I made a reservation last night for 2 p.m. this afternoon. When I arrived at 2 , no one was at the desk. However, the agent called my cell to tell me that my reservation was at 1 pm and that there were no cars available. If no cars were available, why wasn’t I notified all day long? Why did he say 1 pm reservation when my confirmation clearly stated 2 p.m.? None of this mattered because other customers showed up and learned that apparently, there had not been any cars today long before 2 pm. I returned a rental to another company and took an Uber to your location which was closer to my home. I am out of an unnecessary expense and can’t finish the important meetings I need to attend to today before I have to leave town again. I understand why your CEO was recently fired, but I don’t know why your incompetent agent who was on schedule Wednesday morning at the Westin Galleria location did not have the common courtesy and competency to call me before 2 pm to let me know that Hertz could not honor my reservation.

Waited for 1.5 hours at this location on Friday only to be told that their computers are down. I had to leave without a vehicle because I needed to be somewhere at a certain time. They said I wouldn’t be charged a “no show” fee but I was charged today. When trying to reach this location I continue to get hung up on. I just want my money back!

I booked a car for the weekend and had already paid for it. When I arrived, there was no car available for me. I was told I could wait until a car was available. I left after 90 minutes. I then went to four other car rental companies. Without a reservation, no chance. Had to take a bus and Uber for the weekend. The station itself was understaffed. Had to wait about 15 minutes to be served. In the 90 minutes I waited, the station was temporarily unmanned for 10 or 15 minutes. This is unavoidable when you only have one person at the counter. Naturally, a long queue formed. All in all, the only positive thing was that the employee at the counter was really friendly. But it didn't change the fact that I didn't have a car for the weekend.

I made a reservation over a month ago for my Homecoming at UofH. They never notified me in advance that they would not have any cars. I come the day scheduled to pick up my car and they have no vehicles available nor did they call me in advance. This is not acceptable. This location has no empathy, understanding or compassion. Not even a courtesy call in ADVANCE to let us know that no cars are available. This is the most inconsiderate unprofessional business. This is the third day in a row I book a reservation and I am giving the same response when I show up that there are no cars. I warn you! Do NOT Trust this Hertz. They will book a reservation and make you think you will have a car and when you go to pick up 9 times out of 10 they will hit you with the unfortunately we have no cars, the previous car rentals kept their cars longer. This is why you should have surplus cars to prepaid for these types of issues. 9 times out of 10 they will not respond that’s how you know they just don’t care.

I had a great rental experience, although with a little bit of luck. Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place to rent cars.I really do not know why the reputation is so low. Maybe because only angry people leave reviews, so I am here to compensate the biased overall rating. The whole rental process was as smooth as possible. I got the car instantaneously when I arrived (which was an incredibly good car by the way, given that I rented the cheapest option), it was super clean as well. I did get penalized with a delay charge when returning it just for being 20 minutes late. I thought there would be some tolerance under 30 minutes but it's fine, it was my fault after all.I have to say that when I arrived to return it, there was a girl waiting for a car to be returned because there were no cars for her. So I may say that maybe my rental process was a bit lucky. Also, I didn't leave the car as clean as I received it, and the girl immediatly got my car after I returned it so maybe she didn't have a good experience as I did (she got the car late, and not very clean).Anyway, overall I think the experience (at least from MY personal standpoint) was great.

All round good service and quality, clean car. I picked a car up for a two day hire. Booking it was easy and when I picked it up it was seamless. Michaela explained everything to me then took me to the car, took some pictures of the car and the pictures were promptly emailed to me. On returning, Michaela got the car booked in and checked in good time. I was even given a cool bottle of water for my short walk to the hotel.All in all a very pleasant experience, first class customer service and a nice car to hire.

Horrible service overall. The one star is for the employees being good people. I don’t enjoy leaving bad reviews but I hope people look at these to save time.They are running a money over customer business.The individual that is helping everyone is very nice and very apologetic but unfortunately it took over an hour to move forward through 3 people in line due to back end company systems not being in place efficiently and effectively such as not washing the cars, cleaning the cars, having the cars, etc and the one employee having to be the point for it all.The definition of reservation for them is more of a calendar reminder for the individual that set the reservation and not actually you saving the car for you as you would think.As I was in line turning the key in 2 of the 5 people in front of me complained the car wasn’t cleaned out at all just as mine wasn’t. I had to pay to get it detailed on my own due to it being a business trip.They did not have the actual car I reserved and stated they have one vehicle left which took me from a basic suv to a premium suv, thankfully I could pay the $500 price difference plus the $200 deposit, including insurance, but that doesn’t mean I wanted to.I understand and take into consideration they have a shortage on vehicles but it’s the minor details that a car shortage has nothing to do with and it’s ridiculous to still charge the price without the responsibility of great quality service. I am unsure of other location, but I would not recommend anyone to come to this location.

Would give ZERO stars if I could! DO NOT use this Hertz.1. They did not have the car I reserved. I booked a full size sedan and they tried to give me a compact hatchback after telling me it was a full sized sedan.2. I was given a car that had not been serviced or cleaned. Car was very dirty with trash and food from the last guest who used it.3. The car stated that an oil change was required. I tried contacting the location but could not get anyone on the phone because they were closed. I had to GET AN OIL CHANGE AND CAR WASH.I have been trying to contact Hertz for 2 WEEKS after returning the car to get reimbursed for the oil change and car wash that I HAD TO PAY FOR. I have called 20+ times to speak with a manager. I have left notes with other employees to have the manager call me…. Nothing. No return calls.After finally speaking with a manager they told me they can’t reimburse me for anything because I should have gotten pre-approval before getting an oil change. I tried to contact them when I saw the service notification in the car but they DON’T ANSWER THE PHONE.This is absolutely ridiculous. They have lost my business and my entire family over a $70 reimbursement for an oil change and car wash…DO NOT waste your time here.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. We reserved an Nissan Rogue for our trip over a week ago. We went to pick up today and the lady said 1) we weren't allowed to get an SUV because we weren't paying with a credit card 2) they only had 2 cars left 3) the only cars available have NO GAS. Like what???? When booking the car, we paid with a debit card and it NEVER SAID ANYTHING about booking with a credit card, otherwise we would have done so no problem. So now my wife goes to pick up and they charge her a $500 holding fee plus the additional fee we paid for the car that we didn't even receive. We got a Nissan Altima instead (the car we already own) with no gas and have to squeeze all of our stuff in there since we expected a bigger car. So ridiculous. I should've gone with enterprise.

We have been renting from hertz for about 14 years and it has been the best decision we have ever made in the sense of being a loyal customer. Ali and Tammy always go above and beyond to assure that our transportation needs are met both pre and post Covid. Thank you for all that you all do..

I booked a car three days ahead,but upon arrival they informed me that there were no cars available.They were able to find a tesla and guaranteed that I wouldnt not be charge an upgrade fee because it was their fault but ended up getting charged anyways. On top of that i got charged two different amounts, without any explanation.Don’t book at this location,very unprofessional.

This rental place is awesome! I travel every month from NY and rent from here, they are always helpful and accommodating; I would never choose another place to rent a car from.The gentleman who helps me is Ali, and he is really great guy, he is respectful and a real gentleman. Keep up the great work, Ali.
