This is a cute little gallery. Very small but had some great works of art at the time when I went. They have a small gift shop. I recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

I volunteered here for a year awhile back. Firstly, the art exhibited is often both interesting and engaging especially for such a small venue. I'm being generous with my 3 stars, since I found those in charge of the facility operations to be condescending and dismissive of volunteer input. I tried to become more involved in the loose operational functions but was immediately shut down. Due to my excessive senior level management background, I felt completely under valued. This was especially true of the the male members of the board. Keep this in mind if you're thinking about this venue as a volunteer opportunity.

Considering that this art center is completely run by volunteers (that’s right - no pay), it is astounding what they accomplish. Their work adds vibrancy to the community and increases tourism. It’s a great little place, but if city council would recognize the need for professional staffing (paid), their contribution to the Georgetown’s arts/cultural/tourism would be phenomenal.

As an artist, working with GAC was a phenomenal experience. I loved how our art was displayed for the show and bringing my friends and family to the space!

Although this is a very small art center, it is one of my favorite places in GT. Each exhibit offers something new and interesting to enjoy and experience. Not all of the art is necessarily my "cup of tea" but I feel moved and intrigued with all of the offerings. The Art Center is housed in a historic building just off the Williamson County square. Originally the city of Georgetown’s city hall, jail, waterworks, and fire station, Firehouse Number 1 was transformed in a renovation in 2013. The Georgetown Art Center opened in October of 2013 and has been run by a dedicated staff of volunteers and the Georgetown Art Works nonprofit organization.
