We ended up here due to Beryl, it was amazing to find this treasure. Ms. Maggie the manager was amazing, help me get the room we needed and accommodate us. The town is small but has so much history. We hope to come back one day again.

Great experience! Very clean room! The service is way and above. The manager Maggie is the best. If she was anywhere near the Dallas area, I'd offer a job with my company because of her professionalism and her personal ability. Characteristics that are a rarity to find in people today.

We have been to Gonzales several times to visit family. We never stayed at any place there a second time. We have found our place at The Alcalde. People are very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious right in the middle of this quaint little town. Great place to stay.

Beautiful small hotel right in the middle of Gonzales Texas, birthplace of Texas freedom. 1 block from the square and jail museum, and a few blocks from the Gonzales Memorial Museum, where you can find the famous "COME AND TAKE IT" cannon.Over 100 years old, and it shows in the stunning aesthetics. Nice spacious rooms with wall safes and views of the courthouse and historic jail. Wonderful historical hotel that is quaint and beautiful. The building is located downtown where more historical buildings, churches and homes and great restaurants are within walking distance. The check-in experience is so easy and simple. The rooms are clean, and the price is great! I definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic trip, a family destination or if you just want an historical adventure.

My husband & I were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. This hotel & its location was perfect. Very cozy, nice, quiet & historical. We love old historic buildings/hotels.Thank you, Alacade family for the great hospitality at your hotel.Buddy & Donna CrandallRooms: The room was decorated nicely. We loved the Keurig coffee maker. The bed was as comfortable as our bed at our house. We weren’t anxious to get back to our bed this time.Nearby activities: This hotel is right on the square. All of the town festivals & events are held on the square. Like: Come And Take It. Right by all shops & restaurants.Safety: We felt very safe at this hotel. The doors had electronic locks. The management team even made a list of extra safety tips.Walkability: Right on the square by all the restaurants and shops. Never had to get in the vehicle, except when we went to Shiner.Food & drinks: Walking distance of the best food & drinks in the area.

We have booked at the Alcalde numerous times over the last five years or so. Great location right downtown Gonzales with private off street parking. Walking distance to antique shops, boutiques, restaurants, monuments, museums, etc. Wonderful historic hotel with lots of surrounding historical sites. Staff is very friendly and professional with attention to details. Will definitely continue to stay here in the future.

We just recently stayed at the Alcalde Hotel in May 2023. It was a wonderful experience. The Alcalde Hotel is beautiful with spacious rooms, clean and very comfortable. The staff was great and accommodating. We highly recommend this place. The history of the hotel is very interesting along with the city of Gonzales.We look forward to staying here the next time we visit Gonzales.

The most amazing stay!!! The hotel is right on the square, near several places of interest in the downtown area. The staff was FANTASTIC!! So friendly and make you feel right at home! And the best part is the historic feel of the place, so neat!!

Great stay. I love the small town, family owned feel of this place. It was right on the square so its super easy to get around.Walkability: 10/10, shops and restaurants are all right on the square, barely had to drive during my stay
