Service was great, I was greeted right away and was asked if I needed any help. I had just gone in to browse around. Very old books. I had gone in thinking it would be like a Half Prices Books store or Barnes and Noble, but there was nothing new or up to date.

I enjoy used book shops so much and this place was no exception. The place feels tight inside, but the aisles seem to go on forever - the shelves are well stocked, and it was fun to comb through all the titles.I found several titles that I had been looking for but hadn't found in other bookshops, along with a couple of classics and a few new books that looked intriguing.After checking out, I was told I could pick out a number of books for free from two designated shelves, and that number appeared to correspond directly with my total.Be aware of the extra fees that the shop owner charges. Some are posted; others, like the "stocking fee," did not appear to be posted anywhere and took us by surprise. It's about a 35 cent fee per item. They do not have a register, and everything is input by hand, with the fees clumped in with the price of the book (which makes it hard to break down the charges). When asking about the extra charges, the cashier got very defensive and almost frustrated with us, which threw us off. I'm sharing this, so hopefully, no one else has to deal with it.I would recommend subtotaling your items before checking out so you don't get caught off guard.However, my experience overall was a positive one, and I would definitely stop by again if I'm ever in the area.

I honestly adore used bookstores just like this one! I was able to pick up some Nora Roberts titles at my convenience. So excited to spend my nights reading . Thank you Books-N-Things.! If you’re in the Harlingen Area don’t be afraid and stop by!

I recently came back to the Valley to visit and was looking for a used bookstore because I love supporting small businesses rather than big corporations, and this place is SO AMAZING! It’s small but big at the same time and there’s wall to wall books and things everywhere that it feels so homey and comfortable. I didn’t buy anything the first time but I’ll definitely be buying a bunch of books on my next trip!

Its been a few years since I last came here and it's bigger than I remember! So many books to go through and easily spent an hour here just exploring! Maddie the shop pup came to check on us every so often which was definitely a bonus❤️ can't wait to come by again!
