Let me start by saying that I do a lot of business with the Austin and Belton locations and have for years, but sometimes they dont have the vehicle I am looking for in their inventory, but sometimes Holland does. When that is the case I make the drive to Holland and even though it cost more I got what I needed about half of the time. Things have changed now. Prices are higher and the higher the amount of your ticket, the amount that you pay for the enviro fee is significant. With most businesses you dont pay more for spending more with them. Now there is also an enviro tax fee. This is the case at all the locations I have been to. The difference now is that they changed the warranty from what was a reasonable $1.00 a day and you could choose how many days you needed to a set amount of 40 days with the cost of the warranty increasing the more that you spend, however, fortunately you always had the choice to decline the warranty. NOT ANY MORE!!!! Now the warranty is mandatory no exceptions. On top of that the part I got had significant damage and I asked if the part could be discounted in light of the amount of damage? I was told "I am not authorized to do that". I said can I speak to someone that is? I was told "There is nobody on the premises at this time that can do that". I said well how convenient. So I paid full price for a damaged part that would most likely have never sold because of the type of damage it had and was forced to pay for a warranty for a damaged part that I paid full price for. I was then told that "This is a salvage yard and salvage parts are not perfect". Why they felt it necessary to tell me that just made a bad thing worse. This mandatory warranty mandate makes the chances of me doing business at this location again very unlikely when you factor in the time spent to drive out to the middle of nowhere, the fuel cost and fees you have to pay. I would have done better buying a good part online and could have had it delivered to my shop. These are things that should be considered before making the trip, because this information is not found anywhere on the website because if it was I would likely not be leaving this review and I find no pleasure leaving a 1 star review, but as a local guide for Google I consider it my duty put this information out there so that anyone that is considering doing business here can know what to expect and I hope you find this helpful. Let me add a few more things that make absolutely no since to me. First, the enviro fee, this location has no engines or transmissions in the vehicles, so with that being the case any parts that are removed cause no harm to the environment in any way. Second, the core charge for parts used to only be on parts that actually had a core value. Now there is a core charge on items that have zero core value and the items that do have a core value, the core fee far exceeds the recycled value of the item. Last, in reading the website regarding warranty it states if you accept item will come with a 40 day warranty. this clearly means that you have a choice to accept the warranty or decline the warranty. I did not see where it states that the warranty is mandatory. Even if it did there would only be one logical reason for doing it. All of these things have the earmarks of price gouging IMHO.

This shouldnt be called a wrench a part. If you need anything besides tires, body pieces or gas tanks this isnt your stop. NOT ONE CAR has a motor in it. NOT ONE!!

Late model never disappoints. FYI they dont carry engines or transmissions because their parent yard resells them. But as long as you get there within a week or so of their inventory updates youll never walk away empty handed

Well organized and knowledgeable staff. They made a really good offer on my junk car. With free towing if they were to buy it. They are Open on the Weekend and located right next to Snyders Salvage. They also have several other Wrench-a-Part locations around Central Texas. I believe that the next closest one to Holland is in Belton. You can sometimes catch the videos they post on Facebook. They will sometimes offer special deals like discounted admission or a percent off of certain parts. Occasionally, they have hidden coupons in the Vehicles you can turn in to claim the prize if you find it. Not always, but, you'll have to Follow them to Find Out!
