I’ve been coming here for years and try to visit whenever I’m in town (moved to Austin). There are some really great finds here - most notably I love my matching green silk KENZO set (top and skirt) and some of my favorite ceramic bowls are from here.

For women’s clothes, this is truly the best thrift store I’ve ever been to. Fewer home goods & baby clothing options, but that’s a small price to pay for an impeccably well-organized & well-curated selection of dresses, tops, bottoms, shoes, & accessories. I’ve found lots of high-end items here in great condition.
The Cottage Shop has been a Houston treasure in the Montrose area since 1971. This one-of-a-kind resale boutique is owned and operated by The Women’s Home, which means that 100% of sales contribute to the mission of building communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability. In addition to offering high-fashion clothing and home goods at incredible prices, the Cottage Shop serves as a vocational training site for our clients. Volunteers and residents staff the store six days a week under the supervision of our professional staff. DONATION DAYS & HOURS: Thursdays - Saturdays, 10am - 2pm
