The hospital staff is terrific for our Great Danes and they were awesome with our Golden Retrievers before. It has been a great 10+ years with Hill Country.

Every single person here is amazing! Kind, caring and compassionate staff. Very knowledgeable people and the place is always very clean. They have taken such wonderful care of my family for many years (20+). Everyone here genuinely loves animals and you can feel that every time you interact with them. My pets are family and mean the world to me. I only trust Hill Country Animal Hospital to take care of my fur babies.

We have been going to Hill Country Animal Hospital since we moved to San Antonio in 2009 and a friend recommended it to us. I am forever grateful for that recommendation--the team is dedicated to taking care of both pets and their owners. When we had to euthanize our dog, they were compassionate and supportive.

I am thrilled with the quality of care and compassionate service that Dr. Krick and the staff at Hill Country Animal Hospital provide! We started bringing our two cats to Dr. Krick several months ago and could not be happier we changed from our previous provider.
Dr. Krick did a dental cleaning and one extraction for our 11-year-old cat. She provided compassionate care, frequent and consistent follow-up, was patient, skilled, and knowledgeable, and took a lot of time to answer my questions before and after the procedure. Most importantly, our cat recovered and healed well. They were transparent about the pricing beforehand, and there weren't any surprises post-procedure. This office, including the front desk staff and vet assistants, is highly organized, knowledgeable, and is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Krick!

I would like to leave an excellent Review for the Hilly Country Animal Hospital. My husband and I are new clients. The receptionist was wonderful in making our puppy appointment for vaccines. Today my mother-in-law had an emergency with her pup, we didn't know where to go, and Hill Country Animal Hospital was wonderful in helping with the situation. We didn't have an appointment, but they still provided excellent care! In a stressful situation, they took wonderful care. You could tell they truly cared! So glad to have this as our Vet! Thank you!

This clinic is awesome! I have taken all my babies to Hill Country for years and love the fact that the vets and their staff are compassionate, polite, informative and very understanding of your concerns and your pets needs.

The staff here is so caring and friendly. Dr Doty helped us through Max’s brain tumor and reached out when he lost his battle. They could always work us in when needed. Highly recommend.

Brought my dog in for exam and shots. While the staff were friendly, the prices are very elevated (I suppose the word “hospital” in the name explains this). While there, experienced several attempts at upselling. I did agree to a product they sell that claims to help with anxiety. It had zero effect. When I informed them it did nothing, they replied “No refunds. That’s the risk you take”. So just know that they don’t stand behind their overpriced ‘profit leader’ add-ons. ☹️ Won’t be returning. Not recommended.

Have a 6 year old Aussie and she has been a patient of Hill Country since she was a puppy. We've never had a bad experience, on the contrary docs and staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. I appreciate their transparency regarding cost/estimated costs and also their quick responses when lab work etc is done. Wouldn't take her anywhere else.

I was a customer for over a decade. Will NEVER refer another family and I will do my best to educate others on various platforms about their front office.
I was offered to get both my Labs nails trimmed and anal glands expressed at their office, I agreed. Not knowing at the time it was a small fortune. When I went to the counter to pay, I was shocked! I was charged $100 EACH dog for those (2) services combined. Another-wards $200 for both nail trim & anal glands. The same anal glands that the nurse said weren’t bad at all after she expressed, and nail trims that for one lab only consisted of a few toes because they said his quicks were long and didn’t need all his nails done. (I groom often)
I asked to speak with the office manager, which she became very defensive and started whispering behind a wall with techs and front office representatives. I explained that had I known that it would cost that much, I would’ve just taken them next door to the Palms Pet Resort, which is also owned by the same Vet or my groomer.
I assume they didn’t present me with an estimate prior becuase I’ve spent a small fortune already between this hospital and the Palms over the past decade. Maybe they thought I would pay anything?
IMO, this cost is highly inflated and if rates are inflated and differ from your own grooming company next door (Palms), then that should be told to a customer in advance. Not just assume a customer is ok with extremely high costs for basic services.
After explaining my concerns, the office manager continued to be rude, bothered, which trickled down to the front desk techs and their bad attitudes towards me. Fast forward, I paid and left.
A week later, I received a certified envelope that included (2) books of medical records and a letter from the office manager saying that I should get care for my Labs elsewhere.
I genuinely liked all the Vets, I was a customer for over a decade. The office manager and front office whom are the most customer facing are a different story and because of this I will educate others on my experience and very unfortunate situation!
