Nice friendly people, but room 409 has roaches, not very clean. One roach was going for my coffee and the other is by the refrigerator. I been in some bad places before. Didn't expect roaches for the price and a 100 deposit they require. I have photos of the roaches and the messy kitchen. Cabinets had roach poop in them, also the toaster had roach poop in it. It's one I won't pick again. Due to roaches, roaches travel and don't wish to have the nasty invasion I now have to strip my bags before getting in my car! A clean process I didn't need the stress on since we was in town for my dad to have major surgery on his face! I wish I could post pictures but I'll send them to corporate!Noteworthy details: Bring bug spray

Excellent service from staff members. Close to Texas Medical Center with free shuttle service. The kitchen and dishwasher are great for extended stays. A suite for the price of a room.

The price was okay but everything was a miserable experience, our room smelled, curtains were broken and the staff, especially one gentleman was very unfriendly and unhelpful to my questions and would rather smoke his joint and get high on the job, very professional.

Rotten shower curtain that was falling off and a request for it to be replaced ended up replacing it myself as no maintenance was avail, dishwasher jammed under counter, cracked countertop, remote doesn't work, batteries replaced but still doesn't work so no TV and maintenance not avail. Free breakfast doesn't exist, shuttle does not run on weekends so if you have an M D Anderson appt find some way to get there. Very disappointed in the quality and care. Worn out furniture (duct taped arm on couch), peacock was not avail to watch NFL playoffs.

This hotel is the a little below the bare minimum which would be 3 stars but I didn’t feel safe. There was a massive opening between the door and frame where you could see into the hallway. Yes, my door was locked but I didn’t feel safe so I even went so far to put the chair under the handle. The walls were so thin and with the gap I could hear everyone talk and walk by. I only stayed for maybe 8 hours but it did have a decent kitchenette. The shower curtain was falling apart, the furniture was like someone’s grandma’s bedroom, and the bedding was only a blanket, sheet, and a weird ugly cover thing. Updates are needed, guests should feel safe, and I will be paying more next time at a different hotel for peace of mind.

I recently had an appointment at MD Anderson for some tests and, being unfamiliar with the area, I searched for nearby lodging to make a 0900 appointment. Unfortunately, it seemed as if all the hotels were out of my price range but I was able to choose MainStay Suites Texas Medical Center/Reliant Park from a list provided by MD Anderson. It was budget friendly and very close to the huge medical complex where MD Anderson is located. I was told to plan to be available for 3-5 days for tests and I reserved online for 3 days. Turns out, I only needed one day and Mainstay Suites allowed me to cancel without any penalty. The rooms (suites) are spacious and mine, at least, had a DVD player, full sized refrigerator, a full sized stove, coffee maker with coffee, a dishwasher, and a microwave. The room was stocked with paper towels, pots and pans, plates, and silverware - basically everything you'd need except for the food! They also provide shuttle service to the Texas Medical Center and it appears many of the guests were medical patients. There was an outdoor pool and an extensive library of free DVDs checked out at reception. I highly recommend this property for the well though conveniences in the rooms, as well as being only five minues from the Texas Medical Center.Nearby activities: Rexas Medical CenterNoteworthy details: There's very little of interest in the area, and there are no dining options nearby and the property seems to cater mostly to those in town for medical purposes. Stock up on food from the market and prepare meals in the well stocked kitchens in the rooms.

I needed a place to stay as a live donor at MD ANDERSON. It was inexpensive. The staff was (mostly) friendly, the shuttle driver really rubbed me the wrong way. Across the street is some sort of warehouse facility that seems to run a 3rd shift operation so on week nights it was very noisy with 18-wheelers backing up all night. BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! Maybe bring earplugs or sound machine? There is no continental breakfast, probably my own fault for assuming they had one. Also, the shuttle only runs on weekdays. I needed to be at MD Anderson everyday. Fortunately it is close so Uber wasn’t expensive but I felt it was misleading to advertise shuttle service when it runs on bankers hours. Also, the shuttle driver acted like he would pick me up whenever I called him, giving me a card with his number to call whenever I needed. No. He only does pick ups once an hour. I passed out waiting for a ride outside MDA in the heat after having injections. Also, probably my own fault, just making others aware. It’s not excellent service, just good enough to get by.

2nd floor smelled like fish, 4th floor didn't have A/C in the halls and the parking lot smelled like horse manure. Other than that service was nice and rooms were clean.

Rooms wouldn’t stay cool with three functional air conditioners. Hotel is old and looks very run down. No turn down service or cleaning of any kind. No breakfast unless you buy overpriced items from the front desk. Hallways have odd odors. Toilets are eco, which is good, but it takes 3-4 flushes which would seem to defeat the purpose. No towels in the room. Wouldn’t stay here again, but the front desk staff was nice and helpful, location was convenient.

This hotel has the potential to be nice, but there were many details that were overlooked. Fixtures were installed crooked or off-center. The bedroom was so tiny that there was only one table beside the bed, so there was nowhere to put a necessary medical device. We were very disappointed that despite breakfast being on the website, it had been discontinued. A free hot breakfast was a big factor in choosing this hotel. We likely would not choose this hotel again based on these factors.

A bit of a shady area, but room and bedding was very clean, nice kitchenette, ice cold AC. Service mediocre but I think I caught the desk lady at the end of her shift, she seemed tired. Nice pool, and fitness room is definitely usable. Overall, good experience especially for the bargain price. Would stay again next time I'm in Houston.

I just moved into town with my mom and we Stayed here for a few days. A couple days into our stay we were having problems with the front desk workers. My mom went to go extend the room for another night before she goes to work at 7am and she asked the guy if he needed her card. He tell her no and comes back later and gives her the room key. I’m (her daughter) still in the room while she went to work, wakes up to house keeping tell me I need to leave when my mom has already spoke to them about extending the room. I call the front desk and tell them there must be a mistake and she tell me there’s no mistake. She told me she didn’t see my mother come down but I later find out that the girl behind the desk was never there!!! So why are you saying you never seen her if you weren’t there. So come to find out he never extended the room for us but told my mother that he did!!! They weren’t very apologetic and were taking his side like we had a reason to lie or something. I want to say the next day me and my mom went out and came back to the room after eating to find our room door locked from the inside due to the privacy latch over the door. I would say it’s about 9 or 10 pmThe lady who was there who happened to be the manager told us there’s nothing she can do until the morning. She told us this has never happened before…. But we find out from somebody else at the hotel that it in fact does and she could’ve called somebody. Me (the daughter) ends up gets the door open without the managers help. I feel like she could’ve help or tired to do something but she just sat behind the desk until her replacement came. I also feel like we should’ve got a discount due to the worker not extending our room and lying saying she never came downstairs. The shuttle driver was the only nice worker there.
