When was the last time the produce counters were deep cleaned. Everytime we go there is always mold on the organic produce.

Updated below: Went in on Friday to pick up a cake for a party. The young lady that assisted me was very friendly and provided outstanding customer service. The disappointment came when my daughter cut her cake. It just ruined the entire experience. And the disappointment on her face nearly made me cry. Can’t take that moment back.
UPDATE
My daughter Mattie was given another cake to make-up for her birthday. But I have to say she got a good laugh, so that made up for what she experienced on her birthday. Glad she noticed she now has a new name and will be going by Mary from here on out. Laughter makes all things better. And that deserves 5 stars. ? and once again the young lady that was there this time when I came in on Sept 6th around 2:50-3pm was so kind and very pleasant to talk with. She to gave outstanding customer service.

Tried to do a pick up order and got a text that my order was picked up. I never picked up my order. So someone else took my items. Don’t do pick up orders at this location!!!

The young man who was working the fresh meat counter today was rude. He showed no interest in helping us, the customers. He acted as if he was too good to work there.

Really liked this store, in house tortillas and pico are fantastic. Used to love the meat counter, however, last two times I have been given chicken that smelled rotten when I got it home. On top of that had a terrible experience with check out person. Don't know if I'll be back.

I ordered a cake here for an event with a 2 WEEK notice . I get a call THE MORNING OF the event of a bakery worker telling me they don’t have the size I ordered . And on top of that also that they don’t have the marble flavor I ordered. I was so upset since I get a call the DAY of the event regarding the cake. The girl was no help and was literally not giving me any alternatives. She was just quick to blame the girl that took my order saying she made too many mistakes , she also stated that the paper she took my order from was old and they have told the manager in the past about it and they don’t ever care or want to update it.. As if that makes it right. I ask for a manager and was put on hold for 20 min. I decided to hang up and call again. Another lady answered me and said her manager was busy looking for something and couldn’t talk to me. She began to give me options but was going to charge me double my original quoted price. I was not okay with that since I was paying double for a way smaller cake and she did not understand why I was upset for paying MORE for a smaller cake. She finally gave me other options and started saying the design I wanted was also not possible. She then gave me an option with the same price but couldn’t tell me how much a cake could feed because she said it all depends how you cut it.? I was over it at this point and she just took an order close to what I needed. I get to the place and the bakery worker approached me with the cakes. They were NOT what I had in mind at all and she kept repeating that that’s what I originally ordered when I did not since the cake was smaller and not even the flavor I wanted. I then go to check out and ask for a manager. The manager wasn’t sure how to help me so he got the assistant manager Sergio. He approached me rudely and wanted me to repeat the story for the third time. While I was explaining he literally could NOT tell me anything. He stood quiet and kept staring at me like I was stupid and none of what I said mattered to him. He approached me with the bakery lady, and the bakery lady Domi kept repeating to him and myself that that’s what I ordered originally. Throughout this whole conversation Sergio looked at me blankly and basically had a “are you done” face. He just kept saying “what would you like me to do now”… uhh aren’t you the assistant manager? Aren’t you supposed to tell ME how to help me?! He gave me a discount for the cake but didn’t even apologize for ANYTHING. He just told the cashier what to ring me up for , the cashier even looked at him like that’s it? I asked her if he was the store manager and she laughed and said no. I don’t even think his staff takes him serious. DO NOT ORDER A CAKE IN ADVANCE FROM HERE, THEY WONT CHECK YOUR ORDER UNTIL THE DAY OF!!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND THE WORST MANAGEMENT!!

I’m writing this in hopes they do better. Please start regularly checking expiration dates. Often the fruit is spoiled and on discount to purchase. Refrigerated juices, refrigerated pickles, string cheese, pre packaged bakery items and Ready-To-Heat meals are expired. This is not a full checklist … it’s necessary to full audit the products you’re selling to a community that has limited access to fresh groceries.
A few years ago Tom Thumb underwent a store restructuring which I hoped included a quality assurance training. Unfortunately, I have not experienced a level of quality improvement.
I ask please let our blue collar community have access to healthy, non- expired , quality foods.

I had a very bad experiences with Tom Thumb at Firewheel. Their weekly sales ads are just a deceiving sales pitch!.They selling low quality watermelons under Weekly discounted sales also there’s empty aisles for days together for the sale products. I know there may have a lot of excuses but keeping up a good business culture is what customers looking for.

Cindy in the floral department is the epitome of what true customer service service is. She was honest she was very helpful in helping me find something nice for my parent’s anniversary. balloons flowers the works! I was at the Tom Thumb in Rowlett and they were rude and not helpful. I was so grateful that finally someone took the time to listen to me and help me pick something really nice from their day!
