“I volunteered at Kids' Meals, Inc. by helping pack lunches for children ages 5 and under. We were told summer is the highest volume due to most kids being out of school - they are looking to provide 14,000 meals this year. They have 18 drivers in 56 zip codes in Houston - delivering meals 5 days a week.Some of you should consider giving back with your time at the very least - find a nonprofit that benefits our Houston community.M - F volunteer shifts 9 - 12 + 1230 - 230”

“I scheduled a next day pickup for furniture we no longer needed, but which was still in good condition. The whole process was quick and straightforward. Fill out a quick form online, and get updates via email or text (we used text). Bradley and Jacob were our pickup
team, and they were amazing. They were earlier than scheduled which was perfectly fine (I was given notice when they were 40 minutes out), and were polite, friendly, professional, and efficient. I'll definitely use them again in the future!”

“I've never donated blood before, so coming in I was quite nervous, but the ladies here did a wonderful job at making me feel comfortable.Mary helped me through the check-in process, answered all of my questions, and was very friendly. She assured me I was in good hands, and not to worry about anything.Once i went back to the donor area, they had plenty of goodies to keep my energy and hydration up while I waited. My wife was allowed to come back with me to the waiting area as well, and although she wasn't able to donate due to being anemic, they treated her with the same kindness as me.After waiting just a few minutes, my donor tech Joana called me back. She explained everything throughly, brought me some ice packs to keep my neck cool, and went over her experiences as a tech. I was very surprised at how well she performed the venipuncture since she had only been doing it for 2 years, and with this being her first job as a phlebotomy tech. I've had seasoned nurses stick me with 18 gauge needles where I almost passed out from the pain, but Joana was a pro, because I didn't feel it at all!As a seasoned phlebotomist and emt, I have to give this place cred, because it was the cleanest, most professional experience I've had in a while. As for the donation, I did feel a little weak afterwards, but they made sure I was safe, and that I sit for a while to rehydrate before leaving. I also had a small knot on my arm after I left, but I typically do that with larger bore needles, and it went away after using an ice pack. Overall it was a great experience, and I get to save a life in the process! I will definitely be back when my next appointment is due.”

“Since moving to Houston in 2022 I began giving blood in honor of my niece whom I lost unexpectedly 12/1/21. Every experience with this location has been great and really appreciated. This visit Demetra was the nurse who assisted me and she was so kind and pleasant. I definitely recommend this location for friendly, kind and quick service!!”

“Would recommend this place for a nice stroll in the early morning. Around 7:15, so you are still early but not waiting in your car for the gate to open. Not much space for too many vehicles until the gates open.
Once inside, there are many paths to choose from, a nature center for learning, and a kids area that looks pretty cool. The kids area is like a learning playground. Several sections with active participation, while hanging out in nature.
I walked the outer loop and it is a nice longer trail. I did it in about an hour and 45 minutes with side quests along the way.”

“Just a reminder, this lounge is only for current members of the military forces. Retirees, and VA disabled will not be allowed to enter. You must have a CAC for members and spouses must have dependent ID....The lounge is small, but it a quick way to relax, grab a snack and or other items (hygiene, information, wifi, drinks). Everytime when I enter its not really busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful.....Ooooorah!!!”

“This is a great art area, a community that was once almost deserted, but was revived by a few buddies with ideas. It’s really cool, and the staff are very enthusiastic. It just opened when we went there, and we visited every A house with great works on display. I like this place very much. I like Houston, a great, diverse, inclusive, modern, and infinitely charming city. Because of this place, I fall in love with Texas even more.”

“This program has been around for many years here in the Houston Texas area. DFSH help people who are job ready become even more confident about their interview and first day of employment. By helping them pick out the best clothing attire that fits their personality and the actual job. And also the ladies get pearls to go with their outfit. Awesome!”

“If you have never been to special pals you need to. They had close to (100) dogs i guess.the staff 100% . The place was clean and looked good. They take great care of all the pets in there. SO I YOU NEED A PLACE TO GIVE MONEY TO THEY COULD USE IT.”

“I went on a Tuesday at 10AM and had the entire park all to myself! I enjoyed the tranquility and the curated music that you can scan at each biome. It got hot around 12PM, but by that point, I had already finished making my way through the entire park. Definitely stop by the park's shop for home grown goodies and unique gifts to take home!”

“Great place while my daughter was staying in the Nicu. I really enjoy the comfort it was very clean and organized . And social worker Mrs Christina was excellent to speak with .”

“Our experience with DAA is fantastic. Not only they offer cultural dance, their training in ballet and modern dance is really good. DAA nurtured my daughter’s love of dance and she really looked forward to going there every week. DAA also offers well-tailored small group gymnastics class from toddlers to advanced dancers. Coach Victor is very caring and pleasant to work with. He makes sure the class is safe and fun. I’m glad to see that the strength and skill built help advance the dance skills.

Other perks I want to mention are:
DAA offer a lot performance opportunities for advance dancers, such as Miller theater. Even for little ones, we got to perform at children’s museum. Not to mention their well managed recital programs.
Also, they offer free tickets to performing arts events every now and then. We got to attend a classical concert at Jones theater via DAA.

In the end, I highly recommend this place for starters family or advanced dancers.”

“I went for an interview. They didn't hire me. But I thought alot of what they're trying to do for the animals. They had a wonderful facility and seemed to care deeply. If I had the money, I would donate to them”

“Got my baby back in October when he was only 2(or 3) months old. First picture was when he first came home, second and third picture are of him currently. He’s such a playful and curious cat. I got really lucky with. He’s not a mean cat at all, he lets kids play with him”

“This studio has provided the yoga experience I have ever had - truly. The community here is welcoming, inclusive, and beautiful. They held a woman’s night by Alejandra recently that was really, really meaningful. Amit is a wonderful instructor and makes sure you are practicing safely and maintaining good posture!”

“This is the best place in Houston. I Love this place. They actually help ppl and don't judge or look down on nobody. The caseworkers are very helpful and really care about they clients. Very professional! I've never got turned down from this place and they actually care about ppl here. God Bless the caseworkers for doing a fantastic Job and who this place is ran by.”

“Good experiences and bargains here. I've shopped here for many years. It's the "GUILD SHOP" that is unpleasant, rude and create unnecessary inconveniences for mothers with nonwalking children in strollers. Don't get the 2 places MIXED up when you're reviewing like I did. The CHARITY GUILD Shop is awesome. The GUILD SHOP not so much.”

“I love this fitness center! I switch from 24 hour fitness to here and never looked back!

Their pool is heated and their changing rooms are kept clean! They also have zero flooding damage on the ceiling tiles which is impressive for a building that is over 20 years old unlike other newer fitness centers in the galleria.

My favorite thing about this fitness center is the fact that the patrons don’t treat this place like it is a speed dating event so that I don’t have to spend my entire working out routine declining coffee and tea dating invitations.

Did I mentioned I love their pool already! I love their pool! I recently went to the doctor and they told me I’m prone to osteoporosis and that I have tendon loss on one of my knees likely from the years of running track since high school so swimming here has become a better alternative to costly knee surgery.

Would be cool if they had one of them climbing walls machines where the wall drops as you try to climb it but I’m not complaining. I just walk from home 1.5 miles just to weight lift and swim daily then walk back another 1.5 miles.

I only get bum out when there is bad weather bc I can’t swim and doing out of the water workouts isn’t as much fun as actually swimming.”

“I’m a native Houstonian, but only moved back into Houston about six years ago. Since I walk along Buffalo Bayou most days and benefit from its nature inside the city, I decided it was time to learn a little more. Yesterday, my daughters, and I did the Cistern history and Cistern Illuminated tours and both were great! It’s great to know how far Houston’s water quality has come since the early 1900s (lol) and to see how the original cistern is being repurposed.The underground concrete architecture - with 221 supporting columns in a cool dark expanse with the acoustics and light effects was amazing! And, our history tour guide, even sang a beautiful song for us so we could hear the notes reverberate throughout the Cistern! Whether you live in Houston or not, this is a great quick activity that entertains and educates!”
