rating. Again, the only redeeming part was working with Dr. Perry and the quick availability. I think it would be good to remind the team a better way to handle all their patients because reaching down to grab an afraid and shy dog was not a very good approach.

Wonderful vet that works with Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston. Very kind staff, great location and good pricing. If you are looking for a Vet, they are a Solid Veterinary choice.

So happy I found this clinic! Dr. Perry is so wonderful - I have nothing but great things to say. Her bedside manner from a perspective of your pet is so calm and non-threatening. Her bedside manner as a pet owner is knowledgeable, confident, and easy to understand. My dog needed surgery and I felt like he was in great hands, while also getting pricing up front - which is huge!! He’s fully healed now with no scar! The vet techs are also super caring and understanding. I unfortunately had to let one know that my dog may bite since he could be sometimes be uncomfortable with males and he was so understanding and quickly found a replacement. I’d definitely recommend them!

Montrose Veterinary Clinic: A Little Overpriced, But My Dog Is Feeling Much Better NowI recently took my dog to Montrose Veterinary Clinic for a check-up, and I was a little surprised by the price. The exam itself was reasonable, but the additional tests and medications were quite expensive.However, I'm happy to say that my dog is feeling much better now. The vet was very thorough, and she took the time to answer all of my questions. I also appreciated the fact that they were able to squeeze me in on short notice.Overall, I would say that Montrose Veterinary Clinic is a good option if you're looking for quality care. However, be prepared to pay a premium.Pros:Quality care: The vet was very thorough and knowledgeable.Convenient location: The clinic is located in Montrose, which is a convenient location for me.Quick turnaround: They were able to squeeze me in on short notice.Cons:Expensive: The prices were a little higher than I expected.Long wait times: The wait times can be long, especially during peak hours.Overall:I would recommend Montrose Veterinary Clinic to anyone who is looking for quality care, but be prepared to pay a premium.Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

It’s true what other reviews have said, the staff and doctors (I’ve only met one so far) truly care about animals and our furry loved ones. The front desk greeted me professionally and politely and my overall experience was pleasant. I do recommend

I can’t speak much to the other vets, but I have continuously had a wonderful experience with Dr Meredith Perry. She is very compassionate with my animals and kind. She takes time answering your questions and makes you feel at ease! We are so grateful for her!
