My vehicle was at this shop for three years. It was never repaired. I got the runaround each time I called. My car was in in horrible shape when I had it towed away. The transmission was never repaired. I have yet to recoup my payment.Service: Transmission repair

Worst place. Guy is super friendly and not afraid to charge but not deliver what he gets paid for but bold enough to keep adding to the bill. I actually had to eat the cost twice after he does not honor his warranty or work. I paid for a tow truck after and took my truck and transmission in pieces. He has had the same cars sitting outside the last year and a half. I truly feel sorry for all those clients that trust him with their vehicles and money. There’s greens Transmission and other shops that actually do right by their clients. Transmission jobs are already costly but when you are asked to pay up front and then just have to wait weeks over weeks for bad labor it’s just so unfair. I really hope he really starts honoring his work and his clients. I heard one of my coworkers took his truck there and he is already going through the same situation many of us dealt with and I don’t feel is good business. If Garry can not do what’s right he should consider closing shop.Service: Transmission

My son's truck needed an engine replacement, and my husband's friend recommended that we take it to Gary Oliver at American Allied, so we brought it all the way from Houston to Waco to have someone "we could trust" install the new engine. Gary had my son's truck sitting at his shop for 5 months and gave us weekly updates that he was "almost finished" "it would be ready by Friday", he was "just finishing up" and every other excuse on the planet. My husband even took off of work several times to go check on the truck/pick up (based off of Gary telling him it would be finished) only to find that the truck had never been moved or touched. 5 months goes by and we were told that the engine was in and the truck was running. It only needed a few adjustments. So, we packed up and headed to Waco to pick it up. We get to the shop on Saturday, and find out that the truck needs a new battery. It won't start. so, obviously, it has never been on the road. We bought the battery and brought it to the shop. Went back to where we were staying and waited. We went to go pick it up, after being told the day before that it was running well (which was obviously a lie) and now we were told that it was running "rough" but it should even out over the drive home/nest few days. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth. The NEW engine (at this point, or from jump, who knows?) was bad, Gary never finished installing it and left everything attached but uninstalled. For example, the radiator wasn't even bolted in. Only the hoses were attached. Once on the highway, with my son driving it home ahead of us, it would only drive about 15-20 mph and was smoking horribly. It went through a whole tank of gas in 20 min and broke down on the side of the road and had to be pushed to a service station where we had to get a $450 tow back to Houston. We for SURE weren't going to let that crook Gary Oliver touch it again. He took actual money to do more harm over 5 months to my son's truck. 5 months of him not being able to take all of his college classes because he had no way to get there. 5 months of walking to work. 5 months that we paid insurance payments for a car that wasn't on the road and STILL isn't drivable. 5 months of Bull$#it lies from this money grubbing a$$hat who only wants to take your money and do NOTHING for it. I have heard of some nightmare mechanics in the past, but I have no idea how this guy sleeps at night. All this time he's acting like he's doing us a favor, and my son ended up stranded on the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere. in AUGUST. We now have to pay for ANOTHER engine replacement. Labor and Parts. Because Gary Oliver just wants to take your money and do nothing for it. I cannot stress this enough. Go ANYWHERE else. If you are going to trust your vehicle to someone for a repair, it should be somewhere where THIS isn't a very possible outcome. I wish I had read reviews before I trusted this guy to waste our time and money and quite possibly cost us FAR more to repair than it initially would. We missed out on the core fee for the old engine, too. $300 that would have come back to my son had we not had to wait 5 months to get back a broke truck.

I don't know how this place is even in open for business. In less than one year my transmission has failed 5 times after being rebuilt by this place. Finally took my vehicle somewhere else after leaving me stranded for the 5th time, and once they opened up the trans they said it looked like they just shoved cheap parts in it no wonder it kept breaking. Do not take your vehicle to American Allied they will take your hard earned money, and do half a** work..

My husband got his suburban transmission rebuild. The guy was very friendly and he and his helper did a very good job of it. Was quoted little cheaper than other places was great too.. Also comes with one year warranty. Its been few weeks since it got done and his car runs great. One of the great things about this place is you know who worked on your car and you can actually communicate with them. Good results comes out better with good communication and this place can accomplish that. If you have trust issue, try this place.

Never go to AmericanAllied transmissions. Gary Oliver owns the place. Recognize the name? 'Oliver' He charged me for parts he didn't replace. After a week in his shop, I pulled the plug and took my car to a real transmission shop, Temple Transmissions in Robinson. I don't think AmericanAllied did ANYTHING to my car! NEVER AGAIN
