Listen, I’m sensitive about who touches my hair, as this is my sacred crown. I have been a loyal client here since about 2012, and I love it here. The thing that keeps me here is they understand hair care, and my hair thrives and retains length. You do not have to come with your hair half complete (they will wash it), and they don't have a laundry list of unrealistic rules. The environment is chill, and so are the stylists. I’m thankful I’ve been able to stick with them for so long.

This place is OVERPRICED . I booked a consultation with ChaRA, the owner. Which she charges for and after the new client consultation I attempted to book an appointment and she said she wasn’t accepting new clients. Then why are you charging for consultations if you aren’t accepting new clients? She then pawned me off to one of her new stylist Reina who did a beautiful job on my hair but boy was it expensive. I’m talking $400 for a basic 12 inch sow in. I attempted to go back to Reina, several more times only to find that the unprofessionalism continued, overbooking is a constant experience, having you sit for hours under the blow dryer as a attempt to squeeze in as many clients as possible. They were always running late and I never had an appointment start on time. Started doing my own hair and just stopped coming. Never followed up with me to understand why I left the salon, zero customer service.

Horrible and unprofessional. I worked here and she didn’t let me pick my tools up. She shipped them in a box and several of my items were missing! And she blow dryer was completely broken. CHARA is a horrible salon owner and I will be filing a police report

I made an appointment and told them what I wanted, took a 50minute ride, showed up in time, they kept me waiting for almost an hour, finally got me in the seat, ran her fingers through my hair, and very disrespectfully told me they could not work with my hair. Did not even try to put my hair back how it was when I walked in! My entire day’s been wasted and I ain’t got my hair done.

It's so refreshing to find a beauty salon that is consistently professional, attentive and that makes hair care a priority. What first drew me to Chara and her team was how knowledgeable she was about hair and the versatility of hair types she catered to, but what keeps me coming back is the friendly environment and exceptional client service. I've been a client for almost a decade and I trust each stylist with my hair needs and services and would recommend them to anyone.Services: Hair straightening

I am new in town and needed a new salon. Found this place on Google Search thought why not give it a try since reviews are good. Once I walked in I immediately felt judged. Continued to go about my appointment. Spent over $700 dollars. Didn't matter!!! I just wanted my weave done right. The next day it already started to peel off... I had to glue it down myself, Didn't even last a week. The worst 700 dollars I ever spent. It was robbed from me. Stylist was poor quality. Salon wasn't anything fancy. Skip this one. Go to the NEXT PLACE.

I'm always really apprehensive about sitting in any stylists chair. I ordered hair bundles from Canvas Hair Studios website and asked for them to be colored prior to my arrival in Houston. I went straight to the salon from the airport! These bundles were colored to pure perfection! I've gotten so many compliments on my hair since getting out of Stephanie's chair! I love the cut, color, and curls! The reaction from my man when he said "WOW" and dropped his jaw was the icing on the cake. I couldn't be happier with my hair. This trip was worth every penny! Thank you to the owner Chara for having such a welcoming environment and friendly staff. Thank you to Michell for coloring these bundles to perfection and thank you to Stephanie for gathering me together.

Canvas Hair Studio is AMAZING. All the stylist are very personable and always accommodate me and my busy life. I grew up in a hair salon and I love the overall energy, and therapeutic experience I get every time I am in any of the seats at Canvas. Keep up the good work Chara and team.Services: Hairstyling

I got a simple ponytail and and bought 2 bundles of their hair at $105 each. My appointment was scheduled for 2 pm with "D". I didn't get out the chair until 6:40 pm and the finishing cost was over $400. My hair was cute, but definitely not worth it!

Ugh I'm literally in love omg ! I was searching everywhere for someone to do my silk press and I couldn't find no one who took same day appointments. Until I came across canvas hair studio! They were very welcoming and I sat in the chair within 5 minutes of walking in. That was my first time ever going there and I'm definitely going to return.

I attended the consultation with Dwayne, my stylist, a few days prior to my appointment. When the day of the appointment came, I arrived early for my 1:30pm appointment. The appointment was a diaster, and I did not leave until 7:58pm for a full closure weave installation, and then I had to return later to get it fixed- twice! My stylist was running about 20 minutes late when he brought a mother and daughter who had also been in the waiting area with me back to the wash bowls at the same time and commented that he had 3 clients but that the timing would be "fine" and he "could handle it". After washing, he put me under the hair dryer for an hour (a broken hair dryer at first: another employee who walked by to help me switch to another dryer that functioned properly). An hour is too long and uncessary, so it seemed that he was just finding a place to put me while he worked with his other clients. The I sat and waited some more before he washed out the conditioner and put me back under the dryer to dry my hair again. After a while, his work colleague (the one who had helped me move to a properly functioning hair dryer) told me she was going to blow dry/comb throguh my hair since my stylist, Dwayne, was still busy. She did this, and then I continued to sit wait. I also received a bill via text: I figured I'd wait until the end to pay, as is customary. Then another sylist came and said she was going to start braiding my hair since Dwayne was still busy. She was able to do a couple of braids (adding extension hair and moisturizing my scalp with grease as she went). When my stylist was finally ready to start working on my hair, she asked me to check out and pay my bill using the text message I had previously received so that she could "check out and leave". I did so, but was shocked at the request becuase my stylist was just starting to braid my hair and obviously would still have a couple of hours of work left (at least). I included tip in my payment, wrongfully assuming that my hair was going to look flawless. As he was braiding my hair, I noticed he was not using any moisturizer on my scalp/hair, so I asked him to use grease as the other woman had done. He laughed and said he never uses grease and didn't even have any. He asked her, who had not left yet, if he could use hers, and she actually told him that of course she had some becuase "it's a tool of her trade" and that "No" he couldn't use it. I couldn't believe this because I am the customer and my hair is the one suffering (and this behavior from the manager, no less!). It was silent for a few seconds; then my stylist changed the conversation topic. My hair received no other protectant moisturizer or grease. She left soon afterwards, and it was just my stylist and me. He was struggling to get the lace closure in place properly. (See photos of the front that was lifted up: it looked worse in person than in the photos). He blamed the little amount of grease that the manager had put in when she did the first couple of braids in the front of my hair as the reason it wasn't sticking, so he even wiped my scalp with alcohol. He kept spraying it, wrapping it, and putting me under the dryer: this happened about 3-4 times. Crazy enough, he had yet another client come in, whose hair he also did while he was still trying to work on mine. Eventually, at 8pm we agreed that I could come back to get it fixed if needed (he tried to tell me it would look better once I slept with a hair wrap on to hold it for a few hours, and that the parts that were too tight would loosen). Of course, it did not get better. The salon was closed Sun and Mon, so I was unable to return until Tues to get my hair fixed. I called ahead; the receptionist assured me the owner was going to fix my hair herself. Boy was I surprised to find that the stylist fixing my hair was the same woman who had refused to share her hair grease with my sylist! I told the woman I was willing to pay for additional hair if needed since the prior stylist
