An amazing treasure of a store hidden in the hustle of the city. This is a must visit store. It makes you go back into time on various aspects of Antique. I purchased some amazing pieces of jewellery for my wife and she fell in love with each of them.
Rita Aunty is just awesome, whilst we met her for the first time, she made us feel at home, comfortable and as if we knew her for ages. She is a darling snd a superstar of the store. Very knowledgeable and does not push you to buy stuff but rather allows you to choose what is best for you.
All their categories are very niche and of great quality. Their jewellery section was to die for.. I am definitely coming back again..

I came inside the store just to check to see if they had any vintage glass specifically Westmoreland Bird Nest candy dish, carnival glass, and swung vases to add to my collection. As I walked around the store, I noticed that it was more antique furniture and knick knacks. There were two booths dedicated to vintage glass. In the store front window to the right was some peach luster, avon glass, stretched vases and towards the back near the cashier station was a rather large booth that was fully lit. I looked in the lit booth where none of the price tags were showing, but it was a huge collection of Fenton Glass and some of it was carnival. As I was about to leave the store, I thought maybe to ask one of the vendors about prices and to be shown pieces. I asked one vendor who was sitting out front drinking a coffee and reading a magazine. He gladly assisted me. I asked to see the stretched opalescent glass vase as I was keen to find out the maker. He encouraged that I ask the owner who was the cashier. I walked up to her with the piece and said, "Hi" could you remind me whose the maker on this beautiful piece?" The owner gave me the biggest attitude and was being condescending towards me. She said, "and you don't know who makes this?!" I told her that I had forgotten. She said, "well obviously this is Fenton" and proceeded to look it up on Google. She goes on to mention Fenton is an American brand. She was not only ugly towards me, but her and the other vendor was prejudiced to think just because I forgot the maker on that piece that I was completely clueless on all vintage glass. The owner convinced me to buy the piece, but after dealing with her snobby attitude I decided not. Before I left, I asked the vendor guy to show me this fenton carnival glass cat and carnival glass fairy lamp. I mentioned to the guy that the cat was carnival glass, the guy tells me, "uhhh, no I don't think so because this vendor gets her inventory from China and it's iridescent glass". So then I ask him to show me the fairy lamp which I told him, it's carnival fairy lamp. He picks up the piece looks at the nametag and turns to me to say, "ohh you really do know what you're talking about because the name plate said exactly what you mentioned." I just left the store because the experience was terrible. Awful owner who has superiority complex. Lack of friendliness.

Walking in, it’s like a time capsule. You could easily spend hours and hours looking at each thing. The store associates are very knowledgeable about their products as well. Great find in the neighborhood!

One of the best antique stores in the Houston area!

I have been a regular customer of Antiques & More of Houston for years. I didn't come in often, but when I did, I generally spent from $100 to to $500. I will not spend a single penny due to the arrogance and laziness of the probable owner Hollis. I told her that I could not spend more than $50 today as I was in the middle of a remodel of my house and there's a waiting my social security check the next Wednesday.
I went about gathering up items from a number of booths with her permission. Of course she was lazily lolling with one of her regular customers--evidently a friend since they were on a first name basis.I collected a number of things and we agreed upon prices. Of course she bitterly complained that I was causing her too much trouble for her to give me that normal discount in spite of the fact that I was buying multiple items from several vendors each totalling more than the $50 aggregate total required to trigger the 10 percent discount that barely covers the taxes. When I reiterated I only had $50 to spend today, Hollis became irritated and reminded me that I was wastingnher valuable time. I asked if she would write down where the items came from she became more irritated, refusing to honor my simple request.write down where the items came from. She laughingly said, "I would just have to go shopping again." I assured her I would never come backbto her God-forsaken store and walked out. She didn't even say goodbye.
If she were my employee I would have fired her on the spot.
I recommend not going to her store. I pity the vendors who lost over $1,000 because of her laziness and arrogant condescension.
Hollis can kiss my foot and I don't mean my foot. Worthless is hardly an adequate description for her. I'm going to do my best to ensure that the multiplicity of decorators who I have responsibility for will not buy one single item from her or be guaranteed to lose my business. Thus, her attitude likely cost her store and consignees I'm excess of $100,000. I sure hope so anyway.
The following is in respond to Hollis' drivel about my description being "mostly incorrect."
Not only did I state that I had only $50 to spend yesterday at the very beginning of my nearly one hour attempt to shop at her store, I repeated that statement directly to her several times as I chose items that I would purchase on Wednesday of next week n when my Social Security payment is deposited in my account. She was relatively polite during the conversation except in pointing out that I was "wasting her time" by asking for discounts on small items. She did, however admit that she would extend the discount if the total cost of the items for each specific vendor. I assume that the practice of the mall is to increase the amount of the total sale for each vendor so that 1) the vendor would sell more--an obvious goal of having the items available to sell in the first place, and 2) that the Mall's commission would also be increased if I purchased more. Obviously, she must not receive a personal commission or she would have made more of an effort to sell. Instead, she was apparently more concerned about not being "inconvenienced" by my asking her to honor the $50 threshold that she, herself, offered. I certainly didn't offer the discount to myself. She did and I understood the practice of the Mall correctly as suggested by the first employee she instructed to help me as I meandered through the store. This employee was a woman who was a little younger than me (retirement age) who was extremely polite, genuinely helpful, and extremely competent and thoughtful. She took time to explain the virtues of each vendor (none of whom was actually present) and never saying a negative word about a single one of them. In short, she was happy to help me choose carefully, always explaining when a specific vendor offered an "extra" discount in the event of m

The individuals who run this establishment are very mindful about the care they take with peoples beloved antiques. They are passionate about what they do. You’ll find antiques from all over the world in the shop. I thoroughly enjoyed just walking around and seeing all the history there. I’m really into Asian/Indian art - and they have a whole section just dedicated to antiques like that! It’s amazing. I will definitely be coming back.

Anyone who comes into Antiques and More is treated like a friend. I just read Ron’s review and I am shocked! It couldn’t be further from the truth. Hollis is kind, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Shame on you Ron! I was working earlier this week when you first came into the shop. The shop was busy, several people needed help- but Hollis spent her time running around the store helping you and gathering items that you wanted to buy- but ultimately did not. She was friendly, patient and very accommodating. We are a family run shop and we always do our best to make our customers happy- your review is pure folly.

Re: The post of Ron S. I am prefacing this posting, by stating that Antiques and More, is highly regarded, as a lovely shop, dedicated to quality and caring, customer, centered service. The very amiable owners (Hollis and Jeff), and delightful dealers are known for their warm and friendly regard for serving customers. Today ,while working in the shop, I (Sherry), initially, had helped Ron, in making several, of multiple "considerations" of items, for purchase, which were gladly taken up-front. I was not in the shop when the final transactions were to be determined, and it is disappointing to read that such an undeserved, scathing review, would be made regading this exceptional shop. Today we gave, much attentive care towards helping Ron, in his search for a plethora of "treasures". Asking for numerous items, to be held longer than 24 hours, has a negative effect in multiple regards. We do offer lay-a-way, so that customers can conveniently, secure their items timely and safely. We welcome all customers with the same, sincere pleasure of serving you, with heartfelt appreciation.
