Come and get your favorite Animals before they run away. With the staff always looking over yonder, they ease out the back,front..Really all over River country .Today they're were five missing and (we ) seen em swimming from the back room.tbeu had crawled under a fence and made it to the Red River raft area ..After that they were not seen till a group of Sundays, when it was meal time.So get them while they're available, take advantage of the Lower adoption fees, and not get mad!!

I love this shelter, I've volunteered there for years. Its a no kill so the lucky kitties and doggies that make it in there get well taken care of for there whole lives. Most are able to find amazing forever homes.

We went to this shelter when we were ready to adopt a cat after having to say goodbye to our sweet senior kitty I had for 18 years. We went to see a certain cat we had seen on Petfinder, but when we went, many of the cats were sick. Due to this, none of them could be interacted with, and they were separated from those who were not sick. Unfortunately, the cat we wanted to meet was one of the sick ones. As we were talking to the staff member who was there, one of the cats in the front was meowing at us and pawing at us through her cage. We learned more about her story, interacted with her, and found out she had been there for 2 years! It was meant to be, because as soon as we left that day we knew we had to make her a member of our family. We love her so much, and appreciate that when we adopted her they took the time to check our veterinary references, and they gave us all her medical records from her time at the shelter. Our vet said she was in great health when we brought her in for her check-up, and we are so glad we get to be her furever home!

They are tirelessly committed to the animals in their care. Regarding Karen's post below, they clean thoroughly every single day. Every litter box gets cleaned, every crate gets cleaned out, every room gets swept and mopped. If there were sick kittens in a room, they were crated. Cats with communicable issues were in a different room from other animals. If there were dogs in the same room with the cats, it was because they were too small to be with the other dogs. People dump puppies all the time and the shelter has to have something to do with them. Sometimes that something is to house them with the cats. And I cannot believe she is complaining that they wanted her to wash her hands in between touching different cats! Cats not housed in the general populations but crated separately generally are more vulnerable. It is only common sense to wash your hands in between touching the various cats. Her review is worthless.

Wonderful shelter and fabulous volunteers run it! Animals best interests is their primary goal. They run mainly on donations so please give as much as you can. The more we give the more they can do to care for the “lovies”.
We got our precious Bodie (aka Little Boy) there...he was one of the best, most loving, most caring & faithful dogs that we have ever had. We miss & love you Bodie, forever...
Thank you Annie & to all the marvelous volunteers at CCAS! Much love to you all. ????
