We came here twice for our sweet Sneakers. One time was when we first moved here and the second was when he passed away to drop him off to be cremated. They were so wonderful to us and caring. I called to see if they could help us and they were really understanding and said we could bring him in or call when we arrived and they could come get him from us in the car since it was probably to emotional for us. When we pulled up I called and someone came out to the car and presented us with cremation box options, it was easy and very nice of them. I will bring my other dog here from now on because of how amazing they are! I highly recommend this vet.

After coming here for several years, we wil not be returning after today's visit. I don't even know where to begin and hope that my message is acknowledged and someone makes contact with me to address what happened today. I took my old lady in because she has been showing signs & symptoms of a UTI. We arrived on time, and greeted nicely. We went to the exam room and I explained what has been happening. The vet tech was polite, however not very communicative or informative. I requested a urine screening, and she suggested a blood screening as well. I asked if the blood screening would report a UTI, she said she wasn't sure. I then asked how a urine sample will be collected, since she had just urinated before we arrived. She said that they can get a sample easily, and I asked how. She said they will turn her over on her back, use a probe to see her bladder and then get a sample. I said that seems invasive and unnecessary, so I'll just wait a little bit and walk her to catch the urine. Anyways, she said she would take my pup to the back for blood work and to weigh her. My pup refused to go, and I explained she has leash aggression, anxiety around other dogs and prey drive for smaller dogs. So I went back with her. The floor was wet and my pup slipped everywhere, which is not good for her hips. I put her on the scale - I was trying to get her stand still- took a few mins, the tech was rushing and said I'll write down 71lbs. I said hang on, she's actually 68lbs. Then she said they will take blood and I said ok where should we go. She said right here, meanwhile there were small dogs everywhere and so much happening in the tech pit are. I was surprised they didn't just come to the room, it would have been much easier and less stressful. The tech held my pup, and I was reminding her of her bad hips and don't apply so much pressure to her back. And the other tech stuck her but didn't get blood. I said don't stick her again, please get someone who knows how to draw blood. The other tech came over and got the blood. Ok, then I said I am going to walk her to get urine sample, and I knew she had to poop (it was that time). The tech said I'll come with you and catch the sample. She was rushing my dog, and kept saying she's not going to go. I said hang on - it's been 30 seconds. She popped immediately and I said she will have to pee next. She said ok let's go in and we will get the urine sample another way. I said just give it a few mins and I'll have it. She was rushing me and it was awkward. So we went back in and I said now what. They said to go into a small room with a scale and a machine, but then the doc said don't go in yet it needs to be cleaned. Then they cleaned it and floor was wet. I said how is this going to work. She said we will pick her up and flip her on her back. And then have the doc use the probe to see her bladder. I said ok just be careful of her hips. They flipped her over and held her down, I said where is the doc. They said oh someone needs to get her. My pup was traumatized and then the doc comes - says nothing and squeezes alcohol from a bottle on her stomach from 4 feet in the air, like what the heck? The forcefully grabs the machine and probes her stomach. The bladder was small, I saw it on the picture. She sticks her with a syringe and then says I can't get it her bladder is the size of a quarter. Ok, so if you saw her bladder and it was not expanded - why stick her? I go back to the room for 15 mins, I was on a call and the doctor came in. She didn't even introduce herself just grabs my pup and pulls on her legs forcefully. I said hello, who are you? Can we slow it down and have a conversation first? She said the blood work was normal and she is giving me a cup to collect the urine - and bring it back soon. I said I'll go outside now and get the urine sample. She said ok that's fine - just bring it back soon. I went to front, and said I'm going to get a urine sample now and bring it back. They said

I have a mini Aussie who had diarrhea for an extended time. I repeatedly told the vet that something was wrong. They kept ignoring me. They prescribed things for salmonela and sent me on my way. My dog was losing weight. 6 months passed. 4 visits to the vet. She had lost 41% of her body weight, and they still weren't taking me seriously. She even became food aggressive for the first time ever and attacked my elderly dog. I switched to another vet and the first thing they did was a blood test which GVH never did or asked for. The new vet found out that my dog has a chronic pancreas disease and needs medication at every meal. She is now gaining weight and returning to herself. Avoid GVH.

I took my 17 year old dog here for the entirety of her life and they made it so long and happy. When it was her time they made the process incredibly simple for me. They were so considerate of my feelings and really made the moment special! I recently had to book a last minute appointment for my other dog before I went out of town. They squeezed him in, fixed all of his skin issues over night and made sure I went on my trip with peace of mind that my dog was happy and healthy. Can't recommend this place enough. Incredibly sweet and knowledgeable staff. My dogs are always in good hands here. Thank you for all you guys do!

Unprofessional team. Scheduled an appointment but when we showed up they said there was an error and could work us in at the end of the day for an additional fee. Unapologetic and a bit rude. So disappointed

Maggie ate my neighbors dog good. I knew I was in trouble. She now has severe pancreatitis. Thanks to Dr Crews and her staff for taking care of Maggie. It took two visits, lots of tests, and a lot of love for Maggie. But hopefully she is going to get better. The staff stayed late to take care of Maggie. They are all kind and professional. Maggie and I appreciate all their efforts.

I made an appointment for my cat today at 2:30. I showed up 20 minutes early and parked in their lot and asked for help to bring my cat into the veterinary hospital because he is too heavy for me, I have Rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and shoulders and It is a hot day. I waited seven minutes in the car and called again. They said "your appointment is at 2:30", and I said "it's hot out here. Could I please come inside?" , and the woman, Nicole, impatiently said "as soon as we can, someone will come out and get you". It is too hot to wait any longer, and I've lost my trust in Nicole's words. I then struggled and carried in the cat carrier cross the parking lot, moving it a few inches at a tum, then putting it down and relifting, (my cat weighs 18 lbs plus the carrier). One of the other customers saw and helped me. Upon entering, Nicole looked at me and said "may I help you?" I said, "not now, I needed help getting him out of the car." I Then was helped by a technician, who put me in this room and closed the door, and said "we will be with you in a while because we are still working on our 2 o'clocks", which she did not say with any patience or empathy whatsoever; At this time it was 220, so it was 10 minutes before my appointment, which obviously appeared to be very offensive to the staff. I am very easy to get along with. I'm a 60-year-old woman with arthritis in my shoulders and I couldn't get them to help me carry my cat carrier. Customer service is extremely important, especially when the client is dealing with a sick family member, even if it's a fur baby. Im here now, I have not received good customer service yet. If I could just pick up my cat and go to another vet right now, I would. Customer service and training starts at the top and trickles down, that speaks volumes about the management of this office. I just opened the door, see if there's anything on the back of it which there wasn't. I asked a technician, Sierra, please don't forget I'm in here, and she impatiently said "your appointments at 2:30." It was already past my appointment time. I merely wanted to make sure I was not forgotten because there was no indication on the door that anyone was in this closed room. Based on the treatment that I had gotten prior, me being forgotten in the room, maybe even intentionally, was not unthinkable. She came in 5 minutes later. I just asked Sierra to express the cats anal glands because we have had problems in the past with them rupturing and it's been an emergency hospital issue, she curtly said "I'll see if it needs to be done or how he'll tolerate it." I said "it needs to be done" and she said well "we'll see how he tolerates it. We don't like to do it." Sierra just brought him back and said that his anal glands were full and that she emptied them. That should not have been so hard to request. The vet, Dr. Crews, was top-notch. She explained things to me in a manner which I could understand. Definitely had the best interest of my pet in mind. She gave me some very good advice. The reason I'm giving this hospital 3 stars is because of the customer service I received. From the moment I pulled in the parking lot I was treated like I was a burden to all of the staff. This was so offensive to me, that Dr Crews, even though she is amazing, will only be my back up vet, because I do not like being treated poorly, especially by business that I am paying. I am literally paying them to mistreat me, this is wrong. The staff needs to realize that the clients, like me, literally pay their paycheck. Without clients, there is no money.

Amazing veterinarians and team. By far the best one we have ever gone to. They care and respect the love you have for your animal. They offer you options, don't over charge and most importantly care about your pets. Won't go anywhere else.

It makes me sad to write this since we have been going there for years; however, I am not sure we will be going back after the last experience we had. A couple weeks ago my family had to make the devastating decision to put down our elderly dog due to an illness that was worsening. I had to make the extremely hard appointment to euthanize him and when I called the schedulers said that they could fit me in with the vet I requested. I thought that was very kind of them to move things around so we could have the appointment with a vet we knew. We went in for our appointment at the previously set time. Having not had a phone call I assumed everything was as scheduled. We get called back to the treatment room during one of the hardest times of our lives and begin to prepare. The tech comes in and does a preliminary check. She then proceeds to tell us that Dr. so and so will be coming in shortly. Dr. So and so was NOT the vet that I both requested and thought we were scheduled with. At that point we were a stuck because our poor dog was suffering so much that we had no choice but to go through with the appointment. I was so upset at the time that I chose to take a bit to calm down after it was over. In the next few days no phone call to check in or apologize for the mix up. I was livid. I called them and asked to speak to the manager but she was not there. After calling back and waiting on Hold twice, I spoke with the assistant manager who I feel now just gave me lip service. She said she was sorry and would talk to the schedulers and the managers about the situation. Since then there has not been a phone call or any type of follow up. The only correspondence I have received gotten was a short call to tell me has ashes were there. No let us know if you need anything, I'm sorry about the mix up, nothing! Not even a follow up call from management. Needless to say the experience was terrible and the accountability non-existent. I don't think we will be returning. Edit: after speaking with the manager I feel like this situation will not happen again. I will happily continue to bring my fur baby there. 2nd edit: After speaking with the manager who gave me a good "tell me what I want to hear" speech, they then sent me a welcome to our practice card in the mail rather than a sorry for your loss card. No additional follow up other than getting an email recently for my other pet's shots are due. Old Town Vet will be our new home I think.

I highly do not recommend coming here. Spent almost 500 dollars just for my dog to be acting the same way. They took my dog to the back ran a few pricey test, came back in and told me she just needed over the counter prescription. Felt like they just wanted the money and didn't really care for my dog. I moved from south austin, found a amazing vet over there i should've just trusted my gut and gone with him but since these guys were closer to me i thought i'd try it out. big regret.

Been in the Austin area since 1999 and this by far is the best Vet Hospital EVER ! There's a Vet less than a quarter mile from me but I get an Uber costing me $$$ to go to Georgetown . My sweet fur daughter Shayna got a big splinter in her foot running in the yard and the Dr. personally came out to talk to me over what she was going to do etc. , they didn't just have the Tech take her to the back , they put me at ease ! The compassion from everyone there INCLUDING Receptionists is amazing . You're not just a number . I will never go anywhere else even if I moved 40 miles away , which I'm pretty close to that literally already . They go above and beyond and truly care . Love love love this place and so does my baby !!!

Excellent care when my 12 year old dog had a slipped disc. Did not immediately jump to surgery, gave instructions for strict cage rest. My dog recovered fully and was back to her goofy self.

Hands down, the best vet I've ever been to. They were recommended to us about 3 years back from an Emergency Vet, and we have not looked back since. Every doctor here is phenomenal and they truly take care of your puppers and other animals you may own. I can speak volumes about how awesome Dr. Tackett is as well. I would have no other vet office work with my pets at this point. The Vet techs and reception staff are incredible as well.
