I joined this facility because it's right by my office. I didn't visit before joining because in my mind, the area in which it's located would make it a premiere location. Boy was I wrong!! Every single piece of equipment (not including the treadmills, ellipticals and stairmasters) in there was antiquated and many in ill repair! I was extremely disappointed.

I went to do my after-work workout at 24 Hour Fitness on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. As I was about to enter the gym, there was a drunk homeless man passed out right in front of the entrance. I went inside and told the manager. He said that he called the property management company and was told that there was nothing they could do.
I went over to the homeless man and tapped his foot with my foot telling him to wake up. I had to tap his foot several times to wake him up. I told him he needed to get up and leave.
While I was telling him to get up, some loudmouth woman started yelling at me and asking why am I doing that. I told her, "I'm trying to protect you." The manager came out and told me that I was guilty of assault.
During my workout, the manager asked for my name. The next day, I got an email from 24 Hour Fitness that my membership has been suspended for three years.
I had been a member since 2004. I guess 24 Hour Fitness management values homeless people sleeping outside their gym rather than 20-year members.
I did what the manager failed to do and that was to protect his guests. What if the homeless man started begging people for money or started harassing women?
That gym has gotten real trashy lately. Half the equipment never works and the men's restroom is disgusting.
Go ahead and let homeless people camp outside your gym, but don't come crying to me when you find yourself on the receiving end of a lawsuit when one of those homeless people attack your female guests.

Don’t bother purchasing a trainer because they will try to overcharge you and the trainer I got didn’t show up twice without any notice. I was told I should get my money back but I got nowhere with anyone. They have horrible customer service and it’s disgusting how hot this gym is with how crowded and dirty it gets. Terrible gym!

This is by far the dirtiest gym that I have ever been to. The horrible smell, heat, and filth reminds me of a portal potty. My nostrils have never been so offended. At over $40 per month at a very busy gym, I have to be honest when I say, an immaculate gym is my expectation. No reason at all why this gym, in the River Oaks/Galleria area should look and smell like that.

worst 24 hour fitness in Houston. I’ve been to some pretty bad 24s and this one is the worst. Gym culture is terrible, no one puts up their weights at all & filled with ego lifters who take up equipment. Trash cans were full to the brim over pouring to the floor. The gym itself is actually nice looking, however poor management of the space makes it look unhygenic. Staff was friendly which was wonderful. Equipment is outdated compared to other locations. But I loved how they had 2 hip thrusts machines! Usually take me 2-3 hrs for a workout, left after 1 hr this session.
Pro:
Friendly staff
Nice interior
2 hip thrusts machines (this is rare to find)
Cons:
Bad gym culture
Mostly outdated equipment
Trash full/Unkept
Dumbbells and weights scattered all over the gym

Very dirty second floor. There’s always trash lying around with no staff walking the floor to clean up. The gym runs pretty hot too, most nights it feels like the AC isn’t even working. Haven’t experienced this kind of heat at other 24 locations.

Easily the dirtiest gym I’ve been to. It looks nice and has nice equipment but none of it is maintained well. Locke rooms are incredibly dirty with the showers smelling and having mysterious fluids on the ground. On top of that, the weight room is ill maintained. Free weights are all over the place, the cable machine has an attachment that makes it impossible to adjust, and I’ve seen bugs running around before. Needless to say, I will be canceling once my contract is up.

The temperature in the studios are extremely too hot at both Voss and Galeria locations. The air conditioner is fine in the main gym areas but is set to 80 in the fitness studio where the classes are held. This has been going on for about a month now.

It stays busy most evenings.
At least 12 pieces of equipment need repair or replace. Even if they are damaged, only 1 that I saw had a "do not use sign"
It is partially dirty.
It stays hot upstairs during 5pm to 10pm. AC units cannot keep up.
It is very comfortable before 5pm.
Excellent customer service at the front desk.
Great coach, Lota.
***Actually is open for 24 hours a day.***

Thank you.

I really like your facility, I just don’t understand why the dry sauna is still filthy after being broken for a month. It looks like someone was getting kidnapped in there. Please invest in a power washer and some good chemicals to sanitize the wet areas one or twice a week. Please and thank you.

This gym has everything I need for a good workout. I like being able to see a view of the city somewhat while doing cardio.
