The rudest ladies I’ve ever met. Barely talked to me while they held their own conversations. Not a place you should be giving your money.

We adopted a beautiful puppy from Hood County Animal shelter in July. She was infected/infested with antibiotic resistant Hookworms and Coccidiosis. She had a bowel movement immediately before they released her to us.As soon as we got home wit her, 5 minutes away she pooped huge, live worms. When we took her to the vet the next day we were informed that Hood County was infested with antibiotic resistant worms and coccidiosis. They didn’t even mention the live worms in her stool.Fast forward to having her spayed-The voucher they provided was worthless as they want it done prior to the animal being 6 months old.Not at all what the vet recommends.I have since moved out of town and my dog is scheduled to be spayed next Tuesday, on my dime, which is fine.I received a call today informing me that I will be receiving a citation if I don’t provide them proof of her being spayed, the female officer was being a bully.I planned on providing the documentation as I agreed in the adoption release.Very poorly educated staff and likely a major cause of the antibiotic resistant infestation of worms and coccidiosis in Hood County. No transparency about the condition of the animals they adopt out!

Got my fur baby from here. I was told she was 4 months and through the vet I found out she was actually 7 months. She had tapeworm BAD when I rescued her from this shelter. Staff was okay maybe they had a rough day. When I asked to meet the dogs the young girl in glasses acted very annoyed with me. I wanted to see which dog my daughter could bond with before I took a dog home with us. Also to make sure they were kid friendly. BUT I love the puppy we took home she fits in perfectly.

Helped me with a stray dog that wandered on to my property. Promptly returned phone call. I felt like they would take good care of this dog while owner was being found.

We went to the granbury animal control to find a puppy to adopt, the people there were friendly. When we were meeting our puppy they let us know she wasn’t sick, we brought her home and quickly saw she has live worms in her stool.

Y’all call these people nice ?? Yes a few are out going and willing to help but the lady who was helping Us adopt this cat has been very disrespectful over the phone when i call asking about the sweet cat I’m trying to take care of , she has hung up on me mid conversation when I had questions and proceeds to show how much she hates her job. Do better not only for the animals but for you self. Act your age cause this woman acts like a 17 year old high school girl

Front desk worker has a bad attitude but the sherif is golden and truly a kind person. If I was just rating her it would be 5 stars. But that lady at the front desk sucks and has no personality or people skills.

Very caring and compassionate vets, the entire staff is friendly and enthusiastic about helping bothe the people and their pets. They have saved 1 of our babies lives multiple times until it was time to finally let her go. And now they take care of our new baby and my granddog.

I took a bunch of donations into the shelter.I saw a dog I was interested in and they told me that I couldn't have the dog because a rescue was coming to pick them up another day. Then I asked for the name of the rescue because I still wanted to see about the dog, and they refused to give it to me. I don't understand why when someone wants to adopt a dog, you can't or at least know where it's going so you can follow up.
