Overview: Decent staff but an aging and worn out Marriott. Tons of road noise in some rooms. Arrival: Arrived by car. Valet offered valet parking. No doorman present to help with bags. Check in: Good check in experience. Arrived at noon and no problem with checking in early.Room (1221): On the concierge lounge level. Ancient carpet, worn out furniture, worn out bed, just plain old. All the normal Marriott room items including TV, mini refrigerator, mini coffee maker, etc. Very, very bad sound insulation. The highway noise from Loop 610 was horrible! Bathroom: Had a real bathtub which was a bonus. But the bathroom ceiling was gross, stained, and some of the ceiling tiles were loose. Adequate counter space. Good hair dryer. Bed: Old bed.WiFi: strong wifi. Ran an nperf test. 186 Mb download/ 212 Mb upload speed. Excellent wifi speeds for remote working. Misc: (1) Ask for a room not facing 610. (2) Great location near the Galeria. Tons of restaurants, shopping, much more all within minutes of this hotel.

Location: This is in a great location off of 610 and one exit from the Galleria Mall. There are so many restaurant, shopping and other things within a few miles away. A car is required to get to the mall and other places. While the lobby and common areas have been remodeled the rooms need a refresh. Room: we stayed in 1221 which is on the same level as the Concierge Lounge. The room is a small room with traditional Marriott amenities: TV, mini fridge, single coffee maker, ice bucket. The room is old and showing wear, but the King size bed was comfortable and the pillows were comfy, fluffy, and large. I was able to use one for a body pillow. The sleep quality was poor due to the traffic from 610. While you couldn't hear the noise from the adjoining rooms, 610 noise kept us awake. Maybe a room not facing the highway would be better?Bathroom: Old Marriott with a tub which was nice. The tub was clean and I was able to soak in the tub. The light is decent so that you can apply makeup easily. The counter was a bit low, but there is plenty of counter space. The hair dryer was subpar. The bathroom was the wall mount shampoo and conditioner, the brand "This Works" is a decent volumizing shampoo and conditioner.Concierge Lounge: Located on the 12th floor stocked water, soda, coffee, tea and snacks. Evening snack is provided and breakfast was served. Had breakfast and the eggs were tolerable with hot sauce. The pastries were old and stale. The Keurig coffee maker was a nice touch but slow. The coffee at the entry was much faster.

I was in town for an event this weekend and stayed at this hotel during my time period here. I was incredibly disappointed by the rooms. The welcome area was nice but the hallways and rooms were very dated. Our shower did not drain and the room felt dirty. Giving this hotel 2 stars because of the lovely welcome area and the location. I will not stay at this hotel again.

The Marriott saved our family reunion room hotel stay. We were booked at another hotel that was less than desirable and at the 11th hour we switched to this property and they welcomed us royally! London was so accommodating to us throughout our whole stay and she took care of us like it was no bother at all!!! She went above and beyond as did Ameer, in the restaurant, who took care of us and served appetizers one and half hours before the appointed time for 70 people as if it was not an inconvenience!! The rooms for the most part were okay, there were some rooms that needed attention but it comes with wear and tear! The main thing was the baths were clean and the bedding and beds were clean and comfortable. We descended on the property within days of booking and they put us on the same 3 floors as not to disturb other guests. Amir on the front desk, was the one to assist in this request! He was amazing! His whole staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional! We really had a great time at this location with plenty of amenities located within walking distance i.e. fast food, Target, restaurants. Located right off of I-610 made it an easy off and on. The pool is located indoors which made our pool party very enjoyable in this hot and humid heat!We are so glad to have stayed here and if in the area will return. Their AAA, senior and military rates made it very affordable to stay there for multiple days. They also have a free shuttle to take you to the Galleria.

Really disappointed in this hotel all around. It's an embarrassment for the Marriott brand. The room was disgusting, beds were overused & uncomfortable and the restaurant served everything using plastic. The ceilings are super low in the bathrooms so when I was showering I was pretty close to the ceiling tiles. The amount of dust, grime & pure filth in between each ceiling tile almost made me puke. It was so bad that I think the air I was breathing in the room was borderline toxic. I had the two worst nights of sleep & cut my trip short a day so I could get out of there asap. I definitely will not stay here ever again & im not sure I'll ever stay at a Marriott again.

Horrible hotel. Incompetent people work in the front desk. 4-star lobby with 2-star room. I picked this hellhole only because it close to my office for the week I worked in Houston, if you have been in here you would know this city is not very pedestrian friendly. The only washer and dryer are out of order which forced me to use their laundry service since there is no coin operated laundromat within walking distance. On the day I checked out, the system was down and I can't even get a receipt, provided my e-mail address to send it to and was promised it will be sent within hours but got nothing. WI-FI scams you to believe it's free for guests in the hotel and $17.99 only if you need enhanced connection, but get charged 14.99 per day. Stay out of this place at all cost.

I'm a frequent traveler and titanium member. This particular hotel has some of the most helpful and friendly staff I've encountered in YEARS. The check in was welcoming, efficient, helpful and pleasant after a long day of travel delays. The bartender was prompt, friendly, and engaging. And the concierge level server was very attentive and helpful. The room was a bit in need of maintenance attention in the bathroom, but I can overlook that for the superb service provided. It's rare these days and I appreciate the effort to hire hospitable people and provide training to have this kind of service culture. Fellow road warriors will appreciate being made to feel like they matter. Thank you!

The staff at this particular hotel were amazing. So friendly and courteous. Sayd, Mimi, Alice at the bar/restaurant, Juan (manager), Jose, who manages shipping your equipment were all super people. Not one employee ignored us. The accommodations were okay, but the staff, second to none.If the hotel was nicer, I would have given it 5 stars, however it's not a JW Marriott and my room was facing a wall.

In all fairness - the only reason this place gets the second star out of me is the price I paid. Let me explain. When traveling, I often use Hotwire.com, using their "hotrate"s on a hotel. For the uninitiated, you choose a hotel based on location, reviews, number of stars, amenities, etc. All you DON'T KNOW is the name of the hotel. In return, you get HUGE discounts. For example, I got a room here for $85 night when it's reportedly $200+, simply because I didn't know the name of the hotel I was booking. Anyway, this place was described as a 4-star hotel. What I found was a run down, old, ugly looking building. Nothing about this hotel was 4-stars. No way. In fact, it literally felt like a DYING HOTEL just barely staying open. No room service, limited hours in the restaurant (possibly covid related?) - the only thing they had to offer after the restaurant closed was a small "pantry" with stuff you could buy way cheaper at 7 Eleven. The room was small and cramped...and no one I interacted with behind the front desk gave you the "warm an fuzzies".Oh, and did I mention parking is literally HIGHWAY robbery? This hotel shares a parking garage with an office building and they charge $26.00/night to PARK YOUR CAR YOURSELF.Literally the ONLY thing that made this hotel worth it - was the fact that I only spent $85/night. Had I spent the reported $200+ normal price - I'd been pissed. The picture they use to promote this hotel - is the best feeling you'll get about this place - congrats to their photographer.
