Ladies stay away from this jcp location. I wouldn't recommend if you have thick 4c hair and actually want to keep it. Abbey is the worst stylist. I have two small bald spots from her yanking and combing my hair out while washing my hair. I even told her she was rough but it didn't help much. She claimed she was highly experienced with natural hair but didn't know how to properly blow dry my hair. She asked me to how I usually do my hair and I had to tell her I part my hair into 6 to 7 pieces and blowdry from the ends to the roots to keep the hair from breaking. I didn't even allow her to finish cause she was so rough and my hair kept popping when she was combing my hair. I ended up having to speaking with management about it. That didn't do much.
Needless to say, i wont be returning. I'll post pics of how she left me looking on the way out.

I had an amazing experience at JCPenney Salon! I came in for a silk press and was pretty nervous because I have 4C hair that I had neglected for a while — it was dry and damaged. Aubrey, my stylist, was absolutely incredible! She was so professional, patient, and friendly. She took her time, made me feel comfortable, and gave me great tips on how to better care for my hair moving forward. After the silk press, my hair was so clean, healthy, and bouncy! I couldn’t believe how good it looked and felt. 10/10 experience — I’ll definitely be back!

Kim at JCPenney Salon is hands down one of the best stylists I’ve ever had! I have chemically treated and color-treated hair, and she knows exactly how to care for it with precision and professionalism. My hair stays healthy, vibrant, and full of life—her hands are truly gifted.
What I appreciate most is her attention to detail and the care she puts into each appointment. Kim takes the time to consult, treat, and style in a way that always leaves me feeling confident and refreshed. Whether it’s a relaxer, color touch-up, or a polished style, she consistently delivers beautiful results.
If you’re looking for a stylist who understands how to care for processed hair and still keep it looking flawless, Kim is the one to book with. Highly recommend!

I have been coming to this salon off and on for years, and it’s the same old thing, can’t get a good stylist who knows how to style and treat my hair. This last lady, her name is Kim, at first she told me that she can style natural hair, she stated that she is a Master stylist..🤔she attempted to do a rod set for a mohawk , a total failure. She put so much product in my hair that it’s stiff and dry. Then this woman had the nerve to tell me that she spent a lot of time on my hair so I wouldn’t get a refund for a messy hair style. It’s not about the money but what the accountability? Smh. I will never come here ever again.

I had a FANTASTIC and AWESOME experience with Aubrey. After, not being able to have my hair done for some time due to illness. Aubrey did a STUPENDOUS job, she relaxed, shampoo, conditioned, trimmed, and styled my hair. I definitely will return to the salon.

Do NOT book with Lucy Simpson. I came in for a 2 inch trim, layers, and hair thinning. Lucy didnt realize she cut 7 INCHES OFF. Im not sure why she is considered a “master stylist” this lady doesnt know the difference between 1-7 inches. She didnt even give me layers or thin out my hair. Lucy literally did a freestyle on my head for some reason. when she washed my hair, it was a bad experience as well. I obviously did not pay a dime for it, but its not about the money. It took me a long time to grow out my hair and for LUCY to cut 7 inches without noticing is crazy. The manager Latorcsha, did try her best to make things better by giving me a $200 gift card but to be honest that did absolutely nothing for someone who took 5 years to grow out their hair just to get $200. I just wanted 2 inches off but i ended up leaving traumatized and left with nothing I wanted. This salon also has zero diversity which is disappointing because everyone has different hair and i never took that into consideration until i went to this salon.

Today I received services by Aubrey. The customer service was AMAZING!!!!! I received highlights and a silk press. I LOVE the end results!!!! I WILL be returning.

I want to thank Miriam for helping me today. Miriam went above and beyond to rectify my experience today. I scheduled an appointment online with a stylist, Aby, at Meyerland JcPenny salon. Aby canceled my appointment without informing me. Aby stated that she did not know how to use clippers. She then asked me what I wanted to do with my hair and if I had a picture. I wore my hair in a pixie cut and wanted a simple clean-up. She asked me when was my last relaxer and did I put my color because my hair was green. She then insinuated if I didn’t want her to do my hair, she could pass me to another stylist. It was clear to me she did not want to do my hair. I informed her that I would prefer another stylist, and then Miriam stated she could do my hair. I appreciate Miriam's professionalism. She educated me on the products that I should and should not use. As Miriam began to cut my hair, I felt at ease after that unprofessional conversation. I highly recommend Miriam; she is a master stylist.Services: Shampoo & conditioning
