Amazing training program, focusing on both the owner and the dog. When I first started training with Dean I thought I had a great relationship with my two dogs but not great control of them. I’ve since learned I didn’t have either.Be warned! The program at Club Canine takes dedication, patience, hard work and a willingness to do things differently. It’s a challenging experience with a significant reward. The bond I’ve developing with my dogs is indescribable. I’m confident by the end of the program I will have two very well-behaved pets both at home and in public.Thank you (Dean and Dallas) for your coaching and guidance. It’s been an enlightening experience and I look forward to continuing the journey. Maddie and Gracie also thank you for molding me into a consistent leader that provides clearer expectations and consistent boundaries.

When our dog landed literally on our doorstep, and we only had cats, we contacted Dean with Club Canine within 2 weeks. Club Canine’s training method is unique, and a lot of work (A LOT oF work), consistency, and effort on the owner’s part, but it’s amazing to see the results. In our home, our cats can walk around our dog with no qualms, and we have peace and quiet in our home. While we are still learning and training, Dean, Dallas, and Club Canine saved our peace and sanity. The program truly works.

We are such big fans of Club Canine. I. Just a few short months, Dean, Dallas, and the whole team have already helped us begin to transform our formerly skittish and fear reactive rescue dog into a confident girl who is now socializing with our friends and family and attentive to us in a room full of other dogs or distractions (things that used to trigger her). Club Canine’s method requires a commitment from both you and your dog. You’ll work on the skills every day and in the beginning things may feel restrictive before they become freeing in order to allow you to get a handle on your dogs behavior. That said, this program WORKS and even after a few short months we are seeing a remarkable improvement and the light at the end of the tunnel where new experiences will be possibile as a result of all we (and our dog) have learned! I cannot recommend Club Canine and their team highly enough!

At Club Canine staff and members are very devoted and help you acheive the wonderful dream you first imagined when you first got your cute little puppy. Club canine accepts all ages of dogs. It is fun looking back when my dog was still a little puppy, and we thought she was a lost cause! I think if you are willing to work hard and put in effort to training your dog Club canine will help you get wherever you want to go, whether that is winning dog training competitions or sitting at home reading with your dog at your feet. When I first joined Club canine and started doing the training exercises my puppy was the happiest I had ever seen her! Now my dog knows advanced tricks and simple ones, like knowing not to go upstairs without permission. All and all I think if you want a positive experience with your dog, and you want to have a bond with your pup, then Club canine is the place to go!The prior was written by my daughter, I too can attest that Dean and team are experts in the field and offer a rewarding program suitable for the individual or a whole family. The Club Canine team takes time and care to help you reach your goals, and will hold you accountable to those goals!

When I first got my dog little by little he started acting out. It got to point that I knew that we needed professional training. Club Canine is no joke. It is not a quick fix but if you are willing to put the work in, you and your dog will come out better in the end. It became such a huge part of our lives that we have stayed on to do more advanced training. Benji and I qualified with perfect scores in Obedience Rally Novice thanks to the hard work from the team at the Club Canine. He also comes twice a week for daycare and boards here for longer times as well. Benji loves it here and I know that when he stays he is comfortable, happy and is still required to follow rules which he definitely needs. Club Canine is like family to us. Thank you all for your guidance over the years.

They are PASSIONATE about dogs. Sure it is a business, but they truly care about your dog’s wellbeing. Call them up or email them, they seem to know what they are doing. Sure, they take great care of your dog, but their customer service is also superb. Your dog will start asking you to bring them here.

They use punishment-based techniques. I highly recommend you to look for a dog trainer that instead uses treats and toys to reward your dog when they do something right, that uses and encourages head collars or body harnesses, that adapts the training method to each individual dog and that allows you to observe a session without participating, so you can watch the dogs and see if they are having fun. Their method is cruel and we truly regret we invested money and time to inflict pain and fear to our dogs. Dog training should not be this way, it should be positive for your dog to enjoy and actually, this jerking the collar thing they do to the dogs, can develop into serious problems of neck and spine over time. If the training techniques make you feel uncomfortable or scares your dog, run away from there, it's not the right place. If not sure where to start, always ask your veterinarian and I personally recommend you to read this book "Decoding Your Dog" by Horwitz, Ciribassi and Dale, as a good start point. I wish I had read it before taking this type of training for our dogs.

This style of training might work if you're trying to domesticate a rhinoceros, but not dogs. First of all, he began by insisting I get rid of my 8 year old foster dog I just rescued off the streets in order to train my 2 year old lab pitbull mix. No questions asked. I don't think this man actually cares about dogs or he wouldn't insist on this so harshly. His style of training was slamming the cage into my dogs face, yanking the leash on her neck to get her to comply. Sure, she listened. But it was out of pure fear and this is not a relationship I want with my dog. I didn't rescue my dog off the streets to bring her into my home and make her my servant. He instructed on no PETTING, no snuggling, no sweet baby talk, nothing. No food involved with training which I've never heard from another trainer. He shamed me the entire time for not bringing her in sooner (I'm a college student and couldn't afford it) and made me feel stupid, helpless, and "weak" a word he used many times to describe how my dog sees me. He said my dog was too soft for yelping when he yanked her neck. I watched him choke my dog for 2 hours and felt so uncomfortable. He was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful with a lot of unnecessary cussing and even used the word "transients" in my presence which was horrifying. A very militaristic and aggressive approach and I don't think any dog should live this way. He sees dogs as tools and not companions to be loved on. Both my dogs are rescues with trauma and now my dog is afraid of her kennel because he slammed the door in her nose. Cant believe I spent $250 on this horrifying experience. If you want police dogs or your dogs to be terrified of you (but obedient) this might be a good option for you. If you love your dogs, not so much.

Dean and his entire staff are delightful! Extremely knowledgeable, and their ability to just pick up a new dog and put it to work always amazes me. They train us more than the dog and don't hesitate to call us out when we need to be reminded to put in more work. Know what? That's important. As a result, our 7-8 month old puppy acts like a much older dog and is very well behaved. Can't wait to see what's next!!

I tried so many different trainings before I reached out to club canine once I moved to houston. I wish I would have come here sooner but I’m so glad I did! My dog has aggression issues with other dogs and not only has club canine helped my dog, they help me. The system they have is unparalleled. They have helped me understand the psychology behind my dogs behavior and I can not recommend this place enough! This is the ONLY place that I’ve seen true results with my dog and I. The trainers are always available through text and calls to help and both my pup and I are so much more confident in ourselves and our relationship. You can’t just go to the group trainings and expect a perfect dog, though. You have to work your dog daily to reinforce the training and process. With the work you put in both in lessons and at home, you will see results that will blow you away. Club canine was my last hope with training my dog and I have never made a better investment than in this training!

We cannot recommend Club Canine enough! These trainers are exceptional in their knowledge of dogs and how to build effective communication skills with your dog. We would have been lost without their guidance. After trying two other training services in Houston to help us handle our anxious and aggressive German Shepherd, we still were not seeing results. Club Canine was our last resort - and the difference in our dog is night and day. Our pup went from an anxious, fearful and people & dog-aggressive dog to a focused, obedient, trusting companion. We wish that we would have started with Club Canine first! After a year and a half of training and pack socials with Club Canine, we ended up having to move out of Texas, and thanks to Club Canine we felt completely comfortable that our dog would succeed in any situation we put her in. And she did! During our move, she had to be around several other dogs and people as we visited family members, and she was great around them. She now knows how to focus, do anything we tell her to do, and she respects us - ALL without any treats. This is a complete 180 from her pre-Club Canine days. Club Canine not only makes your dog a better dog, but most importantly, equips you with the skills you need to be the best dog owner that you can be. We are truly so thankful for all that Club Canine has helped us with -- they saved us and our dog! Highly, highly recommend this group- they are the BEST trainers in Houston.

I grew up on a 10,000 acre ranch filed with animals and I've never met a better trainer than Dean. Club Canine goes beyond just training tricks. They dig deeper into your relationship with your dog to teach the dog to make good choices. He teaches proper behavior for you as well as your dog. You will have a perfectly behaved pooch if you are consistent with the process. Club Canine has progressively turned our nightmare of dogs behaving badly into a paradise of peace for us. Visit the facility to view all of the well behaved dogs in daycare. You will see how chilled out and happy they are. Club Canine is the best kept secret in the city. Tell everybody!
