On October 14th, I put in a request to get a new bank card issued as mine was cracked, and basically falling apart. The bank cards don't last like they used to.After waiting 2 weeks, my card still hasn't shown up, I decided to stop by the branch in Gonzales, Texas to inquire about it.The teller I spoke with was Seth, and I explained to him that my card has not shown up, and its been 2 weeks. Seth stated it should of shown up by now, and he confirmed my address was correct, which it was. Seth said he would cancel the card, and issue a new bank card, and it should take about a week to show up. I thanked him, and left.I decided to go pick my mom up, and we went out to eat at a local restaurant. We had our dinner, it was time to pay the ticket, when the waitress comes back to our table and said my card was declined.I knew I had sufficient funds in my account, so I called customer service. I don't remember the guys name I spoke to, but he was basically useless and said there isn't anything he could do. I became furious because not only was I embarrassed, but my current card should of not been canceled until I physically had the new bank card. That falls back on Seth for cancelling my current card and not the bank card that didn't come in. Luckily I had enough cash on me to cover the ticket.I went back to the bank, and waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes before I was able to speak to another teller. I don't remember her name, but I explained the situation to her, and I asked her if there was anything she could do, she was reluctant but told me to send the card up, and she would see what she could do. For good measure I also sent my drivers license as well.A few minutes went by, and she said she was able to reactivate my card, wait a few minutes and it should work. I made it withdraw just in case there was more incompetence and there was.I stopped at a gas station to make a purchase, tried using my card, and it was declined both times. I knew there was a reason I made it withdraw. Thanks for wasting my time, the embarrassment and ruining my evening RFBCU Gonzales, Texas branch.

This is a great place and a great way to save money it offers more options in services then most banks so I would suggest you skip the hassle of banks and join the Credit Union and save some real cash and time .

We have been waiting for a credit card to come in the mail since September that we have been approved for, it’s now December 6th and we can’t seem to get anyone on the phone to assist, constant transfers to different people only to have the automated person say they’re having difficulties and hangs up. Calling multiple times, having to re-explain the problem with no results, extremely disappointing. Using this review as a last resort to get some kind of customer service to reach out- otherwise we will have to find a new bank after over 20+ years

This bank sucks. Multiple class action lawsuits and they still keep figuring out ways to screw their customers. Customer service is a joke nowadays. I know! I have used every service they offer and I’ve been a member since the late 90s.

I am a huge fan of credit unions, and rarely do any business with banks anymore. I have been with RBFCU for almost a decade. We have done several car loans through them, which went smoothly and included a very low percentage rate. The tellers are always friendly and helpful. This location is small, but if I can avoid lunch and late afternoons, there is rarely a wait at all. Occasionally the coin machine is not operational. If I am driving into town just to use this service, I will call first. It takes a bit to get through to the local branch, but I can eventually get to someone via the phone system, and verify the machine is working before I make the trek in. There are locations all over the area, and while the other locations tend to be busier, they are all just as friendly and helpful. I can't imagine doing my banking anywhere else.
