Dr. Nelson and his staff are a very caring and compassionate group of folks. We were visiting family in Grand Prairie as part of a cross country RV trip when our cat became very ill on a weekend. The vet fit us into his schedule at the very first opportunity on Monday. The vet tech, Kia, was compassionate and skilled when examining our 19 year old cat, Sammie. Dr. Nelson recommended a course of treatment that worked very well for Sammie. The day before, he was so sick we thought he might die overnight. Since our visit last week, Sammie has made great improvement. Of course he is a 19 year old cat, so there are certainly no guarantees of him returning to and staying at full health for long. But Dr. Nelson has given him a chance and my wife and I are grateful.

I didn’t get Chika seen because no available times were available however the kindness and concern of staff was heart warming and appreciated I am scheduling with them soon for Chika to get her ears done!

I dropped off my nephew Max for a dental visit, allergy shot, and for the lump under his chin. My SIL was able to call ahead that I would be dropping him off. They took care of him, and then he came home sleepy. The next day, he was back to his bad-self.

I have been bringing my fur babies to Dr. Nelson for 20 + years and I would never go anywhere else. He is through, kind, loving to my baby and knows exactly what she needs when she needs him. I whole heartily trust my baby with him and his staff as they are very knowledgeable and kind and loving as well. If anyone ever asks me who to go to he is the one and only that I refer to. Thank you Dr. Nelson and staff for so many great years of service and to many more to come.Now & Always,Sandy, Mom Hale, & of course our little Kenzie. ?❤

I took my pets to Dr. Nelson for a few years because he was a decent doctor. Lately however I’m not sure what’s going on in there.I took my baby in for allergies at the beginning of may. Her feet were hairless raw and red from constant licking. He told me he couldn’t give her any medicine because she needed to go through a full allergy season. Only sent me home with shampoo to wash her feet it.About a month later I called back because she was clearly suffering and I couldn’t just watch her anymore. I had lost my job in the middle of all this so I was asking them if they could just give her the citapoint shot or apoquel without the appointment since he had already seen her and knew what was wrong, and once I got my paycheck from the new job I was waiting for I could bring her in after those three weeks.I called every day for a week and every day they kept telling me they would ask the vet. Not only did no one ever get back to me, but when I finally told them I was getting frustrated at the situation all they had to say to me was that “they weren’t able to reach him” and that it’s best if I just brought her in for a full appointment. I had explained my Job situation and that I was tight on money. In five days no one could find him to ask him one simple question? Okay.I feel like if they cared enough about her well being they could’ve worked something out. I don’t feel like I was asking for anything outrageous. I explained my situation to another another doctor and she left with medicine/antibiotics & she’s been doing great ever since.

Dr. Nelson takes the time to take the dog to like him and be comfortable around him before starting our dog’s evaluation. His office staff is very friendly and on point.
