I love this place. The trainers are friendly and knowledgeable. Equipment is well taken care of. Facility always very clean. They regularly invest back into improving the facility. Just today they were repairing and/or replacing several weight machines and they are in process of construction of the steam room. This building has been around for many years however feels modern. I feel the price is fair for the cleanliness, constant improvement, amenities, and staff. Opening at 4 am on weekdays is a major plus as well.

I've been a member at LifeTime Fitness for over 9 years, and my experience has been nothing short of amazing. I recently had an interaction with Wayne who serves as a Manager at the Garland, TX location. He showed outstanding customer service in helping me with a member account matter. His dedication to maintaining a top-notch facility is clear. He always goes out of his way to ensure members feel welcome and supported, with a smiling face. I highly recommend LifeTime Fitness Garland, or any location at that, and appreciate all the staff, classes, kids club, spa, cafe, etc. & overall environment that make it such a fantastic place! THANK YOU!

As a former employee, I feel compelled to share that this gym and its location seem to neglect both their employees and members. The aquatics program, in particular, is problematic due to the poor management of Alexia Berger. Her approach often involves charging for unnecessary swim lessons and failing to address members' expectations or needs. Additionally, her treatment of staff is concerning, as she disregards their well-being, creating challenging situations for both employees and members. Ken Bisel also contributes to the problem, as he does not seem to care about his employees' concerns or well-being.

Fix the basketball court issue. Basketball is a huge reason many people go to the gym, fun competition and fun way to get your cardio in. Yet the majority of the time the court is taken up by kids events or kids classes. There is an entire rock climbing section that isn't used (another reason for the 1 star review) and many other rooms that are vacant most of the time where the kids can be, yet they occupy the courts. The weights area and classes are not worth the price point as they are no bigger than say LA or 24 hour fitness gyms. Give me rock climbing and basketball anytime I want and it makes more sense. As of now this gym Is an overpriced LA fitness/daycare. I left my previous gyms as this felt like it would be a one stop shop and it simply isn't.

If I could give them a zero, I would.Front desk is incredibly rude and very difficult to deal with. Reported several times to the main cooperat office, I haven't heard back usually means I don't want to speak to you -plain and simple. This makes a very bad impression and doesn't show the company in its best light.

Very unprofessional personnel. We scheduled an one hour tour. It turned into 7 mins Q&A session without a tour. Website has more information then representative was ready to provide. Looks like Life Time Fitness in Garland is not interested in new members at all. I had strong feeling that I wasn’t welcome there.

Best gym! I’m finally motivated to go because for $130 a month, you can’t afford not to go ?

We've been members for 4+ years & the adult amenities are great. The fitness floor, Pilates (extra $), & locker rooms were nice & clean.
Now for the kids' amenities - Regina is over the kids' department & is very nice & listens to concerns. The kids classes were great until my older kid (9) aged out of the younger classes. I could rarely schedule congruent classes for both of my kids. My 9yo is too young for the fitness floor, but really too young for the classes offered in the children's center. If a class doesn't make, they often just end up playing dodgeball or gym games.
Parents night out - best perk of the children's membership! I usually still fed my kids before/after because one small slice of pizza & a juice isn't much, but it's a nice perk.
My biggest complaint is family swim time. Our main focus in the summer here is the outdoor pool. The indoor pool the kids are supposed to use is geared towards small kids. The indoor "kid" section is half of one pool & 2 feet deep. The other half is roped off for lessons, laps, water aerobics, etc. The outdoor pool hours change for family swim hours (12 & under) without notice. We just showed up to swim outside because the app says it's open for family swim (as of 6 days ago), but it isn't (again) making it a complete waste of a trip because 20+ kids are trying to share 2 feet of water in half of the indoor pool. My kids have already passed their swim test & swam the length of their lap pool unassisted, but they can't swim in the outdoor pool WITH a parent if there's not a lifeguard or outdoor family swim is closed. I get to pay a lot of money for amenities that we can't use. I'm cancelling & switching to a city rec program.

Nice facility and staff but way overcrowded. There should be a rule of no cell phones in the weights area because people will camp out on the equipment with their cell phones for extended periods. I remember when I joined in 2004 that they told me they capped membership at 10,000 per location to prevent overcrowding but I am confident that has been far exceeded. I am strongly considering moving to the LA Fitness in Sachse.

I can’t believe the service at this location. I’ve been to Lifetime Gyms in Plano, Allen, Austin, the works. This one is the WORST. STAY AWAY!! Front desk is incredibly rude, and very difficult to deal with. I brought a guest who I have never brought in before and they gave us a VERY hard time. I haven’t dealt with this type of service before, and it bordered on racist behavior. I pay the full signature membership monthly to go to Lifetime, yet bringing in a guest in the evening is a cardinal sin. If you want to go, go to ANOTHER location (I suggest the Plano one, the one I normally go to - excellent!). STAY AWAY.

I had to cancel my membership today for me and my 3 children. The childcare used to be amazing. They had great workers such as Kayla and Jasmine. The last several times I've come they call me within 30 minutes or less to come get my daughter. Today they called me after 12 minutes stating my daughter was crying. Here's where the problem lies and why I hope they address the problems with the kids club soon before families altogether start canceling their membership. I check my daughter in at 6:48 pm. There are no other toddlers in the toddler area it is Monday evening. The worker places her down on the floor and exits the area. The other worker still there in that toddler area continues cleaning and does not come over to acknowledge her. She is too busy picking up toys even though the kids club doesn't close until 8:30pm. Now I have 3 children, I am not some overbearing mother who expects special treatment. I was already worried as I walked out that they wouldn't try to interact or entertain her and if that would mean I would be able to get any exercise in at all. At $30/kid a month I would hope for at least 40 minutes. They called me and I came down. When I come down after working out for 6 minutes I find my daughter at the glass door crying while the worker has her back to her still cleaning up. Kayla or Keyla would always do a great job at carrying my daughter, playing videos and dancing and enticing her with toys to be able to give me a peace of mind so I can workout. This worker only had one baby and could not be bothered giving her the time a day to try and console her. Instead of leaving any toys out she made sure to put everything away. I know she knew she was in the wrong because she avoided eye contact with me and continued to ignore my crying baby. I really hate to leave a bad review because I know that I will just be met with some generic response by the owner and I get it. However I thought it was important to share to others looking into gyms with a family about my experience here and how inadequate the childcare is now despite the doubling in price per child. My older children love the activities here and it is a shame to go. However for a family of 5 paying $267 a month, I just can't justify it if they can't even be bothered having to actually put effort in to entertain children. I've worked at a daycare, I know how to take care of kids and show them a good time. The employees here do not put in any effort at all anymore.
