Everyone I dealt with on my rental was real helpful. I was renting a 10'x30' spot for my boat. They would not let me look at the spot until I rented. I rented and went in to look at it. The space is actually 9' wide (and that is being a little generous....). Wish they had told me that up front. The area between the parking spot and the storage units is fairly is limited. This spot would be ok if you have a normal size vehicle (width), but a little extra room for backing a large trailer/boat would be nice. Due to the width issue I had to cancel my rental.

Fabian was great to work with. I asked about a specific unit availability and when he saw it became available shortly after speaking with me, he called me and was able to transfer my unit quickly.

Horrible customer service!!!
Owner is a real absentee landlord and customer service is farmed out to a foreign country.
They Raise prices every few months. Started at like $89 per month and now it is $134 per month for the same damn unit.
Forced to pay insurance on top of rent, even though I have insurance!!!
Not all payments documented. No assistance offered if you fall on hard time!!!

When I first moved into my unit located in Georgetown, Tx in August of 2021, the unit was broken into within the first few days of moving in. The lock wasn’t even broken. When I made the contract I let the agent know that I would be using my own renters insurance and that I would call back after notifying my insurance company to make the changes. When I called back the agent told me that renters insurance had already been applied. After a short discussion I decided to leave it insured by the insurance offered by Sparebox. Within the next couple of days my unit was broken into and all of my electronics, most of my kitchen equipment, clothes, and household items were stolen. I filed a report with Sheriff’s office and called Sparebox to report it. The directed me to the insurance company who denied my claim, because the agent that applied the renters insurance to my account scheduled it to begin in September. My loss was over $1000. Sparebox off a free month ?. A year later, I moved out in August. At move out I was told that I had a refund of $240 and should be received in approximately 10 business days. I think they meant 10 business years because I’ve called over and over since August and have yet to receive the refund. Each time I call the issue gets “escalated” to get resolved quickly and at the end of every call each agent promises to call back with an update and no one ever calls. I’ve asked to speak to a manager repeatedly. I get placed on hold and a manager has yet to be available since August. I emailed the Sparebox customer service and got the same response that after reviewing my claim the issue has been escalated. That was on December 14th. It’s now December 26th and still haven’t received it. I paid on time every month as expected, and Sparebox can’t even expedite a refund in less than 5 months. Rent here at your own risk. When I reported the break in to the Sheriff he stated that multiple break ins had been reported in a short period of time just as I had moved in, but cases couldn’t be solved because there is no camera surveillance. Use this place at your own risk.

Updating my review after being contacted by a representative.
Jackson gave me a call only a few hours after I left an initial one star review. I had some issues getting my rental set up, and ended up being charged four times without receiving a box. He explained they were having some IT issues, and he was able to get the superfluous charges reversed, and push the lease through to get me a box.
By far the best customer service experience I’ve had with any company. I never expected a resolution on the company’s end, and was prepared to resolve things through my financial institution, but SpareBox went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Thank you again for your help Jackson!
