Driving down Washington Ave + hungry = a salivating end result. I've been here twice before for breakfast, but today was the day for a plate lunch. I love authentic, hidden gem bodegas. I forgot to take a photo of the lineup! Doh! What caught my eye? Chicken mole + green tomatillo stewed pork. Both with rice, beans, one flour and one corn tortilla = $8.99 + tax. -Chicken mole: My first words after taking a bite were, "Hole-lee-schitt." The chicken was "fall of the bone" tender and the mole packed flavor, carrying a perfect balance of spice. -Green tomatillo stewed pork: The tomatillo flavor highlights this dish. -Rice: average -Beans: average -Corn tortilla / Flour tortilla: average I ate half minutes after stepping through my front door, then the other half for dinner. Go today. Don't think about it, just go.

My husband and I live a few blocks from Midtown Food Mart. The Mexican food here is phenomenal. They make fresh tortillas and the food is authentic. Her mole and pork in green sauce is to die for. I highly recommend this place for delicious Mexican food. I like Taqueria Laredo, but I don't understand all the hype. The food here is much better. Trust the locals. Come here instead.

Ok...this is a weird review, because I don't know the actual proper name for the food corner inside this convenience store. If you want REAL Mexican food...and VERY GOOD MEXICAN FOOD... you need to go here. I have had every single dish here and without exception, they are all very very good. I would say this is the best Mexican food place I have ever eaten ANYWHERE. Forget el tiempo or el rey... just forget it. What they lack in branding or ambience, they more than make up in taste!!! I found this by accident and now it's the only place I go if I want Mexican. You won't be disappointed.

My coworker recommended the menudo from here since we work nearby and I was craving it, it's actually pretty good. We're Mexican so we know how it's supposed to taste.

Went in for a quick morning drink. A lot of items are expired or really old.
