Unbelievable monday night, as a gold member your supposed to hve your car ready when you arrive. Loved the service for years… now They make you fill up everything so they know when you ll arrive! And here i am in a long queue with other people waiting for our cars to be ready with a lady barking at us that we have to stay in line ! What a service! Also found out this summer that booking a car without being gold is actually less expensive … Am through with hertz never again !

Horrible! I am a Gold member and could not get anyone to help me. At the location, I was told that I was gold and to just pick a car. I rented an SUV, yet there were none to choose from.
The first car I picked reeked of weed, as did the second. When I mentioned this at check out, she said "yeah, that's a thing here" ... Ok, as a company, you should clean it so that it does not smell like it!
When I mentioned that there were no SUV's, she responded "huh, I'm surprised, oh well"
It took 15 mins to check out, as she did not know how to use the system, and the people who she asked to help her, did not seem to want to help her.
When I called to discuss this, I was told to go online and leave a message as feedback. So, in person and over the phone, no one was willing to assist.
I'll use another company next time, this was terrible

Do not rent here they are thieves. I made a reservation then when I got there to get it they told me there was a $500 deposit since I was using a debit card so I went to Avis because they have only a $200 deposit if your using a debit card. We'll a few days later I goy a weird $29.12 charge from hertz so they just stole money out of my account and I'm pissed

The only reason this place deserves 5 stars is because of RORY who works on the ground level Hertz and Cheryl J. I had lost my wallet with a ton of CC’s and my DL and went there to check if it had been found since it had only been a day. The front desk ladies on 9/6 at hertz (top level) did not take the appropriate time to just go in the back and ask the lost and found person to check which would have taken 1 min. Instead she just told me to file a claim and they’ll get back to me and sent me to try to find the vehicle in a sea of vehicles and check inside the car:/. Luckily my husband saw RORY when we went downstairs and remembered how helpful and KIND he was when he rented the car. We stood in line and RORY not only was helpful went out of his way and kept calling until he found someone to help. Cheryl located my wallet and immediately brought it down and both apologized for how the process was handled. People like RORY and CHERYL J is why we will continue to rent from Hertz they truly take the time and care about the customers that come there.

Such an awful experience today. I went to pick up a mid size SUV at IAH and was told to wait for it at the President’s Circle. I waited 20 minutes, no car. Then the clerk came over and mistook me for someone else. Then she told me to take the black Nissan Rouge. I get to the exit, only to find out that someone had reserved that specific car, so I could not have it. I was instructed to go back. I told the exit clerk I would not go back, so they offered to bring another mid size SUV to me. I waited another 20 minutes and had to remind them. Finally, someone pulls up with a Subaru crosstrek, which is a compact SUV (not what I paid for). He insisted it was mid size. The inside of the car was so so so hot when I got in. The exit clerk looked at me and asked what was wrong, because I’m sure I looked like I could cry. I was at about an hour and a half at that point. I just needed to go. I could not reach any customer service to talk about it and the social media outreach is totally unhelpful.

Blatantly unhelpful, disorganized. Went to Hertz's desk at airport to add an extra driver. Was told I had to do that at the exit gate after I picked up my car. The rental car was very different than my own. The gears were counterintuitive. When I tried to ask an employee questions she answered one question and walked away. Had to wait at least 15 minutes at the exit gate. If they handled things at the desk where there was no line, they could probably prevent such long lines at the exit gate.

This was the single worst experience I’ve had renting a vehicle. I was rented a vehicle with bad brakes and had a maintenance order on it, why it was rented to me with that order on it? Your guess is as good as mine. Nonetheless, it was and I had it out for two days before I attempted to extend it when I learned this. I was already out of town for work and left the vehicle in my parking garage in Houston for when I returned in two days to drive to Dallas, tx for the next gig. When I returned, the vehicle was gone (rental tow) Along with all of my things, including tools, MY BROTHER’S ASHES (in a necklace packed with my work clothes) from his funeral I attended before I left town, A registered handgun to myself, and expensive cologne. None of these things were ever found or recovered!!!! Irreplaceable things were lost!!!
When I call or go up there all I get is the runaround about going to a different location, calling corporate (They just pass me around to different departments) and each department tells me they can’t help me!! It’s been since May! This is crazy!! Update: Even them commenting on this post is a sham To make it look like they care. See photo below

Be aware, I rented a car for a weekend,
I checked in online for pickup, but when I got there I went to the counter and was told to go downstairs and check for 419, but when I went downstairs there was no one there to help me find the car, I had to figure it out by myself,
Before I return the car I filled it up with gas about 1/2 mile before I return the car,but when I return the car I ask them to inspect the car and I was told to leave the key on the dashboard.
One week later they charge my credit card $64 for 5 gallons of gas and $81 for tolls.

Had to wait 45 minutes for a car in the heat as there were none available when I arrived. The guy in front of me had to wait longer as he had a different car type booked. The whole time we were waiting they had us look at the luxury cars that we could drive away with right then and there for an extra fee.

A few weeks ago I set up my rental through AAA as I was looking to save and waive the young driver fee and deposit. I had some trouble with my reservation as I did something wrong. However, the young woman named Cassandra was great! She was very attentive and asked me a few times if I needed any help. Cassandra pointed me in the right direction when other staff could not. Cassandra also got me the car I preferred rather than a Hamster Car.
