“Prices are decent, meat is good, everyone I've met coming here and besides the old lady who just glares half the time everyone is really nice and helps me find good bbg and sausage.”
“Well,I can tell you that going thru a hurricane really sucks. I can also tell you that the next two to three days of living can really test your strength and faith. I recently had mine tested with hurricane Beryl. Although my mom had warned me over and over,I was convinced that it wasn't going to be a big deal. I was wrong. My mistake had me sitting in HEB parking lot with no fuel. I had a little money but the whole town of Livingston seemed to be out of electricity,therefore, no gas in the whole town. That did not stop HEB from opening their doors. Although no frozen/ cold foods were sold, I was able to get bread and peanut butter. I wasn't the only person to come in,honestly for a minute,I thought the whole town had come in. Yes,you may have guessed that the lines to check out were across the store.. well,I had time on my hands so I picked the longest one and resigned myself for the wait. To my surprise,the line seemed to just start moving very fast. Before I knew it,I was next in line behind a woman and ,I believe, her mother. The hero working the cash register was a young woman named Alma. I guess I never really put thought into who was working,as long as I was able to get my stuff. Now that I think about it,the people working there must've been hot, tired,( they also had to go through the hurricane),and probably very annoyed at all people. Looking at little Alma,you would never be able to tell. Because the mother,( of the duo) that was in front of me, decided she needed some cigs..her daughter,( was probably caregiver position), had stormed out of the store, mad because mom needed the cheapest cigs she could get,and was asking a lot of questions, successfully stopping the line from moving. As I watched, the cashier Alma,handled the lady with the utmost respect,and the lady left the store very happy. She did not try to rush her like I probably would have. So,in trying times people say the first responder people are heros. In many ways they are. But,for me that day,my hero was a cashier in HEB named Alma. I'd like to tell her thank you for making my faith in humanity shine through like sun light after the storm..????️☀️?❤️ ?”
“Nice employees that are always smiling and friendly. Unless the manager guy is there. When he is there, everyone looks sad. Sunny, the owner is really cool. I don't know why he would hire a grumpy grouch to be a manager.”
“Awesome chicken breakfast/lunch. Don't quite understand why they would not cook it all day. But regardless it's amazing when you can get it. The staff well it kinda depends on who is working and what kind of day they were having before. But most of them Try. Love Sonny and his wife even though Serra you may not love everyone back. “Love the fried and baked chicken sides also cobbler is so yummy, the store manager Dillion is the to go guy there,if they dont have it he will do his best to get it ordered and will call,text when it is in,the employees are awesome, store is always clean,vegetables always fresh their meat department is top notch,cause their butchers are always asking for your intake on their produce,choice cut meats. Their dairy products especially this half gallon milk products glass containers may be pricey but worth every penny,cannot go wrong on any flavor so creamy and delish”

“Livingston has experienced a flood one of the worst i’ve ever seen. This Dollar General is open and there is one lady working, she has been by herself and been nonstop since 9 o’clock this morning and it is noon, she’s been professional upbeat and extremely helpful. I’m not sure who this lady is but she deserves everything from Dollar General. It is May 2, 2024. I wish everything good happens to her.”

“A Phone Call Review: Changed my rating from one star to four. I felt I was on eternal(?) hold on phone after 10+ mins & entered a one star but she came back & pulled up an item I wanted to see if they had before I drove all the way there. They only have it by ordering online & she was very nice about looking it up once she came back to see if I was holding for automotive. I understand getting busy & forgetting the hold was for her.”
“Pretty good store but the managers are jerks half time. They don't seem to care that customers are walking around, they just jump out in front of your cart and push you out of the way. The entitlement is ridiculous.Once or even twice might be ok, but it's all the time. The regular employees don't even do it, just the managers.”

“Tiffany the Mgr is the absolute BEST! ALL of the negative reviews on here well.....if you read them are written by people that complain about everything. However, I must say, this store ROCKS! TIFFANY ROCKS! The Mgr of my local DG did not have what I needed and she immediately called Tiffany and she completely went above and BEYOND to accommodate my needs and request! I will ALWAYS AND FOREVER BE GRATEFUL FOR TIFFANY, SHE IS ONE IN A MILLION. AND THAT IS HOW SHE RUNS HER STORE!”
