I was attending an outside wedding so i didn't go inside the building. But the property is beautiful, and the service was pretty great.

The each room in the interior of the house is amazing! The furnishings and artifacts in each room are amazing...many are unique and antique historical items! The hosts Monica and Rob are amazing...very welcoming, friendly, helpful, informative, and accommodating! The breakfasts that chef trained Monica prepares are amazing! The location is perfect for walking into the center of Gonzales. We truly felt like we had stepped back in time!

Wonderful stay at this palatial property. The view from the outside is of a grand private residence that looks stunning with it's wrought iron gates, long driveway and well manicured gardens. We were greeted warmly by host Rob, who we asked to give a brief history of the property and Rob gave us all the essential info. A brief tour of this grand house, again at our request, & we saw all the period pieces accumulated by the current owners, all kept in great condition. It was like walking into a living house from times gone by, but with modern amenities, microwave, fully stocked kitchen etc. The room itself was a grand period piece, the room full of lovely old pictures in gilded frames, a massive beautiful bed with present day bathroom and TV, coffee maker and fridge. Snacks and cold drinks in the host were welcomed, if not used. You can sit on a lovely communal large balcony at the front of the house in the evening and relax to the sounds of the local birds. Breakfast was freshly cooked by Robs partner Monica, and it was a real treat. Great home cooked food to start the day. A walk around the rear of the property in the morning gave us a chance to look at more lovely greenery and a small pool. Check out was easy and the hosts personally saw us off with a smile and warm wishes. We would highly recommend this property.

The caretakers are sweet and the breakfast is sooo good. The bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing. Has a great pool and is in a quiet area! We plan to come back next year and maybe make this a yearly thing now.

The level of hospitality is the best. You could not ask for better host. As we arrived on Memorial Day and all the local restaurants were closed the host graciously offered to go to the store and cook us dinner. How wonderful is that. What a marvelous step back in time, from the parlor to the library to the rooms. All kept up to the highest of standards but still warm and cozy to make you feel at home. The grounds are so beautiful and the prefect place for relaxing. We met some wonder guest as well on our stay. We plan to go back on our next visit to Texas.

My husband and I have stayed at Belle Oaks for at least the last five or six years. It's a lovely, gracious mansion set in the middle of an expansive lawn boasting magnolia trees at least a hundred years old, but what we loved most about the experience was Dennis, the host. Dennis crafted exquisite breakfasts and somehow made total strangers feel like old friends at his expansive breakfast table. Dennis's friendliness and personality made staying there a delight. This time, however, we discovered the host had changed, and the new one, while not offering specifics, made what my husband and I considered some unflattering remarks about Dennis. I can't complain about the "basics"--the rooms are the same, the beauty of the place is the same, we still enjoyed coffee and wine on the balcony, and breakfast was nice (but not what we'd grown to expect), but without Dennis, Belle Oaks is missing its soul. If you've stayed there in the past, don't expect things to be as they were before. They're not. Next year, we'll be looking for another place to stay.

Gonzales is a history-rich town with wonderful historic homes and Belle Oaks Inn is at the top of the list. If you love stepping back in history, then you don't want to miss this one. Rob greeted us and enthusiastically provided a detailed history of the home and gave us a tour of the home and grounds. We stayed in the Boothe room located on the ground floor that had beautiful furnishings and a huge jacuzzi tub. Pampered by chef-prepared breakfasts were the ultimate. Blueberry scones were the best we ever had. (Thank you Monica!) The home is filled with beautiful antiques and the library offers quiet time. The grounds are rich with massive live oak trees and magnolia trees. We sat on the wrap around porch to enjoy listening to the birds singing while taking in the beauty of the grounds. The Gonzales driving tour with well-placed signs is a must so you can see all the majestic homes by car. We loved the small town feel of Gonzales with its multiple town squares. (There are seven of them!) Great antique stores and wonderful restaurants were a delight. We felt pampered by Rob and Monica's hospitality and we plan on returning!

In Gonzales to visit friends who are building a house there. What a beautiful place to stay! The rooms are well appointed. Beds are comfortable. Hosts are so welcoming and hospitable. I suggest calling to book your room. We booked the Riatta room. The Riatta room has a full size, as opposed to a queen size bed. It says this plainly in the description, but I got carried away and wanted to book the masculine room for the hubs, so I missed it. We are not full size bed people. Not. We mentioned our mistake in the morning, and were promptly moved to another gorgeous room, but with a queen bed. The gardens are lovely. The porches are perfect for solo escapes. And the breakfasts are upscale and delicious. There is a 24-hour butlers pantry with drinks and snacks. Have I mentioned the awesome hosts? Definitely make your way to the Belle Oaks, even if it's a little out of your way. You'll be glad you did.

The Belle Oaks is a fabulous B&B. We stayed in the room on the main floor that was perfect. We enjoyed the grounds and the peaceful feeling all around us. Got to know our hosts Rob and Monica who made us feel so comfortable. Monica's breakfast was outstanding. Actually there was absolutely nothing we did not enjoy in our short visit. Next time we will stay longer.
