I checked in late and around 10pm I found out my TV wasn't working. The reception desk said tech guy had left.Around 730am I get a call from front desk If the tech guy can come over he came he fixed tv and it was working. At checkout I asked if points could be given to me in lieu of the faulty tv set.
Desk person said they could not give me the points
1) because room was booked through my company
2) they couldn't give me the points directly to my Hyatt account.
I found both excuses ridiculous and that's the type of service you'll get.
A worldwide hotel chain can't give its customers a few measly points.
Shameful.
There isn't a -star option for service so I can award it....

The Hyatt Place Houston at the Galleria is a wonderful hotel. Large rooms, beautiful pool, and wonderful lobby area! A huge shout out to the whole staff for making it a memorable trip - in particular, Israel who provided us with wonderful hospitality every morning when we ordered our morning coffee! We will be back!

The room was neat and clean. And quite big for a std room.
I stayed here for almost a week. They serve breakfast. Unfortunately the menu always the same.. i suggest they should try new menu at least change every 2.days! So boring
The cleaning service only clean the bed and bath room. However the used glassess, still on the table not washed.
Overall. I give 4 stars to this hotel, due to the area near galleria..at least we still can have a walk around
Safety: Security good

The service was horrible the room was dirty. I got a bad rash on my arm and legs. The front desk supervisor Chelsea over charged me with no explanation. This was the worst experience I ever received from a hotel . I will never visit again

We were going on a family cruise and stopped by Houston for few days. The Hyatt Place Galleria was a great centralized location. We even walked to many of the places around including the Water Wall and The Galleria. Chelsea pre-arranged the rooms for our family and Arianna delivered the welcome amenity and checked us in. The personalized touch was the tea kettle for the family. We even got a personalized welcome card from Queenie. Abdul at the valet was super friendly and accommodated our in and out needs. All the attention to detail and going above and beyond from the staff at this hotel was well noticed and appreciated. Not to mention the daily complimentary breakfast and I got to capture a time lapse of the beautiful sunset!

Mold in the rooms. Woke up with a terrible headache and dry inflamed sinuses.
Install air filters for your rooms and use bleach to clean the mold ?

The hotel is well located and easily accessible, close to the Galleria Shopping Mall. Those who like spacious rooms can rest assured that the hotel offers this type of environment. The service is a little lacking, with a typical American breakfast without many options. There is valet parking.

It is located near the Galleria, and the rooms were clean. I used a king size room and it was comfortable. The room was well maintained during the day, so breakfast was a bit disappointing.
Rooms: The rooms are neatly maintained.

Horrible woman at front desk was proudly using ableist slurs as we walked up to check in. When I told her it was inappropriate to use the phrase, she maintained that it was totally fine because it wasn’t directed towards us or a guest, but was part of her personal conversation.
Safety: I feel completely unsafe in an environment where the employees are ableist.

If you plan on coming anytime after 9 PM make sure that the valet parks the car in the garage and in a safe place. We realized after we had requested the car for our stay that the valet had parked our car outside the gate into the parking. Service is pretty average especially late night. Location and breakfast are the only positives but I would expect that our car would be better taken care of with them charging for the valet parking.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Place Galleria, and overall, it was a nice and uneventful visit. The front staff was friendly and inviting, making the check-in process smooth.
The rooms, while a bit dated, have full blackout sliding shades, which are great for getting restful sleep. The bed was very comfy, and the towels were new, fresh, and soft. However, the noise suppression from the hallway is hit or miss, and it can get noisy at times. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but nice. The walk-in shower had great pressure, but it was dirty and missing grout on many of the floor tiles, which required some caution while walking.
The AC was a bit loud and took about 5 hours to cool the room from the auto setting of 74 degrees to 68 degrees.
We did not eat the complimentary breakfast, but it smelled good. Valet service was semi-quick, but the elevators were slow, and the reception being on the 3rd floor was a bit inconvenient for a downtown hotel. The only annoying part was that they required valet parking despite there being plenty of parking spaces available for self-parking.
Overall, I would give the stay a 3 out of 5. The hotel has potential, but a few improvements could make the experience much better.
