I am Dutch and lived in Europe most of my life. I love IKEA, and think they have some amazing products. They are also a great store to come for me inspiration for interior design. However, at their Houston store NO ONE is motivated. We tried getting help from staff members, but you are quickly ignored (even though we came twice now on a calm monday morning), and the restaurant staff refuse to make hot water for my pregnant wife even though the machine is right there.I recommend trying a different location if you have the chance.

it’s fun to go every once in a while. the furniture isn’t really affordable anymore and the food is alright for the price. it’s mostly for the experience and to get decorating ideas

The furniture was pretty awesome, but the maze like layout was a little stressful and then there was the super fun alarm malfunction:)

There should be a warning on the front door saying "3-hour minimum" ?

The Houston store has really gone downhill the last couple of years. They NEVER have what I want to purchase in stock. Yes, I do check online before I make the 40 minutes drive to the store. The employees are not there to help customers - I was ripped a new one by two of them from two different departments, probably would have been a third - but I couldn't find anyone to help me upstairs - dodged that bullet. I left my print out of the items I wanted to purchase at home so I asked for help in the self-service area and was told "no, if you don't have an item number I can't help you." So someone explain to me why this idiot was standing at a computer in a customer service role??? He was a complete Asshat. I stood in the very long line to check out what I could find to purchase when the next jerk shot her mouth off. The customers were all lined up nicely and there were no issues. The line was feeding two registers. We were all cooperating and taking turns. The banshee at register 13 started screaming at all of us to stay in one line, stop spreading out and not to go up to a register until we were told to do. It was totally inappropriate. She ripped into a very nice man that was directly in front of me with two carts (flatbed) trying to manage - those things go everywhere on their own- she ripped into him because he was out of line and taking up too much space - really?? Back off Bi*$h. She literally yelled at the guy like 4 times. TOTALLY uncalled for and inappropriate. I tried to talk to a member of management to relate what I had experienced - no one is available according to the staff in the customer service and order pick up area. A young man radioed someone who told me just to fill out the review online - so here I go- IKEA use to be great - now it sucks. Don't waste your time going to a store without any stock or anyone to help you.

Employees are nice but prices are misleading and deceiving. I purchased the black Alex drawer here and was led to believe it was $89, but it turned out to be 110 when checked out. When I asked about it, an employee asked me to show them a picture. I walked all the way back and showed them the picture, but she said there's nothing she can do. She asked if I wanted to speak to her manager instead, and she came. The manager was anything but empathetic and just said that it was only for the white one despite the tags only showing $89 everywhere. She reiterated multiple times "if you want, we can go back there and also scan the code". I said it's fine and left. Not to mention all prices have gone up about 25% throughout every product category except the cheap stuff like plates and accessories. Overall 1/10 experience.

One register open on the holidays with a half dozen employees standing around. Absolutely ludicrous! Avoid shopping here during the holidays or be prepared to wait in long lines

People talk like this place has the cheapest stuff with good quality but I rather go with Amazon and have it delivered free at my doorstepThis place is waste of time and funny part you cannot take your cart in elevator to top floors ! How am I supposed to shop or how am I supposed to carry stuff which is in cart ?The restaurant were out of hot dogs mid day and they hardly have any items on menu to even try! Drove an hour just to waste my day for nothingThis is my personal experienceNo such deals to be amazedEvery big item to be delivered has a delivery feeThings are actually expensive than AmazonWouldn’t go again

Our experiences at IKEA vary based on store location and specific products, but overall, IKEA has gained a positive reputation for its affordability, design, and variety of products. Whether we are looking for a small decor item or furnishing an entire home, IKEA is often seen as a go-to option for budget-friendly and stylish solutions.
