This hospital is about 9 minutes from my house so I bring my kids or me here for any emergencies. I’ve always had a great experience with the nicest nurses and doctors, they are super fast as well. Elijah and Amanda were amazing at making my daughter feel comfortable today.

I recently visited Baylor Scott & White Emergency Hospital in Grand Prairie after a car accident. Initially, my experience seemed promising: the front desk staff was friendly, and I was quickly moved to a room. However, the positive impression quickly faded.
The nurse was efficient but didn’t stay long, and the doctor’s approach left much to be desired. He questioned why I waited so long to come in, despite my explanation about lacking transportation and hoping to recover on my own. The examination was brief, and I didn’t receive an X-ray or any in-depth assessment. Instead, I was advised to apply ice and take anti-inflammatory medication.
My visit felt rushed and lacking in thoroughness, especially since there were no other patients waiting. This experience highlighted what seems to be a broader issue with the quality of care at this facility. For a $375 charge and only ten minutes of attention, I left feeling that my concerns were not fully addressed and questioning the value of the care I received.
While the front desk staff was kind, the overall quality of care was disappointing. It’s crucial for emergency services to provide more than just a cursory examination, and this visit unfortunately fell short in that regard

Worse experience! Went in a basically told the ER is for serious issues and they couldn’t help me much more by Dr. Wong. Was questioned why it took me a week to come in and the way I was treated was exactly why I kept putting off going. Reading over the notes of the visit and just gross. Dismissing everything I said and making it seem as though the reason I was in there was not valid: but they turn around and still charge me several thousands of dollars FOR NOTHING! I have experience with BSW and this was by far the worst one I’ve been too. And Dr. Wong definitely needs to work on his bed side manner. That evening wasn’t even busy there might have been one other patient besides me and they acted like I was bothering them.

I was seen here 2 days ago for an abscess that needed to be drained.. I was given the option to take antibiotics and come back if the pain was worse and the abscess had gotten bigger, which was both in my case for tonight..
NP Mr.Chris was very rude when he saw me, told me that I needed to wait the full 10 days of the antibiotics to work before seeing a doctor because they would not drain it.. I was told by the doctor to come back if I felt more pain sick or the abscess had gotten bigger..He did not take what I was saying seriously and it’s also talking to me in a way that made me think he was trying to insult my intelligence..
He’s a horrible NP and I don’t think he likes or enjoy his job..
I went to another ER where they helped my abscess to drain, which is what I was wanting from this ER but did not receive because of NP Chris…
I will not use this er services again just because of NP Chris, he’s not the first or the last NP that will or have worked at this location that didn’t take patients seriously..
This ER is horrible..

This place is a sham. It exists for the sole purpose of giving fake care to patients and then collecting outrageous fees. They're particularly incompetent with children.
First Visit: We went there a month ago after my 1-YO daughter's finger got slammed in a door. Half of the tip of her finger was hanging by the skin, so we rushed to the closest ER we could find and ended up at BSW.
They cleaned the wound and glued it back together to stop the bleeding, then took an X-ray. They then put a splint on the wound (still bloody – they didn’t even clean it again before we went home) and sent us home with nothing but glue holding our daughter’s finger together, saying the wound would heal in a week or two. We were surprised that the glue was supposedly enough for a wound like that, but the doctor said it was fine, so ‘okay,’ we thought.
Second Visit: Well, surprise, surprise, the glue was not enough, because 2 days later, the wound had come apart and we were back in the same ER. This time, a different doctor was there. At least he was upfront this time, telling us he couldn't help us, and that we needed a hand specialist. He then had us wait about an hour and a half while he called around to find a place to send us to. All the while they just left us sitting in the room with our daughter’s finger bleeding, as we continually tried to keep her from touching it. After waiting unsuccessfully for a call back, the doctor released us (finger still untreated) and basically told us good luck finding a doctor.
Thankfully, we were able to get help at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and received great treatment. When we told them about our experience at BSW, they were appalled that (1) they had attempted to treat the wound with glue, (2) they didn’t even clean the wound after gluing it, and (3) they didn’t prescribe antibiotics. All basic stuff, they said.
Well, as if all this wasn’t bad enough, yesterday I got a bill for $1663 from BSW, split between both visits. $667 for the first visit (in which we received inadequate, incompetent care) and a whopping $996 for the second visit, during which they literally did nothing except clean and rebandage the still-gaping wound. It wasn’t enough that they couldn’t properly treat my daughter, now they want to take bread from her mouth. We will not be paying this.
Please stay away!! This place is incompetent at best, fake and predatory at worst.
Edit (7/10/2024): Called the number BSW gave in response to my initial review. Talked to a woman who said my bill was only the facility fee, and that she only handles the physician fee, which is still in progress. So apparently they're going to charge me even more still?! This is crazy. She redirected me to the people who supposedly handle facility billing. I sat on hold for 30+ minutes and gave up. Crazy how horrible this experience has been.

I certainly wish I could taste this place ZERO stars. I went in with a sharp back pain. They listed that I came in for abdominal pain only. Discharged me with a vague summary of what they felt was wrong and 3 prescriptions. I called back to hopefully speak with someone who could give me a little more clarity on my results so that maybe I can do a little more to help myself because the pain has not subsided in any way. Nurse Adam gets on the line with an attitude suggesting that I can't read. He then told me I was given two pain meds for abdominal pain which obviously don't work for the back pain I went in for; and an anti acid which was just given as a precaution. I advised the Dr that I take a prescribed anti-acid daily (omeprazole) so I'm not sure why I would need this one.
So here I sit, still in pain. Not knowing what's causing it with more anxiety and agitation because the rude nurse that didnt want to share his name felt some type of way about me calling the "professionals" to further understand what they saw and how they concluded my visit.
I would advise no one visit this place if this is the type of treatment patients have to look forward to. Currently waiting on a call back from corporate.
I did want to add that the young lady who took my blood sample was spectacular and kind; as well as the Yong lady who completed my ctscan. I'm not sure why nurse nobody was so rude and impatient. But I won't stop here because this type of treatment is unwarranted and inhumane.

The nurse Christopher is very rude and acts like he’s the physician and is scared to give any kind of medication , he thinks he’s very highly medically educated and thinks he can diagnose you and tell you what, with or when you can be allergic to something.. I give this place 0 stars and I’m not from the area I’m from 5 hrs away but please search for a different er. Sadly the only one doing his job and was kind and caring was the actual physician, not an RN. I don’t think the physician belonged at this ER he deserves to be at a better facility and with great staff that’ll give him a great reputation…

I've come to this location a few times, let's just say the night staff can't compare to the day staff(visit date 5-24-24 8:40pm). The front desk rep was rude, asking "what's the emergency?" No hello or welcome to baylor or nothing. I was attempting to let her know I'd lost my voice and she cut me off, loudly saying, "what I can't here you." If that wasn't enough when the ER provider(Tochi Ajiwe MD) came in he was dry, and had an apathetic attitude, after I stated all of my symptoms he was like "it's probably just viral but we'll run some test and see." I will say that the x-ray technician(I believe her name was Donna), and the lab technician were very kind ?. Once all the test he ordered was completed the provider comes back to tell me that it wasn't a P.E. like he suspected, it's just Pneumonia with the same callous attitude like I was wasting his precious time lol, then when I told him I couldn't take the meds he wanted to prescribe because I'm allergic he didn't believe me he said "I've never known anyone to be allergic to both." 3 things that bothered me apart from what's listed 1. I'm a medical professional myself and I don't care how I'm feeling I do not treat my patients poorly, 2. I'm black and I'm saying that because of my last point, 3. Out of all the staff I encountered the only ones that were kind, patient, caring, etc were the non black staff, I was excited when I saw them(black staff) and in those important positions and they acted like I just work here I'm here for the money and the title but that's all. I don't get why these kind of people even join the healthCARE field if they don't CARE about the patients that are in their CARE looking for help, looking for someone to see and hear and listen to them, looking for SOMEONE WHO CARES about there HEALTH if you can't be bothered to do that PLZ STAY OUT of the HealthCARE field!!!!!

I just went into the Emergency room and I was checked in and out so fast that I had to come on here as soon as I got out because everyone including the Dr went over and beyond! Excellent staff as well I had to ask everyone’s names Dr. Robles, Jackie, Greg, and Kayla I tip my hat off to all of you! Thank you for fast, accurate diagnosis, communication, and excellent patient service!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I just attempted to check in, very sick with a colon infection and I was met with an argumentative nurse. The Lobby was empty, NO ONE to care for, and instead of compassion I was met with hostility. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR HEALTH!

DO NOT COME HERE!! Wasted 3 hours with no reason to my pain. To find out they forgot to read me my CT results, and blood work results. I called them today cause I happen to look on MyChart. The guy that answer the ER phone was rude. He sound like sleepy. Lazy voice like he didn’t wanna be there and I was making his job harder by taking my call. He told me it was my pcp job to tell me my results. I was never told to follow up with my pcp regarding my results. I was told I was fine and I was discharged. When I told him I worked in healthcare as well he told me “good for you” I would never talk to any patient that way. My insurance is about to pay this high bill for them to be rude, and not give me any imaging/blood results. I live down the street from this hospital and I would rather drive to Medical City ER. Baylor you really need to change the whole ED team because the staff there is NOT compassionate about their patients.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. They give Baylor a bad name & should not be associated with the Baylor family at all. The staff is very incompetent & not friendly at all. They lack basic customer service skills. One of the nurses even called my mom by the wrong name. The only person that showed any type of concern or empathy was Ms. Ricky & the nurse with accent that was helping her. They both were friendly, professional, & very helpful but as for the rest of the staff I have no kind words to say about them. This entire experience was just horrible from the time my mom was seen in the er until unfortunately they had to admit her everything was just bad

Very bad experience! First off I am paying lots of money when I got admitted into the hospital and the doctor comes in on a rolling zoom cart. All this money and they don’t have a doctor present.
They told me I had to stay there 48-60 hours. I have important work stuff I have to take care off. So I said I could stay 24 hours and that’s it. Then they told me if I leave they will not be giving me any prescriptions. I specifically came there to get my asthma prescriptions. They wanted me to stay until the evening at least. But I wouldn’t be able to get my prescriptions because it’s evening time then I’m stuck being miserable at home With no inhaler. And they know I can’t breathe but if I leave against medical advice they will not give me any inhaler prescriptions! That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. If I go to another hospital won’t be there!
So I decided to leave against medical advice no prescriptions. Now I have to go pay more money for an urgent care clinic to write me asthma prescriptions. Waste of time and money at this hospital.
