Great place to get a gift, some of the candles are awesome looking, but the smell is not very potent, they have colognes too. I got some vegan nail polish. Fun place to go when in The Heights.

I found this store while visiting Handies nearby & am in love. Their fragrances are so beautiful and all natural. I came here to buy gifts for family I was visiting overseas. The gifts were such a big hit. Love love love the small touches with how they gift wrap and package even their gift cards! A fun experience exploring the store. Truly unique but high quality items. This will be my new go to for gifts (for myself too). We need more stores like these.

I’m newish to the Houston area and was looking for some holiday gifts recently. My shoulders dropped as soon as I walked into this shop for the first time— the place smells amazing. Staff incredibly informed and helpful, it was one of the least stressful shopping experiences I’ve ever had. New local favorite!

The place is cute, and I adored the Japanese decor, but I did not appreciate the discrimination we experienced here. My girlfriend and I were browsing when a worker suddenly came up and snatched the items from her hands. My girlfriend was in shock but didn’t say anything at the moment. I told the worker that we weren’t done and hadn’t even decided on the items we were holding.
We are both Hispanic and were wearing baggy clothes, and it was clear she assumed we were going to steal. The worker eventually realized her mistake, but the disrespect was already done. Despite this, we still purchased the items because she wasn’t the owner, just an employee.
However, her behavior was unacceptable. She disrespected a hardworking nurse by snatching items like that! We will not be returning to this store. Next time don’t be so judgmental girl!

Such a beautiful store and the employees are wonderful and so helpful! Visiting from Dallas and I have been on the hunt for stores that carry Japanese incense for some time now and I was so excited to see that Genara carries a huge selection of them! They also carry tons of body care items that smell absolutely amazing as well. I will definitely be back!!

This place is so amazing. I just love their incense/holders/candles and specialized cards that you can't just get anywhere. Everything in the store is unique if you are looking for a special gift or just something for your home. They also always have the cutest window displays that make my heart happy.

SUCH GOOD VIBES! Very well curated! And they do complimentary beautiful gift wrapping. Can’t wait to visit again and discover more treasures. They carry a wide variety of indie brands that have ‘made it’ and new/obscure ones.

Everything in this shop is so intentional and unique. This is one of the shops where the more you look the more you find. Each discovery brings some joy! I am usually a window shopper but ended up picking up 4 items!
