Love this place all around! Set in the foothills of the Brazos River Valley, the drive in is just as beautiful of an experience as being at the lake. Glen Rose is a hidden gem in itself, and this whole area is something special.

So gross,? there was duck poop everywhere from the parking lot to the water. You could not put anything down to sit on because poop was everywhere. No swimmable beach area for small kids, no shower, no AC in the restrooms.

Happen to be camping about 10 minutes from here and the locals said it was a great place to go for fishing. With the wind and cold front, it was not the best day to fish, but we did get to enjoy some wonderful scenery! This park is neatly kept and manicured down to the waters edge for a good portion of the lake. There is a good number of shelters with picnic tables and charcoal grills for lunch retreats and weekend getaways. The restrooms were neat and clean and for a state park, this is a huge plus! There is a place to launch a kayak or any other legal boat for this park. No gas motors so make sure you are aware if that before you go. Overall a great park, was just a little pricey for entrance in my opinion. $30 for a family of four to go here. However it is pet friendly as long as they are leashed! There is an awesome walking trail that goes around the lake as well so that you can get some good exercise with your pets! They also have a good swimming area with a dock you can swim out to and jump off of!Restrooms: Clean!!Dog-friendliness: Just keep them on a leash!Picnic area: Plenty of shelters for picnics with charcoal grills!

This is the cleanest lake and property that you can go to in north Texas. Fun snorkeling, fishing and kayaking place, no motor boats allowed. Pictures say it all!

This is heaven for kayakers, trolling motors, scuba divers and Stand up Paddlers! The water is 12 ft clear and up to 60 ft deep. There is quite a bit of vertical vegetation on the banks so it is tough fishing from the bank. There are very nice covered sites and a nice beach area. Limited hours during the day, no access at night. $10 for out of county.

2023: park is still a nice place and kept very well. Scuba Diving is not as last year visibility is horrible, not sure if it's the rains we had or the change on water level after they open the river to fill out up again. Butt that was months ago and it had not improved.2022: Scuba in the park is good specifically on Saturdays Sundays after swimming visitors it gets more murky but still better than Terrell's. Water level is good right now.May 6th water was murky barely 3' vis. Odd.Restrooms: 1 restroom in the park Men and Women separate by the Storm shelter in between.Restroom are usually clean and we'll kept.Shower outside opposite side of entrance.Picnic area: There's a big picnic pavilion a d individual tables with roof. We'll kept.
